i've been using fruityloops for years now, and i just upgraded to this version. it's completely amazing, i love some of the new interface, but to be honest i'm not quite as impressed as i though i would be. the fact that they left all the producer's edition features in just to tease you angered me a bit.But other than that i love it, easy to use, compatible with alot of other programs and it's great for midi control, but i would suggest considering buying the producer's edition instead.
Amazing! I have used many softwares, and overall, nothing comes too close to what you get here. It is very powerful, very easy to get started with, yet advanced enough to do difficult things with. It comes with sounds, effects, help, a step sequencer, and more!I love the "piano roll" it allows you to enter notes with the click of a mouse. It is wonderful for many genres of music. Here's a tip, though: I give it an 8 in quality because it could use more high quality sounds, but it has some good ones though. If you combine this piece of software, with Native Instruments VST instruments as well as REFX, and EDIROL VST instruments or others, you can have a very powerful virtual studio! The soundfont player helps as well, you can download some VST instruments, sounds, and soundfonts for free on the internet. Try a search engine, you might find some really good ones, I have been very lucky with this myself. To receive maximum benefit from this software, I also suggest you get the Sonic BBE Maxmizer software plugin to bring out clarity in the audio, and the WAVES Gold, or Platinum or Diamond bundle. But you don't have to get anything additional, my suggestion though. There are also sample CD's available with sounds on them that can be used with this software.
It's everything I ever wanted in a system. This was what I've been looking for for a long time. Someone told me about it and My friend has it. I was addicted to this program. I made countless beats on Fruity Loops.
It's an awesome program. Been using it for years, but the samples that come with it are #!%@
As a sequencer, I couldn't rate it higher. It's an 11 on the Spinal Tap scale. I have the version from the website, but it is nearly the same thing. It's easy to use. Easy to tweak. The learning curve is only a few days, at most. The most simple pattern or song will take minutes, but using it to it's potential may take a little longer. It can sync with Sonor and other recording programs. If you have samples you want to use, you can import them by placing them in the proper folder. Also, you can receive upgrades for life and the support is absolutely phenomenal.I only wish their own audio editing was more advanced. Then I would have given it a 10 for features.
Nice looking and sounding program, but I think it's about time that the developers started using simple interactive flow charts for each channel and include them in the instructions. I'm trying out FL5 and although I'm impressed with the look, I almost wish there were patch cords coming out of the thing so that it gave me the real feel that the module graphics are trying to give, but can't without that old patch system that flowcharts could. I was ready to buy the thing but for that. Now I'm not so certain anymore, and good luck trying to find a place at their site to tell them directly.
I had been using Cakewalk to record when a friend bought Fruity Loops for me. I can't use anything else now. There are 3 main things I love about this software: 1. User friendly (didn't take me long to understand how to use it), 2. Modular (compatible with almost any other software files), 3. versatile (hundreds of free plug-ins to download, not to mention all the sounds that come with the software), 4. FL Forum (great interaction with other FL users, but you have to have a regkey to post, so it doesn't get polluted) 5. free upgrades (!!!), 7. they're from Belgium (I grew up there).Highly recommended for people who want a great composing, arranging, or mixing tool. Not limited to techno songwriters either (I write folk/rock/prog stuff).
