Accurately monitor low frequencies in your mix.
The 10s subwoofer is a perfect compliment to the KRK Rokits, VXT, or just about any other 4”-8” studio monitor. A must have for any bass heavy productions; the KRK 10s is designed to extend the low-frequency performance of an existing monitor system so that the low frequencies of a mix can be engineered properly.
For years, KRK subwoofers have been the choice for accurate low frequency monitoring in studios large and small. Now, the KRK10s provides a new standard for even better performance and accuracy, raising the bar once again. Whether you are mixing in a 2.1 or 5.1 surround environment or just looking to upgrade the low-frequency extension of your existing monitors, the KRK10s will provide the low frequency detail and accuracy that will help you to create a better mix. The design of the KRK10s includes front-firing ports which are just the right shape to reduce port turbulence. You'll appreciate the clean and accurate bass performance this approach delivers, even at high SPLs. With a sweepable 50Hz - 130Hz low pass filter, the KRK10s provides flexible control for any monitoring system.
Order the KRK 10s for your 2.1 or 5.1 mixing system today.

Comments about KRK 10s Active Subwoofer:
My first experience with the KRK 10S was at a friend's studio. His setup includes the KRK 10S and two KRK Rockit 8 speakers. At the time (a couple years ago), I owned only the KRK Rockit 6 speakers. The sound quality of the subwoofer impressed me at the time. I was sold on the product just from limited studio sessions.
Fast-foward to present time, I finally purchased the 10S and incorporated it into my setup. The setup was easy. MusiciansFriend delivered it quickly! The manual explains a bunch of things that you should already know if you're investing in this unit.
The 10S has a crisp response and great range. It complements my KRK Rockit 6s very well. I am pleased that the subwoofer is capable of both shaking my apartment to pieces, or just softly filling out the bottom end for quieter listening levels.
Upon listening to my favorite tracks by bass-heavy artists, I anticipate that the 10S is going to be a great aid in my sound design process. Anybody that has a doubt about the necessity of a subwoofer for sound-design: I highly recommend it.
The KRK 10s looks great, sounds great, and doesn't completely break my bank account. I look forward to the coming months as the woofer breaks-in.
As a side note, the only other reviewer currently gives the 10s a less-than-stellar rating, but he is not rating the quality of the woofer... just venting his frustration with MusiciansFriend.
