OVERVIEW

Rugged, reliable powered mixer with quality effects and a versatile mixer section.

The Gear One PA2400 features two 400W amps that can be directed to left/right mains, mains/monitors, or bridged for a 800W mono. Each amp is plenty for powering most 15" two-way speakers. If you need a system with rock band club capability, the PA2400 has plenty of juice to handle the gig.

Each channel is equipped with a three-band EQ and FX/aux level, as well as a pan knob and a monitor level. Another feature of the PA2400 mixer is a pair of seven-band graphics, one for each amp. These make a huge difference because when you use monitors, they often need a completely different EQ profile than the mains. Having a dedicated monitor EQ lets you get more volume out of your monitors while avoiding feedback.

It features 24-bit FX processing with 100 preset selections including combinations of reverb, delay, echo, chorus, flanger, and rotary FX, each with variable parameters. Dialing up a preset couldn't be easier. You simply turn a knob until the preset's number shows in the display, then press the knob to select it. The PA2400 has separate FX level controls for mains and monitors, and also provides a jack for connecting a footswitch that turns the FX on or off remotely.

Portable and ergonomically designed, with well-placed handles on each end, you won't break your back getting to and from your performance or practice space. The box features a tilt-back panel so when placed on a table, the control panel is at a perfect angle. If you are assembling a system that will let your band rehearse or perform, the PA2400 is a superb solution.

First off, ask your self, what do you need it for? If your playing for 50,ooo people, No, this might not be the one for you, speakers are everything to a mixer,,i"m running 2# 1000,watt 15 sm club yamahas, mains, with 2# sm 800 watt 15 club yamahas monitors, just for vocals,, and another gear one mixer just for my guitar and floor pod,now if things go bad, i have had, all that hook up in one mixer, but i do red line some times,so i have to back off just a little, Now a buddy of mine, has a 1000 watt mixing board,,and when it goes bad ,, well" its all over, point being, for the money,,this rocks,But its like anything else, shove to much into anything ,then your going to red line, thanks again ,MF,hope everyone has a safe& happy thanksgiving, KEEP ROCK"IN

I purchased this in Jan of this year. A few days ago during band practice it just quit on me. All the mics stopped working. I have it in the shop having a pro look at this. It might be something to do with a blue mic I use that requires phantom power. Anyway I went and purchased a Peavey 8 channel 8500. I will see how this works. Musicians friend put me on hold for over 30 minutes so I hang up. I really have not had any problem with items purchased from musicians friend, Other than this.

Comments about Gear One PA2400 8 Ch Powered Mixer 2 x 400 wt:

After selling my P.A. gear years ago, wanted to get back into it w/out putting out a lot of money like b/f. Ok, so saw this "blemished" item @ MF just b/f Christmas 2016. Open box item. For the features listed, thought, "Not bad". When it arrived, discovered to my dismay that Channels 2 and 5 did not work. Some of the Digital FX did not work, either. And bridged mono @ 800 watts? Please. Nope. Less than 1/2 that. In my estimation. Look, it SEEMED like a good deal overall, and perhaps I just received a bad Gear One head unbeknown to MF, but even new, would be hesitant to buying this head again. ONLY if, say, they had one @ GC and it proved to work reasonably well, would I do so. Won't buy untested from the catalog. Now, Behringers, Mackies, those brands, sure, buying them is low risk b/c of their reputations. MF is awesome regarding returns/refunds, etc. THANKS, MF! SO, in summation, would say, "Be Cautious". Even the Harbinger head on sale here as of this review would seem a better deal. Thanks.

I have played professionally, and recorded my originals in analog for many years in the past. Getting back into it with digital recording capability and playing small jobs. This powered mixer has plenty of power to drive two Peavey 15"/full range speakers. I'm very satisfied for the price!

Comments about Gear One PA2400 8 Ch Powered Mixer 2 x 400 wt:

Monitor channel stopped working after about 10 hours of use. The max volume is also not nearly comparable to other amps I've had with less wattage. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS! I just wanted something cheap and that's what I got. Just hope they'll let you return this garbage.
