Comments about Gear One PA1300 6 Ch Powered Mixer 300 wt:
Overall it has good quality sound and is easy to use and set up.. On the down side, the cooling fan is loud, and worse if it happens to be cold. Who would have thought that would be an issue in Ohio, in the Winter Time.! I travel and sing a lot, and the equipment is stored in my truck, in a warehouse, it takes an hour of on & stand-by to get it warmed up. I'll change the fan when the units is out of warranty, but not before.!

Comments about Gear One PA1300 6 Ch Powered Mixer 300 wt:
I am pleased with this purchase, as is my customer. Over the past few weeks, many soloists have used the unit and patrons continually comment on the sound quality.....But remember.....I am using great speakers and mics with this unit which contribute FAR more to the sound quality than the amp.
My only caveat with this unit is the inclusion of the cooling fan in the back, which is a bit loud and can be heard (not in the siganal path) when the performer is silent. It's not too objectionable and merely a slightly negative observation.
I purchased the PA1300 recently for an installation job at a small coffee house. The feature set of this mixer is quite decent and more than what is typically required at this location. The "kickback" cabinet design is a great bonus and well thought out.
The addition of the 1/8" input is also smart for break music between sets.
The preamps are typical of a unit of this price and don't provide a lot of gain but they're reletively quiet.
The DSP section is adequate for some standard reverb and the unit has sufficient outputs to provide both a global monitor mix as well as line out jacks for distributing signal.
The build quality is quite impressive considering the price. The cabinet is well constructed and durable. The jacks are decent and firm.
The only thing that reveals a bit of "cheapness" is the potentiometers, which are a bit flimsy and are nylon posts. I am crossing my fingers that none of the open-mic performers smack the front of the unit because it will surely mean a pot or two will snap off.
you could certainly do worse than this unit. As with any powered mixer, you can't get great sound with lousy microphones and speakers, so don't skimp on those.
I purchased a pair of EV ZX1-90 speakers, which sound amazing for their size.....But they are NOT cheap ($299 each for passives).
I also had the customer purchase a couple EV N/D 767 microphones, which IMHO (I'm a freelance audio engineer) are superior to the Shure SM58 and cheaper at about $100 per.

Good bang for your buck, No doubt. I'm very surprised at the power and versatility that this mixer has. I have not yet gave it a full run, but I plan to tommorrow, New Years Eve Party !!!! I have tried it at my house and needless to say this thing is awesome. I am actually running Two Gemini 15s and Two Nady 15 subs and they came to life once I hit the switch. You have so much flexibility with the presets, and the EQ really lets you adjust your sound just like you want it. Gear One and MF trully had the low budget musicians/ DJs in mind when they came out with this one. Great job guys. Look forward to more good products and bargains from MF.
