SF25 (Older version of this speaker)

By Plague guitarist

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I have the sound factor series of this, which is the line that these replaced. Almost identical features and same great value. All I have to say is They have lasted me 7 years now and still take a beating. I am running a crown xti 4000 with 2 of these on each side and they work great. A subwoofer is mandatory if you want superior bottom end, but the lower 15 does do a great job on it's own. To the guy that said he was running 2 of these with a bridge mono amp I have 1 question. What amp were you using cause most bridge mono do not go to 2 ohms.

These speakers will last you a lifetime. I have own them for more than 5 years. I used them as my band's main PA system over a pair of 18" DAS sub-woofers and as my DJ gear. The tweeters will never go out. You will simply sound great. You won't regret it.

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I have these speakers hooked up to a CrownXTi2000 amp playing full range along with a pair of 18" subs on a CrownXLS802 for some extra kick. let me tell you these JBL speakers rock. Nice clear mids fill the venue every single time, I gave away my Peavey115s which are no match for these babies. I am one pleased Puppy.

    Great PA value

    By icetime

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

For the price/performance, these speakers are a great buy. They offer great range and sound and while adhesive fastening techniques are used, they are solid boxes and should stand the rigors of band travel if not abused. Looking forward to many happy gigs with these speakers. Using a good Crown amp to drive and we put our whole band through a 24-channel mixer and it works.

    Love or hate them

    By Mr. L

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

Pro sound guys HATE the JRX line. Why? They simply do not sound as good as the upper JBL series or many other high-end speakers. I own the entire JRX line from cabs to subs. I use them for hardcore mosh pit music. They work fine for that. These speakers are very bright, however. They push the highs forward. This is kind of cool when your program material is yelling, growling, and cookie monster vocals. People want the china to shatter their ears. BUT if your material is more subtle you won't like these. A-B them with the SRX or MRX series and you will imediately hear the difference. The MDF construction requires you to keep them very dry and handle them gently. I needed to get up and running and learn how to run a PA without spending big $ on speakers. I run FOH/monitors on xti amps along with Drive Rack PAs and dBx compressors. The bands say they like the sound, fans like it, so I am good for now. I DO plan on going with the better JBL line someday. If you can't afford better, consider these.

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I use 2 of these speakers with a full band (half stacks and all that crap) and the vocals cut right through the mix. The drums are even mic'd and the vocals cut through loud and clear.

      VERY good for the money

      By Dave Wakefield

      from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

These speakers are very good for the gigging musician who needs great sound quality for a small price. The "quasi-3-way" network works very well at producing a solid low end while not mucking up the sound. Great top end, good mids, and awesome lows without being muddy. I play a 5-string bass, and it rocks the low B HARD, and kills the kick drum. Great speakers.

      Absolutely NO disappointment

      By Michael Dean

from Dallas / Ft Worth , Texas

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I've used many different cabs in my career and I have FINALLY found the answer to all my "speaker" problems. I now own a karaoke/dj company and the JRX 125's I now use out performs any speaker I've ever used. Any venue, large (used with subs) or small, the quality of the sound is crystal clear. I drive them with a Yamaha EMX 5000 and not a week goes by I don't get a compliment on my sound !!! I recommend them very highly to anyone "thinking" about buying them. You won't be disappointed !!

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I have owned a pair of these speakers for a little over a year now, they were purchased before they changed the model number. I have not had any trouble with them, I use them with some Yamaha speakers and the JBL's have a much nicer and clearer sound. I use them with (2) Crown CE2000 amps and 2 B52 Subs. The sound is great, just wish they had casters to move them a little easier.

I bought a pair of these 2 years ago. If played low they are clear and sweet, crank them up and they really quake (Crown CE-2000). The quality and the price...can't be beat.

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I've owned a pair of these cabs for over a year and use them for mains for my band,I purchased them for the reason that JBL makes quality sound products and I am very satisfied with the sound they put out, outdoors, large rooms, clubs. I've powered them with QSC PLX3002 pwr amps and small powered Mackie 808s mixer, These cabs truly pack the punch for the affordable price.

JRX 125s the Good and Bad

      By DJ Synergy

      from Akron, OH

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I just got a pair of these and I'm pushing them w/ the QSC RMX 2450. They are very loud and sound pretty darn good! The low end doesn't put out the amount of bass I had hoped they would. Looks like I'll have to break down and get some good 18"s before long. The main drawback to the design of these speakers is that you can't put them on a "stick" up in the air. If you have a lot of people in front of them, the coverage isn't the best. Put them on a stage or on some sub cabinets and you'll be alright. If you plan to move these things around from gig to gig, get urself a hand truck or and extra person, these things are really awkward to move. All n' all, you can't beat the price on these for being JBL Pro. Get some subs, and EQ the whole system, and you'll have a pimp sounding system!

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I've only had these for 6 months or so but have used them for a full band setup 4 times. With the right eq, these jbl's are brilliant. The coverage is fantastic as the volume remains consistent when you are 10' or 50' away. Great for handling a lot at once. Low end is lacking, I'd definitely reccomend an 18" sub + crossover. Great speakers overall!

WOW Was right, using the Yamaha emx5000 Powered Mixer. right out of the box when we hooked them up was the first thing we said, WOW. these speakers have it all. highs, mids, and the lower 15 has huge Bottom, the built in crossover is the Best i ever heard. in fact these here is enough to use anywhere you play. it truly has it all from highs- Big Bottom. JBL knows how to do it, and they did it again. Great Job JBL.

Comments about JBL JRX125 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I've used these speakers in my business for over a year now, and I couldn't be happier! From the smallest bar to the biggest reception hall, these things ROCK. I've played outdoor festivals, Louisville, KY's Freedom Hall (college basketball arena), doesn't matter where... they never fail to perform. I drive them hard with a QSC RMX-2450 and have never had an ounce of trouble out of them. (Well, I did shake the liquor bottles off the counter at a local bar one night during a dance break, I was the new D.J. and a few of the regulars wanted to see how loud I could get!!) My suggestion to you, if you're thinking about purchasing these speakers, BUY BUY BUY!!!
