More than 4 times faster than FireWire
With transfer speeds up to 420 MB/s, the Studio mini offers true next-generation USB 3.0 performance. This means faster editing, quick rendering, more tracks, more samples, and a more efficient workflow.
No more searching for a bulky power adapter when you're pressed for time and on the go. Studio mini is bus-powered by USB or FireWire. An AC adapter is an optional accessory if your configuration does not support bus-power.
Engineered to stay cool
Our unique heat transfer technology draws heat away from internal components, moves it to the aluminum exterior to dissipate, and significantly reduces the chance of component failure.
Custom sensors monitor the health of your Studio mini, warning you of activity patterns that indicate potential problems with your drive.
Glyph is so confident that their drive systems perform at the most reliable level, they back them up with a 3-Year warranty, 2-Year Free Basic Data Recovery Policy, and 1-Year Advance Replacement (U.S. Continental 48 States only).

Comments about Glyph Studio mini Professional Portable Hard Drive:
I got this because I wanted a reliable, fast backup for audio files from my home studio that I could take on the road while traveling. Most hard drives I own are consumer level and run at about 5k RPM. Although I still prefer SSDs for real-time processing, at 7200 RPM and USB 3, this one is fast enough to be my primary storage device. Initially, I found the unit to be a bit hard to setup with my Win10 laptop. It comes pre-formatted for Mac and when I reformatted for NTFS, my computer didn't recognize it. Believing it was defective, I exchanged it for another one and it seems to be OK. (Kudos to MF for a fast and trouble free exchange.) The latest one is working fine and provides a reliable place for my backup files to be stored.

Comments about Studio mini Professional Portable Hard Drive:
I got this drive with an MF discount coupon. I'm using it as backup storage for home studio digital files. I usually use an SSD for real time storage/processing. At 7200rpm this is so much faster than my other 5400rpm drives. It's so fast it probably could compare to the SSDs as far as access speed and latency and it does make backups much quicker. I still like the SSDs for their size and portability, since I'm away from home quite a bit.
It came formatted for OS but reformatting it for my Win10 platform (NTFS) was quick and easy. I've never used or owned a GLYPH product before and I haven't owned this one for very long, so I can't vouch for its reliability, but other reviews I've read have been very positive and they were a big factor in my trying this drive.
