The JBL LSR 2310SP is a powered, magnetically shielded 230H 10" woofer and 180W RMS amplifier. The subwoofer speaker features integrated bass management crossover with selectable crossover settings and polarity control. The JBL speaker has left- and right-balanced XLR, 1/4", and unbalanced RCA inputs with detented level control as well as left- and right-balanced XLR and 1/4" high-passed outputs.

I purchased this sub after owning a KRK10S. I wasn't impressed by the sound quality. It sounded muddy and not warm like a ported sub should sound. I returned it for the JBL woofer. The KRK woofer had more power, much more power. But the JBL is just a better buy.

This is my first professional monitor setup for my own use mixing small projects, and I'll stand by my purchase as being worth the investment. Contrary to my earlier belief that having a pair of the 2305sp monitors would give me a sufficient representation of the end product, I found a whole range missing in my previous mixes that I had never heard before. In listening to music I've found that the sub does an excellent job of hiding within the mix transparently, and only in boomy rap music does it stand out on its own. This subwoofer has tons of power on reserve when you ask of it, and overall is a welcome addition to my setup.
