KSE-215H, built with Eminence variant drivers. Tweeters being APT50 variant, and Woofers being Gamma15A variants. Spec to Spec they are identical in every capacity, even the electrical performace. The ONLY issue is the tweeter has a 15% reduction resistor, which makes the tweeter a bit dim, but once i jumped it, it brought it to life to the point I had to EQ it down a bit at high volumes. I have driven them to 1200 watts and they handle it nicely. The majority of the time I am using them indoors such as Gymnasiums running about 800 watts through them. They match perfectly with the Behringer iNuke NU4-6000 amplifier. which is 830 x4 at 4 ohm and 3000 x2 at 4 ohms bridged intot 2 channels. I built my own wattage meter so I can run it bridged to protect them from being over driven. I did hit 1400 watts once with some music that did not have any low end bass to it. I stuck to 1200 watts maximum after that in fear of blowing the tweeters.. which are only 25 bux and the Woofers, the Gamma 15A-2 are 85 bux from Eminence. If I ever blow the Woofers, I will likely go to Dayton as they handle triple the power for less cost.

When they are working they sound decent! They are just too fragile.
Features are Good
I own 2 of these and after around 5 gigs the cone and the gasket came apart on the speakers for one of them. 20 gigs later it happened to the other one. The tech I took it to said it was bad design and a bad glue job on the speakers. I never overpowered them or kept them in bad conditions (they were always inside cool and dry place).
Can't beat the price

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I have had these speakers for around 7 years give or take a year. I have abused the heck out of them and they just keep on working. I have run well over 1000 watts to each one for long periods of time and they still wouldn't blow. They are punchy and clear. The highs are clean and the lows are powerful. When playing medium and small sized venues I never need subs with these. I see the price has gone up since I bought mine. But they are still worth every penny. Mine have been dropped of the back of a pickup truck more than once. slid across the bed on their sides knocked over in a couple of bars. The only thing that ever happened was the vinyl started pealing after a about a year. That's an easy fix. Just peal the stuff off and paint them. takes a couple hours over the course of a couple days if you want to put several coats of paint.

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I bought two of these speakers for DJ/karaoke use in a semi-fixed installation, and occassional mobile DJ-ing. While they are heavy, and would be a pain to move two or three times per week, they're great for a club where you can leave them set up. The sound is nice and clear, good bass, and crisp highs. As others have noted, a little tweaking with an eq will take your sound from "good" to "amazing", and a good amp is a must. I use a Peavy mixer, dBx eq, and a Crown DriveLine (XLS1500) amp, and get great sound, even in smaller venues where I don't use my subs (2 X Seismic 18" Down Firing, with a Crown XLS2000 amp).

These speakers are built very solidly, with good quality components, and hold up very well. If you know what you're doing, run a good quality amp with plenty of power, and stick to the RMS power rating of the speakers, they'll give you years of good service and great sound.

    LOUD AND CLEAR

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

Just got them yesterday - have been trying them out - both with recorded music (which were way to loud for my practice area) - and playing some acoustic mic'd guitar and vocals through them. I am running them off of a Crown XLS 1000 (rated 350 watts per channel) and these things sound great. Clear, bright, beefy bass, all ranges. So far so good. I am glad I bought them. My son is very excited because his rock band plans on using them too. Great deal for the money - if nothing else - use them for practice and backups for your expensive cabinets. But if you are on a budget - these will treat you just fine. Excellent value.

TOO heavy! Not good for Mobile DJ

    By Nick Monge

    from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I used to use these for vocals in a band but now use them for mobile DJ applications and have mixed feelings about them. First and foremost, they are HEAVY! ~90 lbs. each and very akward to maneuver. 2 man job, for sure. Second, they're HUGE and, unless you have a pickup truck or van, are a nightmare to transport. Third, they don't have amazing bass reponse. They sound punchy because frequencies around 100hz to 500hz are emphasized, but they've got nothing below about 65hz. The high frequencies are wishy washy at best," too. Now for some good things: I used them once with an 18"" subwoofer and was very satisfied with the results. Once again", though, highs were missing. They are indeed pretty dang loud too, I'll give them that. I give them a moderate 5 rating because the size and weight are way too much to deal with for the mediocre sound quality, especially if you're doing mobile DJing and playing a lot of music with low frequency information (dance, hip hop, dubstep). However, if you're not an audiophile, don't plan to move them, and volume is your cup of tea, consider these.

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

If you don't know a lot about sound, these cabinets are an excellent starting point for you! Punchy bass, clean, crisp highs... and enough power to handle the events you will book when starting out with live sound or with a dj rig. For a full-range cabinet, they are balanced very well. As far as hookups go, mixer line out to amp in, and speaker out to 1/4" posts on the speaker... Nothing simpler than that. No crossover or other equipment necessary. Take a chance and buy 4 if you need a bigger sound... but have a trailer or cube van!

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I had to purchase these because I purchased the exact same type of cabs from another company and their speakers were blowing like popcorn. Every two weeks another speaker would blow. I?ve had these Kustoms for over a month now playing outside gigs, and I?ve never gotten my 300 watt Crown amp over half way. The bass KICKS, and the high?s are spot on. I am a one man act that records music in my home studio and then performs live with the recordings. I?m running my guitar and the recorded music through these speakers with drums, bass, and strings, and it produces ALL of it perfectly (I am running a graphical EQ) Get em now if your thinking about it before the price goes up. They are built well, sound great, and have a 2 year warranty. You can?t loose.

i ordered these cabinets i while ago and when they got to my house i opened them up and was very pesimist to how these would sound, because they were relatively smaller than others i have used. when i hooked them up to my XLS 602 i was impressed, i used them in a gig that could have easily been 800 people there. i used only two of these and the sound was crisp and great.. i can't be any happier

Our Christian Rock group now has four of these, along with other cabinets, and after putting wheels on them, you couldn't ask for a better buy. MUST be careful moving them, as you would with ANY sound equipment. I made sure they worked, and the second thing I did....put wheels on them! I already had two of these. More power means more speakers...so I went with what works and got two more! Had a few sent to me that were damaged in shipping...but that's not the fault of the speakers or Musician's Friend. I have a Christian "concert" group and we cant wait to use ALL four of these babies (plus our other 15s, 18s and 12s). I put locking wheels on everything and did the same with these the day they came in. Wheels make my life easier! LOL With the 15,000 watts we have these should be a great addition!!!!

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

Okay, I couldn't stand it anymore so I took them apart...Why do these sound so great? First, let me say, you really need two people to flex the steel grill for removal and installation, or you risk injuring your fingers..it's very strong, and installed in a curve under pressure, in grooves in the cabinet. I know this voids the waranty, but for what I paid..who cares...I had to know. Inside, the compression driver has kse stock numbering (a familiar speaker often incorrectly labeled as the "better one available only at dealers" on internet forums.) It appears to be an eminence apt50 variant with integral threads to make it a normal driver that needs no adaptor. The woofers have a HUGE vented magnet and from the surround spider and magnet visual details appear to be eminence gamma or kappa series. I didn't remove them to look for stock numbers, but one look inside the back was plenty from a quality impression perspective. Very impressive. The crossover has two fuses ala eminence replacement lights for tweeter protection and is neatly assembled. There are separate inputs for each woofer, even though they are clearly paralleled on the board. Inside the box is divided into three compartments separating the drivers, and there is ample acoustic fiberglass everywhere with the wiring carefully run through small holes in the material where necessary. Everything is neat and tidy and there are no rattles before or after this investigation. While I was in there, I swapped the tweeters for some peavey xt14s. As good as these were before, now they are a little easier to eq for our particular mix of instruments (mandolin is a little crisper)...I had these peaveysin a set of monitors and the crossovers are clearly very compatible for this swap, both sound great. Just wanted to share the internals for folks who might still be wondering...these ARE the sleeper deal you are looking for if you are a new, tight budget band. Get'em.

      Bargain Speaker Cabs That Bump!

      By Rick-DRvdO

      from Washington, DC

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I picked up a pair of these bargain 2x15" PA speakers recently and so far, I am very happy with them. The overall mid-range is a little muddy, but the bass is really punchy and the highs are crisp, which is good enough for me and EQ helped round it out a bit. I would have liked to have seen Speakon connectors in the back and it looks like the Tolex wrap isn't going to last long, but the rest of the cab is made well for the most part. I have purchased Kustom speakers and amps in the past and short of a pole mount that broke and some wiring I had to fix, they have been decent products for the price. Also: ALWAYS GO BY RMS RATING, NOT PEAK/MUSIC RATING WHEN POWERING CABS! It's amazing how many people blow up their gear, then blame it on the speakers/amps. Read the specs, match your watts and impedance, and enjoy your gear lasting longer.

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I've had these for a couple of months now and have had several gigs with them. I do live sound and DJ work, and these speakers have sufficient bass for both applications. I've taken them apart and they have compression horns with energy-dissipating crossovers...something you normally only find on much more expensive speakers. My only complaints are that they are HEAVY, and the covering material scratches fairly easily. I'm thinking about carpeting them, but they sound fantastic. I run 400 WPC via a SoundTech PS802 Digital amp, and I've had other DJs compliment me on my setup. Get these...and a few friends...and a truck. You'll have some killer speakers that get incredibly loud! [ask my neighbors]

Comments about Kustom KPC215H 2x15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I've been wanting a P.A. with 2-15's out front for many years. No reason other than I like the way they look. I primarily play country, southern rock and blues and have been for 45 yrs now. I've had these speakers cranked extremely loud inside my house w/o any problems. Played two outdoor gigs and one of the bottom speakers blew. Wasn't bad at first, just heard a popping noise so we backed off the kick drum and the bass a little and finished the night. Called MF, they said I didn't buy their warranty so I'd have to call Kustom so I did. I explained what happened and sent them a few pictures of the speaker. The man said, it sounds like you know what you're talking about no problem, we'll send you another one. It came as fast as expected but it appeared as if it had been hit by a forklift in just the wrong place. Note: If you get a pkg that looks the least bit damaged, take pictures BEFORE you open it! I took the speaker out and the frame had been slightly bent (crushed). Nothing was broken but the cone was all twisted and bent w/o being torn or even loose. I took 5 pics of this and sent e-mail back. Man at Kustom apologized profusely and promised another speaker ASAP. He wanted to know if I wanted to take it to someone local to install the new speaker, I said no, easy enough to put back in. Next few days it was here in perfect shape. Sounds great and they didn't even ask for the other speakers back! I've heard a lot of bad comments on dealer service from many companies but I was very impressed with Kustom's service! Not one person ever gave me the slightest hint of trouble during this. I'll by their equipment again as long as I'm treated that way!

This is truly a sleeper of a deal. Are you a musician who takes care of his gig gear? Then the plastic handles and corner protectors will serve fine, thank you very much...or change them later. Thes speakers are a touch midrange heavy as is, but with a touch of eq they positively sparkle and pound! I went from mildly disappointed to blown away by simply taking the time to put the eq back in line...worth the extra few minutes when you get these home to hook it all up before the first turn on. Now I'm astonished at the clarity and effortless bass...not bad at all! Get 'em!
