These cabs have been exposed to a number of environments over the past year. We do live performance, as well as, dj & karaoke work. They've been used indoors, big & small, outdoors (usually big) and in an offshore marine enviroment 2 or 3 times a month aboard a Casino cruise boat (all summer, topside on the weather deck...sheltered, but very open air...salt air). They've been rained on, they've been left in the van in freezing and sweltering hot conditions and they've served as extensions of a larger system at an all day benefit with 9 different bands slamming into them. They show little to no signs of wear & tear; physically or audibly.
We've recently upgraded our system and they now serve as our mains high atop (on a stick!) above 18" subs (subs are a huge help with these...they're fine on the lows for smaller stuff, but if you're going to crank them, they can use some help with the bottom end). They get the main mix while the subs (2) and monitors (4) are each independant systems. They don't even blink (except, of course, for the clip indicator...right or wrong, I've come to ignore that....I know what levels we're running.)
The heatsink on the back, though a neccessary evil, is a little awkward and is always a consideration when handling the cabs (load ins & outs, etc). They will rip skin...and upholstery if carelessly loaded...so we don't carelessly load them!
Overall, the experience so far has been nothing less than great with these troopers. They do everything we bought them for and they have risen to every occasion with no fuss. I've made some bad decisions equipment-wise in the name of 'economical', but this wasn't one of them. Just buy 'em and put 'em to work...I've not been disappointed.
These very versatile Harbinger (affectionately refered to as 'Headbangers') APS15 cabs have ample inputs and adjustments to be used as a stand alone PA for solo performances in smaller venues...no mixer...just plug & play.
I had to re-torque a few screws after several uses, but otherwise, they've stood up to all we've put them through. The sound is great, never a problem. They do seem to clip a little soon, at least according to the blue clip indicator light, but audibly, never noticable.
Before buying them (2), I did my homework and decided hands down, these offered the most bang for the buck and then some.

After buying these and using them frequently (at least once weekly, often times more), i can say for certain that they are a very low quality. For a 15" speaker they don't hanlde a lot of watts, they clip easily, they hiss, they sound muddy even when eq'd, and there are plenty of other better alternatives. I don't even use this as a monitor because of all of the hiss. I used to run my pair as my drum monitors, but i have since upgraded to kustom powered monitors, and they sound better for a better price
Features are good; XLR 1/4" and RCA inputs and a graphic eq, but the onboard eq doesn't help at all
Seriously low quality. i purchased these in a cheap pa package and i was sorely disappointed. The quality just isn't there, everything sounds muddy and the speakers have a pretty harsh hiss to them when nothings coming through them
They're really cheap for a powered 15", but i would invest in something a little higher quality. I upgraded to two pv215 towers and crown power amps to run them, and the sound quality is far superior, a night and day difference

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:
For the money this cab is a high value. although it peaks at 200 watts it runs hot and will not quit. it is versitile for weddings, monitoring bands, medium to large room voice apps and with the heavy bottom end and clear hi-end can be a great medium room dj main. I now own 4 and give them to my DJ's and trivia/Karoake hosts for medium jobs. You can link them together for perfect zone mixes throughout the room and they sound great especially if you use a drive rack to clean up the bass and compress the mix. My musicians at live band events love them as monitors and the mixing section gives me great versitility for insert/group monitoring and multi mixing applications. The 5 band E.Q. also allows me to dump bottom end and Hi end which eleiminates rumble and squeal! Lastly, you can find them for two beans or less which makes them a super value. Get a few and you wont be disapointed!!!

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:
I use these speakers for live Karaoke with a Peavey double 15" speaker and a double 15" Seismic audio speaker. I also have 2 twelve Pro speakers set as monitors. The sound is rich and clear. I got the two speaker at a great price last December and I am very happy. I do karaoke outside at parties and the group was highly impressed with the difference in the quality of music and how great they sounded singing. I am running a Fender passport through the sending lines with my Harbinger 15" powered speakers. I am running the double 15" speaker through a Pyle pro 800 watt pa as an amp because it gives me the power I need for them. Get these speakers !!!! I LOVE THEM!!

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:
It was the answer to a mixer I thought was powered. Just one will do fine for Church and nursing homes. It's heavy to lift and once I build a cabinet to haul it in it will be even heavier. Alot of static when you turn up the volume. Good sound in the basement, we'll see what its like when I get out to use it. Good deal and nothing to bad cosmetically. Happy so far.

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:
Our band has 6 powered 15's. We use them for mains and monitors. Three of the powered 15's are Harbingers. One of the other brands has the identical injected molded cabinet. The Harbinger is better thought out as to protecting the controls, also the 2 channel mixer can be a gig saver if you either forget your mixer or it fails. I have read some criticisms of the amps tone, we use the Mackie 1640i, Shure mics and have no complaints. Once we used a lower priced mixer and it wasn't the best sound, not bad, but not as good as the Mackie. Daisy chaining the speakers is makes the sound set up easy. These speakers perform well and are more than adequate, it is likely that if you really need more sound renforcement, the house is going to have it. I still recommend making a satellite speaker mod to accomodate an extra 8 ohm load. Try them for yourself, A/B them with the best and hear for yourself.

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:
These speakers aparently have some built in compression that does not let you use any real power. Everytime I crank it up, the sound just dissappears. I purchased one, tried it for a week, threw it in storage for a year, and sold it to a student for half price. If you (like me) make your living playing music, this is not for you. It will serve fine as a karaoke monitor though.

I tried pair for monitors hopping for good clean stage sound, but the did not have the headroom needed for stage levels, peaked out and distortion, ok for dj, but not for live band sound.

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:
Best sound and features for the price. Fairly loud and very warm sounding. But I wouldn't use them for anything too big, just music playback and maybe some announcements at small events of less than 100 people. For this use might even be able to go with no subs because 15 is fairly punchy for watts.

Comments about Harbinger APS15 15" Powered PA Speaker:
I just bought my 3rd speaker cabinet as I use one at home and the other 2 for Elec. Drum and Bass monitors from individual sub boards on stage at our church. Plenty of power for a monitor and smaller gigs if want to use as a PA. This cabinet is so versatile with all the inputs on back and with a little EQin' they have very clean crisp sound to them. For what I use them for they work great and are good for the money. Had 2 for over a year now with no problems. It handles all the church gigs with ease. I'm very happy with my purchase.
