I have owned three generations of the Fender Passport 150. The first generation (Passport 150) was a durable,dependable sound and voice PA. Other than the flimsy RCA sound inputs, the unit served me well. The 2nd generation I purchased (PD150) lasted through many gigs and had BOSE speakers and a superior sound system. After having a blown tweeter in one of the speakers on the PD150, I purchased the latest version which is the Passport Pro 150. This new unit which costs two hundred less than what I originally paid for for previous PD150 sounds very cheap. It no longer has a BASS and TREBLE control. It only has a TONE control. The music sound quality is no longer there. It has new mini 1/8 stereo input cables which are useful for ipod/iphone outputs. However, when using the microphone and music simulaneously, there is a notable sound degradation. There are annoying output dampening lighted buttons for the microphone inputs which have to be used frequently to prevent feedback. This latest generation of the Fender Passport is not up to standards of previous models. It costs less than the older models and the company who contracted to make the latest generation has cut a lot of corners to keep the price a lot lower. I repaired my Passport PD150 and will be using that now as the main sound system for my performing. Meanwhile, the new Passport Pro which now keeps cutting out during a performance will be in for repair after only 8 months of use. The PD150 lasted over five years before it needed a tweeter.

Ordered Friday, got it Wednesday and had a gig Sunday. The room was about 30x60 with 50 guests at a party. Turned it up half way, sounded great. Only issue is you should use a direct box with your guitar to get full volume. I bought the cheapest one here. Worked perfectly. The CSR said I wouldn't need it but I recommend it. For a solo or acoustic duo, this thing packs up nicely and you can walk in and out with it easily in one hand. Obviously the package with the speaker stands will require an additional trip to the car to get it setup. You can get bigger setups here at this price point, but the pieces are separate and less convenient. I was concerned that it would not be loud enough. Very happy with this purchase. Muscians Friend packaged it nicely and shipped it quickly.

If you need something for small gigs or speaking events this is a perfect system. Its also perfect for someone who ISN'T very achieved at doing sound yet. The operations/knobs on this thing are so easy that a Monkey could do it. Fender did a great job with these.

This is good value for the money. I just got this system to be used in my house mainly for my son who is doing singing. The sounds of the system is very good. I wish it had seperate controls for lows and highs but I can live with one tone control. The portability is great.
The package value is excellent compared to the price of the PA system alone.
