OVERVIEW

Rugged, reliable powered mixer with quality effects and a versatile mixer section.

The Gear One PA2400 features two 400W amps that can be directed to left/right mains, mains/monitors, or bridged for a 800W mono. Each amp is plenty for powering most 15" two-way speakers. If you need a system with rock band club capability, the PA2400 has plenty of juice to handle the gig.

Each channel is equipped with a three-band EQ and FX/aux level, as well as a pan knob and a monitor level. Another feature of the PA2400 mixer is a pair of seven-band graphics, one for each amp. These make a huge difference because when you use monitors, they often need a completely different EQ profile than the mains. Having a dedicated monitor EQ lets you get more volume out of your monitors while avoiding feedback.

It features 24-bit FX processing with 100 preset selections including combinations of reverb, delay, echo, chorus, flanger, and rotary FX, each with variable parameters. Dialing up a preset couldn't be easier. You simply turn a knob until the preset's number shows in the display, then press the knob to select it. The PA2400 has separate FX level controls for mains and monitors, and also provides a jack for connecting a footswitch that turns the FX on or off remotely.

Portable and ergonomically designed, with well-placed handles on each end, you won't break your back getting to and from your performance or practice space. The box features a tilt-back panel so when placed on a table, the control panel is at a perfect angle. If you are assembling a system that will let your band rehearse or perform, the PA2400 is a superb solution.

I have 3 of them,, and going to buy a 4th,,for my drum machine, because they work, i have had them for about 3 years now, did a outside gig at 87* out, and it did"t even break a sweat, and had no problem being heard, and i only had 1 there, with one I pod, 4 mics, 1 line 6 floor pod, with guitar ,hook up to it,i always buy the package deal from MF,the 2 400 watt amps, the 100 presets, for vocals are great, and you will find that if your having problems, its mostly monitors,, if you want to sing in a tin can, your going to sound like it, that's why a switch over to 12 inch monitors, instead of the 10 inch it came with, even the 10 inch sounds ok ,,the 12 inch is what it really should be hook up with,, i think it has to much power for the 10,,yamaha are great, for this unit,P,S, this unit is not a toy,So if you do not know what your doing, that head going to let you know real quick,,, SO,KEEP ROCKIN,we are the future of music,,by the way THANKS MF, YOU GUYS ARE GREAT

I purchased this in Jan of this year. A few days ago during band practice it just quit on me. All the mics stopped working. I have it in the shop having a pro look at this. It might be something to do with a blue mic I use that requires phantom power. Anyway I went and purchased a Peavey 8 channel 8500. I will see how this works. Musicians friend put me on hold for over 30 minutes so I hang up. I really have not had any problem with items purchased from musicians friend, Other than this.

Comments about Gear One PA2400 8 Ch Powered Mixer 2 x 400 wt:

This unit works great as intended. Puts up more than enough sound, standard easy to use controls, just enough inputs and outputs for my needs.

The only problem I have with it, and it's a rather big one, IMO, is that the unit doesn't mute itself during power-down. Turning it on is just fine, but whenever I turn the unit off, there is a rather loud popping sound. Usually for a set-up like this, you would turn off the amps first, but since this is a Power Mixer (Mixer with built-in amplifiers), there is no way to specify the power down operation. Apparently when they built this unit, they didn't add the needed electronics to prevent the power mixer from sending a loud pop to the speakers every time you turn it off (much like if you turn off a mixer before turning off the amps in a "normal" set-up).

I've tried turning down all the volume knobs, adjusting the selector switch to send signal to one of the outputs that I am not plugged into, but the popping sound still finds a way to make it into my speakers...The only way around that I've found, is to unplug the speakers before turning off the unit, but this is a less than ideal solution for an issue that shouldn't be there in the first place.

Comments about Gear One PA2400 8 Ch Powered Mixer 2 x 400 wt:

I used the Gear One PA2400 at our practice session the other night and was very satisfied with the performance of this mixer. We ran 3 mics and my acoustic/electric through it and no problems with feed-back. There was plenty of boost for my guitar not to get buried by any other instrument. Very clean sound through my Peavey 10's. This mixer will work well for THE YARD DOGGS!
All I need
This seems to be a high quality, well made mixer. Like the tilt back. All works as it should and has plenty of punch.
A nice piece of gear, and I didn't have to sell anything to afford it.

PA2400 8 Channel Powered Mixer

Comments about Gear One PA2400 8 Ch Powered Mixer 2 x 400 wt:

Overall, this powered mixer is worth every penny! I own other PAs made by Yamaha, Peavey, Kustom, Acoustic, Behringer, and others. I own it, have used it, and believe it is the best value for a powered-mixer Musician's Friend sells.
The features for this mixer are great. I wanted a one-piece, with two amplifiers, powered-mixer for medium sized rooms. My old Yamaha powered-mixer is too small (only 200 watts RMS), and doesn't have all of the in/out and mixing functions of my large rig. The PA2400 allows me to do almost everything my large rig does, yet is packaged in a small, transportable, and powerful package.
The PA2400 casing appears to be made of pressed wood, not metal or plastic. It is very sturdy, and should be a good road warrior. The cooling fan is not the one you find in QSC or Crown products, however, neither is the price. The cooling fan, which is a little louder than the more expensive brands, does an excellent job keeping the mixer cool. All other items (knobs, plug-ins, switches) appear to be very good quality.
The price for this powered-mixer is superb! I read an in-depth article about the PA2400 about six months ago in your sales catalog. When I saw it on sale, I immediately ordered it. You won't go wrong purchasing this PA.

Comments about Gear One PA2400 8 Ch Powered Mixer 2 x 400 wt:

This is an excellent mixer-amplifier , and tough ,too . Mine arrived without damage to the case despite abuse to the package by UPS . The product suffered no damage and the unit itself works great despite what UPS did . With reasonable care this mixer will last a long time . No one would do to their equipment what UPS does to their packages !
The sound is very good and the output will fill medium to large venues . The output is powerful enough to make your ears ring in no time and shake a room with wood flooring ! I am using two large Kustom speakers with this and it rocks !
I own several models of mixer-amplifiers and this one is my overall favorite based on features , toughness and power . The price range is also very affordable making this an outstanding value !

Great up grade from my Kustom 8420 of 12 years. some features are new and placed in different places but overall the same. The fan is a new addition and is somewhat loud but not noticeable while the music plays. They shoud figure out how to make the fan a little more quiet.Over all it's a great mixer.

First off, ask your self, what do you need it for? If your playing for 50,ooo people, No, this might not be the one for you, speakers are everything to a mixer,,i"m running 2# 1000,watt 15 sm club yamahas, mains, with 2# sm 800 watt 15 club yamahas monitors, just for vocals,, and another gear one mixer just for my guitar and floor pod,now if things go bad, i have had, all that hook up in one mixer, but i do red line some times,so i have to back off just a little, Now a buddy of mine, has a 1000 watt mixing board,,and when it goes bad ,, well" its all over, point being, for the money,,this rocks,But its like anything else, shove to much into anything ,then your going to red line, thanks again ,MF,hope everyone has a safe& happy thanksgiving, KEEP ROCK"IN

THE FIRST ONE THEY SENT HAD A FAN NOISE THAT CAME THROUGH THE MONITORS,IF YOU SWITCHED CABLES IN THE REAR THEN THE FAN NOISE CAME THROUGH THE MAINS. TOLD THE "FRIEND " ABOUT IT AND THEY SENT #2 THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD PULL ONE AND CHECK IT BEFORE THEY SENT A 3RD ONE BUT WHEN IT CAME IT HAD SAME PROBLEM.A TECH SUPERVISOR CALLED ME AND SAID THEY DID'NT HAVE ANY OTHER HEAD IN THAT PRICE RANGE . THEN TOLD ME "WELL YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR " WHICH I DID NOT GET WHAT I PAID FOR,THE ONLY MODE THAT DID'NT HAVE THE FAN NOISE WAS STEREO L / R AND IN THAT MODE YOU COULD'NT CONTROL MONITORS SEPERATE FROM MAINS WHICH IS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF HAVING MONITORS ! THE TECH ASKED ME IF I COULD JUST USE IT IN THAT MODE ? SOOoo AFTER HE TOLD ME THEY COULD'NT SWAP ANOTHER BRAND AND THEY COULD'NT FIX THIS ONE , I HAD TO SEND THE WHOLE SPEAKER/MONITOR/ P.A. PACKAGE BACK .IF "MUSICIAN'S FRIEND " IS GONNA OFFER THESE PRODUCTS AT THESE BLOWOUT PRICES THEN THEY NEED TO PUT "IN THE ADD" HALF OF THIS P.A. DOES NOT WORK !!
