the idea behind this product is great, however:-it's way too sensitive to background noise. It is almost unusable for most applications. -there are often pops and clicks in the recordings made with this product that griffin "claims" is the result of apple's hardware.-griffin recommends that you buy there usb audio hub to use the product. it claims it "might" clear up these problems.
Cheap product that allows you to get low quality recordings into your computer via USB. I bought this because my iBook doesn't have an audio in, only USB. However it has such terrible background noise that I'm now looking for another device. It really is true that you get what you pay for.
I've owned one over a year. When connected to my desktop Macs (G4 Towers) there is a 20-30 db hiss which renders it useless for recording. When connected to my PowerBook or iBook there is virtually no background noise (in or out).I wouldn't recommend this for use with a desktop machine, but it's an ok (cheap) portable interface, especially for portables (like the iBook) that have no built in sound input.
this is garbage, don't sell it, I have been using it for 2 years and i am dumping it. Way too much background noise. Make terrible recordings.
This is the best USB mic on the market for it's price. I don't know how the others reviewers are using this product, be it must incorrect. Now, 1st, this is for Mac users, NOT PC users. 2nd, it's made for most sound programs, but especially for GarageBand. 3rd, and foremost, you'll need the iMic Guitar Cable to record your guitar into your computer, or the iMic Mic Cable to record your voice into your computer properly. With no noise!
I've had this puppy for a few years now. I use it for quick-and-dirty recordings from my band's mixer to a PowerBook. I actually bought it because the sound-in jack on my laptop broke. I feel that it was slightly over-priced, but all-in-all it was worth it.
Lots of background noise from this thing.
