    Can't best this box!

    By Sharpsound

    from Easst Tennessee

I have been doing live sound for over 15 years for all types of music. These are some of the best ground stackable boxes on the market. I use a pair of these for shows without subs and still get plenty of bottom end. I plan on building pedestals so I can place them higher. The horns need to be six to eight feet off the floor. I do many shows where I have little stage or no stage.I run mine full range so, the horns get a little carried away. I do a little minus eq between 3.2 and 5K Hz to remove some of the harshness. It depends on the venue(room). I also have the SRX 218 subs, they're huge. I am looking to get the single 18 SRX subs for a more useable set-up. With the dual 18s you really need 2 pair of the 725s for better coverage. 74 degrees versus 150 or more. If you can afford these, buy them, you'll never be sorry.

    Perfect

For the medium-size venue, you simply cannot top two of these SRX725 on top of a pair of the matching SRX dual 18" subs. Throw 8k at each stack via Crown amps, and you're talking about the tightest output setup in the business. I've been using SRX-series for years, and these new ones (2007) just made my life easier. Lighter, faster response, simple and powerful assembly...cannot be beat. You're looking at the best.

    Review

    By Joshua-MjE1c

    from Monterey, California.

I spent the last 10 minutes writing a very detailed and very good review on how these speakers are amazing, then my browser crashed... But these speakers are so great that I have to finish this review. I'll remember to copy and paste this time for safety, ;).These speakers are pretty much the same sounding as the JBL JRX125's... AT low volumes. But when you raise the volumes of these guys, they blow away every other point source speaker I have ever heard.I sold my set of KF850's for these, because these were lighter and had more volume, and were less directional.WOW it was a great choice! These speakers easily blew away my $4000 KF850's.They ESPECIALLY shine at high volumes, I use a pair of JRX125's as front or side fills, and they go good together. And for subs I use the matching SRX728's.For a professional sounding system for large venues and crowds, I HIGHLY suggest purchasing this system! They are light, powerful, loud, compact (but not too compact to look unprofessional), and very great sounding!Good work JBL!

    Best In Class

    By Chris-iGELn

    from KENNEWICK, WA

I own a pair of these. They are more than the description says. First off they crave 1800 to 2400 watts a speaker not 1200 watts a speaker. So, don't buy one amp thinking it will be enough power. You want these bad boys to be within 20% of the program rating. So get 2 amps that have 2400 watts bridged. I own 2 pairs of the Yamaha S215V's and I use to think that they were comparable. They can even come close. Don't get me wrong. The Yamaha's rock, but these are just better for louder events and when the volume is cranked they handle it just fine. They are higher class of speaker. My Yamaha's sound a bit strained & not as clear at higher volumes. If you have the money buy these now. You will love your self for it. Trust me...

You will never buy another speaker

The SRX725's are monsters, both in stature and sound. Good for the stationary DJ(you will not want to carry these around as they are heavy) or a band playing for 10,000. They are loud and take any amount of power you can throw at them. In an array, they would be perfect for a touring national act. Add an 18" sub( I use the Yorkville Elite LS800's) or two and you have the clearest, most powerful PA system that you will ever hear. Be warned though, that these are almost too powerful for smaller venues, it is very hard to even turn them down. I run these with a Yorkville Powermax16 powered board and it throws 800 watts a side at them. I can only turn it up to 2 or 3(out of 10) before it becomes ear piercing. You would almost think they were powered because of the extreme sound with very little wattage applied. In a word, BUY! Spend the extra money now and you will feel safe and secure in the future knowing that you're getting the best sound and no worry of ever blowing the cones due to the quality construction.
