I'm a bass player so I love the low end. I put a single MP418S into service this weekend at a DJ gig and had people come up and ask me what kind of gear I'm using. Never had that before! I'll be using this sub for our band but we haven't gigged with it yet. Based on this weekend's performance I trust that I won't be disappointed. You won't be either!
Used with a pair of dual-SF15s or 25s, just one of these subs makes the whole place rock! 'Don't need two to shake the ground on this one. It's well worth the money!
Excellent sound & easy to handle - as much power you could possibly need from a sub of this compact size! Great cabinet quality & ease of power amp access. Finally, a compact sub that can handle my bass drums!
I use a pair of them now, I can play outside gigs with only 2 subs and they put out just as much as other subs with 2-18". if I want more low end I will buy 2 more, But I don't think I will need them.
I've owned my pair of JBL MP418S cabinets for over a year now. I have pounded the living you know what out of them and they just ask for more. I run two of them with a Crown CE4000 and they punch. I can rattle the bottles on the bar and shake the windows in the places we have played. Don't be fooled by the others, my drummer has a pair of Yamaha 18" subs and it's apples to oranges. Not that the Yamaha's are bad, they just don't hold a candle to the MP418S... my recommendation? Spend the extra money, you get what you pay for!!
This is the sound I have always wanted to capture. Easy to control and pure.
Excellent subwoofer, driven with a Crown amp. Can really pound out the bass.
