Having looked for reviews on this before my purchase and finding none, I thought I'd help you out. My impressions after using this for 5 or so gigs are mostly positive. There are two channels which you can run in stereo or summed mono (which is what I do). I have been getting a good clean signal that does not drift when using this option (I could not get a strong, steady signal in stereo mode for some reason). I take an aux send of the overall mix into one channel, and a direct out of my vocal into the other channel. You cannot control the mixdown with the Galaxy, as it has no mixing controls, so I premix at the board, and control the overall volume with controls on both the rear of the transmitter and the power/volume rotary pot control on the receiver. The earbuds are junk - easily evidenced by auditioning them with your iPod. I use a set of Shure E3's which I love, and would probably make even the cheapest of iem systems sound passable.-Hiss? None to VERY minor. Sometimes I'll get a slight bit when the gate transitions, but I can't blame that on the Galaxy unit. I am very happy with the clarity of the signal and lack of extraneous noise.-Range? I have not measured, but I have not lost signal from any place on a 25 x 25 stage. I have the unit racked with a Shure PGX wireless 58, and have had not noticed any crosstalk issues either.-Batteries? 2 AA's. Hooray!! Cheap, and seemingly last forever. I'm still on my first set after two weeks. Thank goodness the folks at Galaxy recognize that 9v cells cost much more than they are worth.-Volume? Here is where I got confused when reading a review of an older product, the AS-1000. There were multiple reviewers who noted that the volume level even at full on, was too low to be acceptable for stage monitoring. A look at the specs for the older unit shows the output from the receiver to be 20mW. The newer unit that I am reviewing has had a substantial upgrade: 80mW. I have never had to turn the volume completely up to get a reasonable sound level on stage. At a comfortable volume, I still have appx. 20% more headroom available, even with drums, Marshalls and Ampegs thundering away.-Clarity? Not much worse than your iPod. Of course the signal is getting to you by a UHF transmission, so it's not quite as good. If you send in clean signals at moderate levels to your transmitter, you will be happy with the result.Overall, well worth the expenditure. Spend some time with your signals and levels, and you will probably not be disappointed with this entry level system.

I play in a 7 piece horn band everyone is now on ears. We have one Audio Tech. M3, four PSM 200's, two PSM 600's and now one Galaxy Audio AS-900. The units are all comprible in end sound quality with some work on the board. We lost one of the recievers to one of the PSM 200's and we didn't have the cash to buy a new one, so I bought one of these units as a back up and for that weekends gigs. You have to be super carefull when using multiple wireless units in a rig, do your homework on the frequency cross talk considerations. again you can't change channels on this unit, our other units you can so with some minor adjustments there was no chance for cross talk between them all. Didn't use the ear buds included, but tested them and they are aweful, get a good pair before you even open the box. Anyway, the reciver was unbelieveibly hot, signal was great, clear and tons of headroom. I'm going to get one more just for some insurance if something happens to one of the other units.
Look if you don't like carrying around wedges and you want a tight band with low stage volume then jump to using in ears, totally worth every penny.
Features are pretty basic, volume on the reciever, Db reduction on the transmitter in the event your host signal is too hot. Couple of features that would help but probably drive the price up. Include the BNC antenna bulk head and extender for rack mounting. it comes with a rack mount kit but you should really move the antenna to the front if you're racking it up. I do however like the overside antenna that comes with it, it's about 2mm off on the clearance for an SKB rack but you'll be fine with a standard ATA flight case etc. Need to be able to select channels, even if it's via switches inside the unit, if you ever get interferance you won't be able to simple switch the channel like on a Shure PSM200 etc.
You will absolutly have to upgrade the ear buds! again this keeps the cost down so plan on spending more on decent ones. But this is nothing different when getting a Shure, AT or Sennheiser model, you'll always want to upgrade the buds.
We use a dedicated A&H monitor mixer so we can really dial in the eq, I'm not sure how well these will work with a simply monitor send, also this unit does not have a limiter built in, so be carefull. these are ment to save your hearing not hurt them so maybe put a limiter in line.
so far so good, I've dropped the pack a few times from about waist level and it's still working good. What's great is if you loose or break the reciever it's affordable to replace it, the Shure PSM reciever is more than the cost of this entire unit. (that's actually why I got the AS-900 to begin with)
What can I say, you can not find a better price on a decent In ear wireless unit.

Comments about Galaxy Audio AS-900 Wireless Personal Monitor System:
We have been looking for new wireless gear for our church for some time now. With the 700 band ban coming to a store near you in Canada we knew we needed some replacements. One of our psm 400's is also on the fritz. We have been using shure gear mostly and have been mostly happy with it. The 400's and the 600's. when I saw the price of this item I was skeptical but read lots of reviews and thought we would give it a try. We also had some space in the frequency range that these items are offered at so it worked out. We haven't had it long but so far its been all you could ask for at this price range and if you don't expect things it can't do then it works. The ear buds are average but if you have iem's then you already know that you need good ones.
Setup is easy and range is actually pretty good. We haven't tested the range extensively but who needs to...as long as it works from the source to the receiver.
The body pack doesn't feel any less durable then the psm 400 and with care should hold up nicely especially at this price point.
Would have been nice to have mix mode on these units so you could have two separate mixes (left and right) to two different packs. We also have not yet tried it in stereo as we never really will need to. So I can't comment on that.
All in all if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the big guns this is a great little unit.
Oh and no it doesn't have buzz/white noise problems also know as rf interference. As long as you manage your rf band usage properly.
The bass response is decent but as suggested below below 80 clarity starts to drop off.

Comments about Galaxy Audio AS-900 Wireless Personal Monitor System:
I ordered this item as my band is transitioning from floor wedge monitor speakers to have better control over our stage volume and to reduce stage clutter. I selected the AS-900 for its reasonable price compared to other brands (roughly half their starting prices) and generally good reviews by others. First trial of the unit in a rehearsal situation was very disappointing: even with upgraded earpieces, bass is nonexistant, this was one area where I kind of counted on the manufacturer's spec to be conservative, but no -- there really isn't *anything* below 80 Hz. Worse, the unit is susceptible to *very* loud "FM hash" to the extent that it could have potential for accelerating hearing damage.
And it's non-returnable. Oh joy.
The really frustrating thing is that, on a real gamble, I bought a VERY entry-level, no-name offshore unit through that big on-line store (starts with "A") for one fourth the price of the Galaxy unit that, while more cheaply made, actually sounds and works much better.

Comments about Galaxy Audio AS-900 Wireless Personal Monitor System:
I was a drummer looking for a personal monitor that I could plug my earphones in to. It works! I can listen to my metronome in one ear and the singer in the other. Or whatever I choose to listen to as long as it has it's own channel on the mixing board. It is pretty reasonable priced and the sound isn't bad. BUT, it isn't crystal clear either! And if I move too far away from the transmitter, I get alot of static in my ears. So it's a good tool, just not GREAT!

Comments about Galaxy Audio AS-900 Wireless Personal Monitor System:
Moving from floor wedges to in-ear monitors is big step, but the Galaxy AS-900 system is a good place to begin. The transmitter is very easy to set up, and the radio link is noiseless and dropout-free on any club-sized stage. The only real down-side is the included ear-pieces, which sound muddy at best. Add any quality ear-pieces (I suggest JBL Tempos) or headphones for that matter, and the sound is hi-fi. I've already ordered more receivers for the rest of the band...

Comments about Galaxy Audio AS-900 Wireless Personal Monitor System:
This unit is sounds great and is easy to use. No noise, no distortion, no problems. Before you even use this unit make sure you get a nice set of in ear head phones/earbuds. The ones that come with the unit are garbage and will not deliver the sound quaility that the unit can provide. I am able to obtain a perfect in ear mix with this unit and with a good set of earbuds I'm sure you will too.

Comments about Galaxy Audio AS-900 Wireless Personal Monitor System:
We bought this and another pack for our church to use for hearing assistance packs for the elderly in our church, but these are ment for personal monitoring and they do the job perfect. I use the 1100 series myself as the worship pastor for my monitoring and I will tell you that the 900 sounds just as good and has just as good of a range as the 1100, it just has one channel rather than the multiple on the 1100 and the receiver pack is just plastic rather than the 1100 pack which is covered in a rubber type texture, but this DOES NOT take away from the quality and the ease of use. My only suggestion, if your going to use this for In Ear Monitoring for singing, invest in some quality IEM's, the ones that come with these are OK but not great and make the product seem, not that good. It is a clear full range unit, so get some good IEM's. These sound just as good as the Shures and Audio Techinica IEM's, slightly less low end, (By 20 Hz, shure 200 goes down to 20 hz, the galaxy goes to 40hz really well, after that the bass isnt as punchy). I have used all three and wouldn't think twice about spending more. Unless your going to spend over $1000, its not worth it to get anything else, get the Galaxy Audio and use the money you saved to buy some great IEM's!
Comments about Galaxy Audio AS-900 Wireless Personal Monitor System:
I am a professional bassist. After seeing positive reviews I tried the Galaxy AS900. In spite of trying my other expensive in-ear and over-the-ear phones, this unit had unbearable distortion and buzz in the bass frequencies. I did not try another instrument or vocals on it so I can't rate it on other frequencies. I returned it immediately for a full refund.
