KRK's glass-aramid cone technology ensures solid performance and incredible accuracy!

KRK's Rokit G2 (Generation 2) powered studio monitor is designed to give amazing performance and accuracy for the home or project studio. The G2 Rokit studio monitor has radically curved edges which virtually eliminate diffraction and provides a wider sweet spot. The Rokit G2 monitor also features a great looking cabinet with a front-firing bass port and KRK's trademark yellow glass-aramid composite woofer and soft-domed tweeters. Dual high-power amplifiers in each speaker and active crossovers provide smooth and accurate reproduction. The Rokit monitor has the most accurate response curve in its class ensuring that you hear all of the details in your mix.

The KRK RokitG2 Series takes value-priced monitors to a new performance level. All of the great stuff that Rokit monitors have been known for (front-firing bass port, soft-domed tweeter, glass-aramid composite yellow cone) are still there, but the G2 Rokit's feature refined voicing and a new curved baffle that looks great, reduces diffraction and provides even better monitoring accuracy.

Welcome to the all new Generation 2 RoKit Powered

Studio Monitor Series from KRK Systems. For years the Rokit series has been a popular choice for accurate monitoring in studios large and small. Now the all new Generation 2 Rokit monitor provides a new standard for even better performance and accuracy, raising the bar once again.

        No Pain With Gain

Why compromise gain structure to achieve a comfortable listening level? As musicians and recording people themselves, KRK asked that question too. So each Generation 2 Rokit monitor comes with an Input Volume Control that provides an adjustable gain range from +6dB to -30dB. Just another way Rokit lets you focus on your mix, and not on compatibility concerns.

        Catch A Wave, For A 3D Mix

Recessed tweeters may look the same, but they don't perform the same. KRK has designed a superior tweeter wave guide for the Rokit that provides optimal high frequency pattern control and focuses the sound outward, away from the cabinet. More conventional designs direct sound along the plane of the cabinet where waveform interaction can cause phase problems and increased diffraction. KRK knows a properly engineered high frequency wave guide is a critical component to great sound, and one key to KRK's award winning performance.

        You've Got Connections

At KRK, the focus is your mix. But it doesn't stop at creating accurate monitors. KRK appreciates the need for monitors that not only sound great but work easily into your particular set up. That's why you'll find plenty of input options with your Rokit, sure to accommodate any studio environment. So if it's RCA, quarter-Inch (balanced/unbalanced) or XLR inputs you require, Rockit has got you covered.

        Even More Accurate Than Before

KRK took a great monitor series and made it better. KRK's engineers and listening panel took the Generation 2 Rokit's speaker voicing to even more accurate levels. What you hear is what you are intended to hear, coloration is not part of the spec. This performance is brought to you by drivers that are custom-designed by KRK's world-class studio monitor engineering team, for clear, low-distortion performance.

        Take Control

While your Generation 2 Rokit leaves the factory voiced to demanding specs, KRK also knows that no two rooms "sound" the same. As such, each Rokit comes equipped with a High Frequency Level Control. This feature provides specific adjustment of high frequency output most commonly affected by room acoustics. It's just one extra level of control that KRK gives you to ensure the most accurate mix for your particular room's acoustics.

        Don't Be Square, Curves Ahead

The new Rockit monitor looks different, so it can sound better, and in a wider "sweet spot". Traditional rectangular speakers suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the original sound field, and at different time intervals. This phase distortion creates a "narrow" or boxy" sound. The Generation 2 Rokit monitor series eliminates this issue with radically engineered curved surfaces,
so diffraction is virtually eliminated. Simply put, you'll get better sound in a wider area.

        Let's Be Up Front

Take a look at competitive monitors and you'll find ports on the back of the cabinet. These rear-firing ports tend create bass coupling with walls and corners amplifying low frequency information which will color your mix. The superior design of the KRK Generation 2 Rokit monitors include front-firing ports, which are just the right shape and taper to reduce port turbulence. You'll appreciate the clean and accurate bass performance, this approach delivers, even at high SPLs.

        Power Up!

A great sounding monitor doesn't stop with a great cabinet and custom drivers. KRK's true bi-amplified amplifier system provides discrete low-distortion power for each driver. While the active crossover systems provide smooth and accurate frequency response, and again, accurate diffraction control.

Note: Monitors are sold as singles.

Now that I have these for a least a month and have three songs completed under my belt on these, I think I can give a review. Yes, they are heavy so I had to upgrade my stands; too expensive and too nice of a monitor to be bouncing off of the floor!! The quality and workmanship is very nice. The four screws that hold the front baffle on are all aligned the same. That tells me that there is attention to detail. Sound wise these are the best I have used so far. I have some Event 20/20?s at work and have used JBL at my previous site. The imaging of these is amazingly accurate. I can pretty much place the instruments where I want them. I had to adjust the HF down -6db because my mixes were not very articulate above 6k. As a side note, I using a set of Behringer 2030 passive monitors to bounce off of driven by a Crown D-75A amp. I put a couple pieces of toilet paper over the Behringers tweeters to somewhat balance them out to sound close to the KRKs. Hey, whatever works right? Back to the KRKs. The mids are very nice. As a matter of fact, I?m working with a woman that has an extended vocal range and these monitors revealed that I needed to upgrade my microphone!!! I never heard the ?oh so? faint noise that was going on in the mic until now. The bass?. hmmmm......interesting. I have to agree with one reviewer that said the bass maybe a little too tight on these. It is not a con as he duly noted. Good bass on these means a little too much bass on my RF82 Klipschs and my car stereo. Strange, normally there should be a lack of bass in the translation I would think. Moving the monitors closer to the wall corrected the problem. Like I said, interesting. I do believe KRK?s bass response numbers are right on because I can hear things changing around the 50-53 Hz range. All and All I am feel that my hard earned cash was well spent. I?ve ordered some MR8 Mackies as a second set of reference monitors so it should be interesting to see how I can bounce off of the two. I know will eventually save up for a pair of the Exposes?. Good work KRK.

I'll get right to the nitty gritty. I owned the 6's, the 8's, and the 10" sub at some point. I love KRK to death but I'm going to be 100% honest. Save your money and get you a pair of Yamaha Hs80s. I got these first because I loved the way they sound over the Yamaha's. However, when it came to my mixes it showed. Your mixes sound amazing on these but on other systems, not so much. They're horribly inaccurate

These do NOT translate well and by well I mean not good enough to land you a "Best Engineer Award". Once again being honest, they do have a wide sweet spot and basses come out crisp and clean. HOWEVER, when you bounce mixes, they come out too bassy, or bass deficient. I'd have too make multiple runs back and forth to other systems, cars, and studios get a clean mix. Bought the Yamaha Hs80s, Mixes came to life and got the right mix in one too two tries. They translate better and sound BIG and FULL. Your music does NOT sound good on the yammies so when you get it to sound good on them they really shine anywhere else. The KRKs have a false sound. Once again, coming from someone who owned them for 3+ years, I'd recommend saving your pennies and grabbing a pair of Yamaha's.

If I had to say what I'd use the KRKs for, I'd say use them as DJ speakers. For engineering, NO! you'd be doing your mixes a disservice.

I have had a pair of Rokit eights for two years. They sound great but they are not very accurite in the long run. The speakers are great for begginers and even intermediates. They are durable and sleek looking but they are HEAVY. They are pretty good for recording purposes but they are amazing to just chill out and listen to music on.

This is my first pair of reference speakers. I've been a DJ for too many years to recount, however I just got into learning audio mastering in the last few years when I decided my live recorded mixes needed a bit of polishing.

Since I dont have experience with other reference speakers I can't compare, but I can tell you that I hear sounds in these speakers I never knew existed. I love them. So glad I made the purchase.

I've Had A Pair Of These For A While & I Must Say That They Sound Great! They Convinced Me That I Should Pick Up The Rokit 5s, One Rokit 6 & Another Back Up 8. I Love The Sound They Pump Out, Not To Mention The Various Hook Ups They Have. I Love The Standard Colors, But They Also Come In Some Other Finishes That Are Pleasing To The Eye. If You Are Looking To Produce Hip-Hop Or Electronic Music, Give These A Try. They Are Not A Waste Of Time Or Money.

Comments about KRK Rokit Powered 8 Generation 2:

these monitors are amazing. i have never heard music pronounced as clearly as these monitors display them. just amazing.
has everything you need to easily hook it up.
an xlr input and an trs input.
a volume control and a hf input level.
              theyre extremely rugged.
theyre very heavy! and they dont seem like they will break in the next few years!
theyre very very loud, they sound amazing.

if youre not doing any mixing where you need deep sub bass like dub step or dance or bass heavy metal these will do it for you, they will produce the bass for those genres, just probably not as much as you want them to.
i love em, im so glad i didnt go with anything else! amazing monitors!

Very true to your artifacts and flaws.

              By J White

              from Tulsa, Oklahoma!

Comments about KRK Rokit Powered 8 Generation 2:

I found the monitors too high mid focused for my tastes, but very revealing for compression artifacts and an almost unforgiving character that made this series a must for reference mixing. The old sine wave trick showed where I had some problems with my room, these beasts have some low end packed into them! You really have to back away to hear what the subbass is doing though, I expected deeper character.
The units come standard with HF cut switches and volume bias, the rest is your input stages. I found the 8's to be very high frequency focused, so the high switches got some use out of me. Simple and straight to the point, if I had anything to say.
Strong build, high quality aesthetics and dead useful series for beginning mixing or home theater. Impresses clients quickly, I might add.
Great for the price if you're looking for an abrupt boost in monitoring quality without having to re-mortgage the house.

Comments about KRK Rokit Powered 8 Generation 2:

I've had these monitors for a couple of weeks now and put them through the wringer. Figured if they were going to break, I wanted them to break now. I played every instrument in my studio through them, Electric Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, and Electric Drums. Now granted, I can't get the low-end boom that my 15" main speakers in my PA provide, but those 8" speakers took everything I could give and kept going.... and sounded good in the process! Plenty of power, plenty of bass for getting an accurate mix. I've now tracked two full songs through them and my mixes sound much better. And, the finished product sounds good no matter what system I listen to them on (car, home stereo, little boom box). They do what they are designed to do! If you are on a budget, consider these.
Every input you might need in the studio.... XLR, RCA, 1/4... adjustable high frequency, and bass port in the front. Ample power and sound output. And, as a bonus, the KRK logo on the front lights up when the power is on, so you don't forget to turn them off.
No complaints at all. Well built, sturdy, solid... and heavy. And most importantly... the sound is awesome. Not colored, but gives a very clear/honest soundscape.
Hands down... best value of the near-field monitors I considered.

Comments about KRK Rokit Powered 8 Generation 2:

I received the first shipment damaged. Sent it back and within 4 days got another set, this time in brand new condition. Sound quality is very good. I think the 8?s sound is much deeper and better than the 6?s. Bass is deep and powerful. One problem: there is an amplifier hiss even if cables are not connected. I checked on line and called the KRK?s support. I was told that this is common thing and I should not be worry. To be honest I was a little annoyed for first few days, but now I don?t pay attantion anymore. Esthetically I didn?t care much about yellow woofer, but I can live with it. Great value, good quality, powerful bass- you can?t go wrong with Rokit 8.
