I purchased this wireless mic along with a passport PA system. I thought it would be a convenient way to add a wireless mic to a PA that will be used by a neighborhood association. When I tried using the wireless mic I noticed there was no gain or volume. You had to practically eat the microphone to get any kind of audible sound out of it. The wired mics that came with the PA work fine so I knew it wasn't a problem with the PA system and I assumed it was a defect with the wireless mic. So I took the entire system to a certified Fender service center for warranty service where the technician tried it out and also thought there was something wrong with it. So they ordered a new mic but it had the same problem. Then they replaced the receiver and still had the same problem. The service center eventually said "apparently that's just the way they are."I'm surprised that Fender would sell such a poor quality product. It sure is a blemish on the Fender brand. I noticed that none of the local retailers carry this wireless mic, I could only find it online, and now I know why. I'll bet the other retailers got tired of so many returns. The Passport PA system is great but buy a different brand if you want a wireless mic.
