Gear One

Rugged, reliable powered mixer with quality effects and a versatile mixer section.

The Gear One PA2400 features two 400W amps that can be directed to left/right mains, mains/monitors, or bridged for a 800W mono. Each amp is plenty for powering most 15" two-way speakers. If you need a system with rock band club capability, the PA2400 has plenty of juice to handle the gig.

Each channel is equipped with a three-band EQ and FX/aux level, as well as a pan knob and a monitor level. Another feature of the PA2400 mixer is a pair of seven-band graphics, one for each amp. These make a huge difference because when you use monitors, they often need a completely different EQ profile than the mains. Having a dedicated monitor EQ lets you get more volume out of your monitors while avoiding feedback.
It features 24-bit FX processing with 100 preset selections including combinations of reverb, delay, echo, chorus, flanger, and rotary FX, each with variable parameters. Dialing up a preset couldn’t be easier. You simply turn a knob until the preset’s number shows in the display, then press the knob to select it. The PA2400 has separate FX level controls for mains and monitors, and also provides a jack for connecting a footswitch that turns the FX on or off remotely.

Portable and ergonomically designed, with well-placed handles on each end, you won't break your back getting to and from your performance or practice space. The box features a tilt-back panel so when placed on a table, the control panel is at a perfect angle. If you are assembling a system that will let your band rehearse or perform, the PA2400 is a superb solution.

I have 3 of them,, and going to buy a 4th,,for my drum machine, because they work, i have had them for about 3 years now, did a outside gig at 87* out, and it did"t even break a sweat, and had no problem being heard, and i only had 1 there, with one I pod, 4 mics, 1 line 6 floor pod, with guitar ,hook up to it,i always buy the package deal from MF,the 2 400 watt amps, the 100 presets, for vocals are great, and you will find that if your having problems, its mostly monitors,, if you want to sing in a tin can, your going to sound like it, that's why a switch over to 12 inch monitors, instead of the 10 inch it came with, even the 10 inch sounds ok ,,the 12 inch is what it really should be hook up with,, i think it has to much power for the 10,,yamaha are great, for this unit,P,S, this unit is not a toy,So if you do not know what your doing, that head going to let you know real quick,,, SO,KEEP ROCKIN,we are the future of music,,by the way THANKS MF, YOU GUYS ARE GREAT

The first one we had suddenly failed to power up after about 6 months use. My sound guy removed the back cover and checked all visible fuses, but they were all intact. Since it was under warranty we sent it back and received a new one.
After about another year, the current one had the same problem, and and it was now out of warranty. He was able to find a schematic of the mixer and found that there is a fuse in the small plastic cover just below where the power cord plugs into the mixer. It has an image of a fuse stamped into it, but it's really not that obvious. That was probably the only thing wrong with the first mixer, but they don't mention it in the troubleshooting guide. The fuse cover even holds a spare, which is good since the fuse does seem to blow now and then.
Other than that, this mixer sounds very clear, and we have been happy with performance and features. Knobs are not as sturdy as higher end brands, but have not been a problem so far. Individual channel pad buttons however have broken and we have to just turn down channel volume rather than risk the button getting stuck in the padded position.

There is few problems with this thing. First, You CAN NOT run the mains in stereo and control the monitors separate. That basically makes the monitor amp in this thing useless. Unless you want mono mains lol. Look at the pics of the back of this and you will see what I mean. Second, The phantom power is only 12 volt so good luck using 48 volt condenser mics. I've got mine set up for left and right mains so only One of the amps in this thing is useable if you want stereo . It does seem like rugged unit tho.

Decent power. Good live sound. Great value to the money. I only use four or five of the 99 effects. It takes awhile to dial through all of them to test, but you are sure to find something that works for your application. (I like vocals to be pretty clean with just enough ambience to smooth them out.)

The case is made of MDF and painted with a textured paint. The case was damaged in shipping when it arrived. Musician's Friend replaced it in short order. Very accommodating. I have not gigged with this yet, but will use extra care when packing and handling.

Got this used in condition 2. The scratches were hardly noticable, otherwise it is in perfect condition. Onboard effects are okay - reverbs and delays are useable - otherwise I would much prefer my midiverb II or III for flange, chorus, etc.

Sound is very clean. I like the dual eq's. Plenty of power at 400 x 2. Running this thru 2 Kustom kpc215's and it sounds great - very clear at high volume. These 2 work well together. I highly recommend both.

This particular unit was beat up in shipping requiring my repair expertise . It is well made , as seen while repairing what they did . Once repaired it worked well as it is designed to be used heavily , just not deliberately abused .
I bought one in the past and it survived shipping and my lust for ultra high decibels ... I do recommend this model as a great deal !

This is an excellent mixer-amplifier , and tough ,too . Mine arrived without damage to the case despite abuse to the package by UPS . The product suffered no damage and the unit itself works great despite what UPS did . With reasonable care this mixer will last a long time . No one would do to their equipment what UPS does to their packages !
The sound is very good and the output will fill medium to large venues . The output is powerful enough to make your ears ring in no time and shake a room with wood flooring ! I am using two large Kustom speakers with this and it rocks !
I own several models of mixer-amplifiers and this one is my overall favorite based on features , toughness and power . The price range is also very affordable making this an outstanding value !

First off, ask your self, what do you need it for? If your playing for 50,ooo people, No, this might not be the one for you, speakers are everything to a mixer,,i"m running 2# 1000,watt 15 sm club yamahas, mains, with 2# sm 800 watt 15 club yamahas monitors, just for vocals,, and another gear one mixer just for my guitar and floor pod,now if things go bad, i have had, all that hook up in one mixer, but i do red line some times,so i have to back off just a little, Now a buddy of mine, has a 1000 watt mixing board,,and when it goes bad ,, well" its all over, point being, for the money,,this rocks,But its like anything else, shove to much into anything ,then your going to red line, thanks again ,MF,hope everyone has a safe& happy thanksgiving, KEEP ROCK"IN

I use this unit in small to medium DJ venues. It has worked flawlessly for me to date (over two years). I run my Mac computer with a program called DJ which interfaces with iTunes. Couldn't be any easier. Depending of the size of the crowd I use various speaker combos, the largest being 2 Acoustic bass amp 15" enclosures with horns. Yep, the bass guitar enclosures eliminate the need for an additional powered subwoofer. Then I add 2 Kustom 15's on stands for more accurate vocal reproduction (or optional 12's or 10's depending on the room/crowd). Running two speaker pairs on each side drops the load to 4ohms and produces tons of volume. For maximum thump with a dance crowd I add an Acoustic bass amp and enclosure from the Gear One line out option. It's somewhat unorthodox for pa bass reinforcement but works great. I have nothing but positive experience with this unit and hope someday they will expand it with a third or fourth power amp.

YOU CANT BEAT THIS COMPLETE PA PACKAGE FOR WHAT I PAID FOR IT.
