Comments about KRK Rokit Powered 8 G2 Limited Edition Studio Monitor (Ferarri Gray):
Great sound at low volume, tons of accurate bass, full of information (especially junk in your mix), sturdy build, and great price.
I've recorded in a lot of studios, and had several of my own, and as to clarity of sound I'm really blown away by these speakers. I've had a tendency to use headphones to mix due to either noise, financial, or space reasons in the past, but these were a great deal, and sound really great at low volumes. I have a high dollar set of headphones and compared the sound of them to these and was amazed at all the information I was getting out of the Rokits that wasn't even in my headphone mix! I'm not sure exactly how flat these are compared to other monitors beacause the bass is so good and so low, but I will say that they don't sugar coat anything. You hear every little mistake, fret buzz or even little glitches in keyboard patches. I was debating over the 6 or 8 inch versions and had been comparing the Mackie's, Yamaha, and Behringer monitors of similar price. They are a little bigger than I had imagined from seeing them online, but they are worth the space in your studio. Somewhere along the line of triangulating the speakers to my seated position in my studio, I found myself more lost in my mix than I ever have been with headphones. I don't know how much better monitors can get or if I would even know the difference if something was better. I am very pleased esecially at this price.
Solid speakers that come with some knobs to tweak and 220v-110 volt selector, very cool.
For this quality, the best deal around.

A very nice monitor. Sound quality is excellent and I like the fact that the ferrari grey model is a little more subtle looking than the normal yellow cones.

Give them a shot, your mix will love you for it.
I picked up a pair of the Rokit Powered 8 G2 Limited Edition Studio Monitors when they were the 'Stupid Deal of the Day'. I just got them yesterday and must say that, so far, I am impressed. My prior monitors were 4", so this is a drastic difference. I instantly had to start tweaking the low end of my mixes. These monitors provide superior low end clarity. As noted by Rokit, these monitors do not add coloration to your mix, don't boost low end or add volume. It seems that you truely hear your mix, the way you mixed it. The variety of inputs is impressive, as is the ability to ajust the input volume. The ability to tweak the HF volume to compensate for your room is also nice. And to top it off, these monitors just look great! In my opinion, the Rockit Powered 8 G2's would be a great addition to any project studio. I'm currently using these monitors for near-field monitoring with:
MacBook Pro
ProTools LE 8.0.4
Digi 003
Appear to be well built, solid monitors.
Again, I picked these up as 'The Stupid Deal of the Day' so I got them slightly cheaper than regular price, but regardless they seem to be a great value.
