I don't know about these bad reviews, I guess I'm the one lucky guy who got a perfectly good pair. They rock the whole house my band practices in (which is a mansion). I've already booked 3 DJ gigs with them too. Plenty of power for small venues. A little feedback but honestly what do you expect for the low price? They're all I could've hoped for for the price.
I saw the three inputs and thought this would be ideal for my band's rehearsals. It is. It sounds decent enough with a vocalist, an electric bass, and an electronic keyboard running into it. And the price is right here at Musician's Friend. My main complaint is that the knobs on the back stick out. The rear panel should be inset into the chassis enough to take the controls out of harm's way, but they are kinda hanging out there in the breeze.Good enough, cheap enough, the Friend comes through again!
Overall this active speaker is a good value for the money. It sounds much louder than 200 watts. I'm using mine as PA monitor for my band and as speakers for an occasional DJ gig.
Hey I know they are cheap but when mine arrived one of the tweeters had already fallen down in the cabinet. I should have sent them back but I just put it back together and it worked. I say that loosely because they need quite a bit of eq to get a half way decent sound. maybe you should think twice!
