I love how they fold up to almost fit in your pocket. Crazy.
I love these. I have actually had a pair just like them in the past and was very happy with them then. The price is awesome for what you get. The adapter plug alone that comes with the headphones got me excited. I have a DJ business and I use these headphones to preview song request at parties and my PA board only has 1/4" jacks on it so I was happy that I didn't have to purchase an extra one of those. The flexability of the headphones is very helpful at my events as well. They are compact and fit into my gear boxes very well. Great deal, fast delivery, completely satisfied all around. Thank you Musicians friend for coming through once again for me and my business. I will be back!
Excellent for the price.
Best I found for the specs.

Let me just say right off the bat, that I got a pair of these free when I bought Auralex Mopads for my KRK Rokit 5 Gold Editions. Considering I bought those for a little more than what these are currently priced at, and this pair of headphones came with it, which saved me from having to buy a new pair of headphones separately for another $30+. The sound quality isn't bad in them, and I believe these are ported, which is why they acheive the full 18hz to 20khz range. That said, I wouldn't recommend listening to music around a crowd of people that might not like hearing what you're listening to. They're definitely not good for wearing for long periods of time, but they are lightweight and fold up to be pretty darn small. The fact that they have a 1/4" adapter for when you want to listen to a practice amp or use headphones when DI recording instruments without disturbing the neighbors is a plus too.

However, be aware that these are CHEAP construction. Do not expect to be able to abuse these horribly and have them last for very long. The wires are very thin as is the plastic frame that this is made from.

The sound quality is ever so slightly tinny compared to some of the Sennheiser and Sony products I've had in past years, but as mentioned earlier, having gotten them free, I can't say much. If I hadn't, this probably would've gotten about 1 or 2 stars, as there are definitely better products for this price range.

Another plus is that the packaging is very easy to open (unlike many products out there nowadays). It's just a simple plastic fold over a cardboard backer that has the warranty information, specs, etc. on it.

These were free with a powered monitor set. I use them with an MP3 player..sound is good with little leakage so at medium volume someone sitting next to you may not hear your music..if it lists for under 20 I may buy them if these need replacing

Comments about Gear One G40DX Headphones:

I received these headphones as part of a purchase, and immediately, I was satisfied. Though the sound quality doesn't blow me away, it is more balanced between lows, mids and highs compared to my other headphones--which naturally have too much bass. I don't feel like my ears hurt after wearing them for too long due to comfortability and they're fairly easy to adjust. I also like the fact that the cord is long enough, despite having a smaller space and not needing a lot of cord length. All-in-all, these headphones get the job done.

Comments about Gear One G40DX Headphones:

These headphones are cheap but I knew that getting in. WIthin the first weekend of use the right ear piece stopped working, which in my case is OK because I'm deaf in my right ear. For someone with a normal hearing arrangement this could be a huge stumbling block. I use them for watching television programs on my computer at work. The closed ear muffs work well enough at blocking out noise and the fidelity is adequate for my purposes. Critical listening for a mix would probably be a disappointment. They fold up well for easy storage. They work well enough for me but would probably be a drag for anyone else.

Comments about Gear One G40DX Headphones:

Bottom line: they are very uncomfortable. For this reason alone I would never recommend them. However, my husband says they aren't uncomfortable for him. Maybe if you have a bigger head?.... I don't know. I must say that I NEVER wear headphones that don't go IN your ears, so it could very well be that I am just not "used to" the feel of them. But frankly, I think they should feel good as soon as you put them on.

The sound is pretty good to me, although I am by far a music/sound aficionado. Both my husband and stepdaughter say they sound pretty good.

They still work after about 4 or 5 months with infrequent (once or twice a week, brief period) use.

Neither the good sound nor the price (I got them for one third the selling price & free shipping) outweight the fact that they hurt. No recommendation here.
