Purchased the Fostex PM0.5-Sub MKII Active 8 Studio Monitor Subwoofer 6 mos. ago from Musicians Friend for use in my home studio with a pair of flanking M-Audio BX5a for a near-field monitor system. Recorded a church organ on location & during monitoring, the low pedal tones from this sub literally blew the hat off my head without the driver bottoming out. Very quiet amp, good crossover, appears very well made. Not for the weak of heart, head or supporting shelf. Doubles as a blow dryer...
I just got this Sub' and hooked it up. I have a small practice studio for playing against tracks for guitar pracice. I'm also in the process of moving a lot of analog music from reel to reel and LP's to CD. My PM0.5 nearfield monitors, purchased less than a year ago, sound good, excellent definition up close; key word "nearfield"! The one thing they lacked is the low end, bass, frequencies. This PM0.5-Sub MKII just brought that in! I'm one happy camper right now!
