An unlimited world of sounds.

SampleTank 2 is the ultimate sample workstation.

For the first time in a sample-based instrument, 3 synth engines can be switched on-the-fly to provide more sound flexibility than ever before: traditional resampling (the conventional method of playback most samplers use), Pitch-Shift/Time-Stretch and the all new STRETCH engine.

STRETCH (Sampletank Time REsynthesis TeCHnology) gives complete sonic control over the tempo, pitch and harmonics of samples. No more "chipmunk sounding" transposition, no more loops and phrases out of sync, no more limitations in musical expression.

Multisamples like you've never heard before!

Multisampled instruments with STRETCH deliver amazing realism and expression. Your performances come to life with true glide, bending, staccato, and vibrato with an incredibly rich, vibrant and natural quality. Plus, pushing STRETCH to the limit can take you to a whole new world of unheard sonic territories.

Loops become playable instruments!

The Pitch-Shift/Time-Stretch allows to sync any loop to the sequencer tempo and sync various loops together with a single click! Slow loop tempos close to zero without affecting the pitch or have your loop tuned or singing by changing its picth in real time without changing its tempo. Play loop phrases with chords in sync and run them through filters and effects for the first time in a virtual instrument. Only SampleTank 2 allows you to use loops as an instrument with unlimited expression.

Easy for every musician to use

All of this power is packed in a musician friendly interface and everything you need right in front of you. SampleTank 2 makes it easy to access more than 50 new synth-engine parameters including multi-mode filters, envelopes, LFOs and more for your own patch creation.

Instantly compatible with every platform!

SampleTank 2 is available for Mac0S9, Mac0SX and Windows, VSTi, DXi, RTAS, MAS and Audio Units all from the same box.

Unlimited World Of Sounds

The widest selection of hi-quality playable sounds you cannot find anywhere else. SampleTank 2 XL includes 8 CDs, more than 1,500 sounds for more than 4.5GB of samples. A multitude of Bass, Drums, Guitars, Orchestral, Ethnic, Organs, Percussion, Pianos, Strings, Brass, Vocals, Synths and Loops. SampleTank 2 XL gives you the inspiration for top quality composition and production right out of the box.

An effects powerhouse!

Sample Tank 2 Rocks!

By markyMark-ef99L

from Fort Lauderdale, FL

I've never had a plug-in that was so affordable, versatile, and sounded great all at the same time. ST2 is so easy to use too, everything's all right there in front of you on a one page--which makes work flow so much easier. I highly recommend it!

This does not import easily as it states

Is this company selling us the same samples over and over again? Other review from the web slao say it doesn't import easily., nor, does it import Sample Cell Banks as advertised.

First Time With A Soft Synth and it Rocks

See all my reviews

People always tell me to try soft synths, but I'm so use to the actual hardware, keyboards, workstations etc. This was my first soft synth try because of there over all web-site and how the salesman at guitar center talked about it. I was impressed. Sample Tank 2XL sounds great and the expansion tanks sounds great as well.

I don't know what those other guys are talking about. I installed sample tank just fine. The instruments in sample tank sound great to me and it's awesome not having to hire a bunch of people who play other instruments just to get some sounds. There is a learning curve but in about a week I was able to do just about anything I needed to.

Horrible, and here is why.....

By cjhope

My testing of the SampleTank software Sampler has led me to the conclusion that it is really not stacking up well against other options. I have tried Giga-sampler and loved it, but didn't want a second machine in my studio - I'm running Pro-Tools on a mac. I used to run SoftSampleCell and that was wonderfully capable of doing just what I needed - the bare minimum. I was always waiting for something better to come along, and SampleTank was supposed to be it!Both Guitar Center and Digidesign, recommended the SampleTank crossgrade to me, and there view is usually spot on so I went for it. Big mistake. I didn't know it was possible to have less functionallity than samplecell, but IK media found a way. There are so many rules and restrictions to working with samples in this product that it took a few weeks to figure out that it just plain old wouldn't work and I wasn't just an idiot.Don't try call the help line!!! Not very helpful people, and they didn't even know their own product. First and foremost the "SampleCell Bank Import" feature is a LIE... Plain and simple. Not 1 setting from the samplecell bank is imported, just the instruments. I suggested in a letter to them that it be more correctly labelled "Multi instrument import". I don't know does anyone know about the "3 strikes rule" that they have in installations? You get 3 installations, and you have to PAY for the software again. I suggested to them that they should honestly tell us that we are just leasing their software for $xxx instead of making us -REPAY for something we already own. For example, 1 of my installs went on my OS9, to try and ensure my imports from Softsamlecell went ok(thank god I tried... because it doesn't work!!!).The second install will go on OSX. God willing this works, I will be left with one more install option from them, for either and upgrade to panther, a new G5 or my laptop and its mbox.Unlike other software, they do not use an ilok dongle or a floppy, they just plain and simple know they are about to rip you off and don't tell you.Buy it if you really want it, but I just want to ensure that you are aware of its problems and its sales pitch LIES and there are a few of both!

fair and balanced

By Hayes

from Wheatridge, CO

Contemplating buying Sampletank i thought i'd read some reviews first. Sure enough, two reviews, one fantastic, one horrible. I ended up buying it, one of those impulse buys. I figured i had a 50/50 chance of liking it (and myself later for buying it!). After installation, which to be honest, did pose a few headscratching moments, i opened Sonar3 to check out the new toy. I had failed to read the read me file on the. i forget which of the '9' Cd's it was on, saying that the DXi version didn't work with Sonar3. Roughly translated {midi hangs, poor triggering, totally wrong sound and feel), I contacted tech support, who got back to me the next day, and told me i needed an upgrade patch for the DXi version to work, with Sonar3. Fair enough, i think(?) anyway, still not having a clue what this thing really sounded like, i upgraded it, no problem. sat down and ended up being pretty well impressed, i can't say how many new sounds come with ST2 as i haven't heard 1 but this is a pretty fair bunch of sounds, very usable. i like the interface, i found my way round quickly. I've used, and use a good bunch of software toys and found ST2 to be right in there. Basically when all's said and done, anyone who may read this thinking about a purchase, you can't go wrong with ST2, it's a great piece. Ten years ago i would have gladly paid much much more for all the goodies in here.
