I purchased these last year and i've used them for various shows large rooms and also out door shows,and these speakers rock! I have pushed these speakers to the point that i thought they could'nt even handle i thought i was pushing my luck but let me tell you i was wrong these babies can take a beating they sound great!! I run a qsc gx5 amp these speakers run in 4ohms so i'm pushing 750 watts continuous to each channel. and let me tell you these speakers are worth the money. I recommend anyone to buy these you wont be dissapointed.

Excellent speakers. In my book, it doesn't get any better for the money. I've been playing in touring bands for years and I've also used mine at home (for casual music listening) and these are definitely top-notch in both situations. I use a Mackie mixer coupled with either a dbx DriveRack or just an equalizer and crossover; in both conditions, I use two QSC RMX 2450 amps (one for the JBL pair and one for a pair of Electro Voice iForce 18" subs). Although these amps could probably make anything sound good, I am very impressed with the JBLs' performance.

For the price these speakers are great!I use them for monitors, side fills, stuff like that. They sound great and have enough power! Great start for a point source system!They can be used as mains for a smaller venue, you know 100 person crowd and lower. But anything above that I might suggest moving up to a more powerful speaker and amp. (Unless you just have a bunch of them).

We use a pair of these speakers for our contemporary worship services in a medium-small room. When pushed even a little we found the highs to be shrill and brittle - very unpleasant to listen to. After a bit of research I found this was a fairly common complaint and that there was a simple, inexpensive solution: replace the high freq. drivers, which we did. We purchased a pair of Selenium 220 drivers for $40/ea and spent about 25 minutes replacing both of them - a really simple operation, as the drivers simply thread onto the horns. The difference in sound was amazing. Warm, richly detailed sound with not even a hint of shrillness. With this minimal upgrade, these speakers sound awesome, even when pushed. I have always preferred the sound of EV to JBL, but after the upgrade these easily sound better than the far costlier EV's I've worked with. Many folks love these speakers as-is. But if you buy them and find that you want more warmth and openness on the high end, you can absolutely get that. Either way you just can't lose with these speakers.

I have four of these cabinets and they are good for small and medium size places. They sound very well but you need to put them a little high to take good advantage on the sound. I dont recommend them for very small size venues since I have a pair of yamaha club series that work better with the stands. I think that The electro voice force i full range are better but this cabinets are very good for the price and if you carry them with another person they are not heavy.

I purchased two about 4 years ago, added another pair 2 years ago. I have never had a complaint, lack of sound (volume, frequency range). I added a couple of oversized 18" sub cabinets, but I hardly use them. The are there more for looks and work well as speaker stands for the JRX's. Folks think "ALL" the bottom end is coming from the 18" subs, when the JRX's are actually the source of the chest pounding.Have had no problems at ALL with these speakers!

Overall these are great speakers. I use to own these and powered them with a QSC 2400, but when it came to large venues or for live band they would distort. I used them as stage monitors for a time, but for small to medium venues these are the speakers you are looking for.
