I have been using the same unit for three years, both rehearsal and gigs. Only had as problem once (crackling) and repair was covered in full by warranty. Only wish circuitry gave me more access to EQ (for monitor out, etc). Great FX, clarity, and dependability (and a great price).
...it's a great small amp, and be realistic with expectations on sound and load. Great for school, kids, and starter groups and vocals. Matched with the 15 in K cabs, you'll have a basic PA and a great price. It get's the job done, especially for small information gatherings indoors, or social settings. Be realistic, if you want to play, you will not be able to blast and blow away the guests and neighbors. Get it and you won't be disappointed. I ran a micro roland and it screams, told to lower the volume, and it carried to vocal mics and another guitar on the channel. If you have children, teens, or starter band, this will get it done without breaking your wallet or back. I'm just a guy who likes to play songs and entertain, and this line of Kustom does it.
I use this mixer in my acoustic duet...works great! The only beef I have is the "tone" control on the individual channels. Kustom should have went the extra mile and put a bass and treble control. The 7 band EQ works well and is very musical. It would be nice if the FX loop worked separate from the onboard FX too. It does have useful patching options though. I run the preamp out into a Crown CE1000 to power my mains, the monitor out to an EQ and back to the pwr amp in input to pwr my monitors. Good warm sound with a little tweaking. The digital Are musical tho the chorus/reverb patch is useless in my opinion. I usually just use the "large room" reverb and get my delay from a BOSS delay unit.
i used this last night at my first dj gig. i am extremely pleased with it. i run this to 2 kustom 115s with a gem sound xps1000 power amp so im not underpowering anything. it gets a really nice sound, it has a few effects. would have been nice if auto tune was one of them...but hey im not t-pain so its all good. i have not used it with my band yet though but i am excited to set it up. i do reccomend this myxer though. its pretty sweet.
This thing burned up right in the middle of band practice one night while playing at low volume. (about 3) I smelled electrical burning and it quit. I checked the fuse and it was blown, I replaced it four times and each time I turned it on the fuse blew. I'm just glad this didn't happen at a gig. It was less than one year old and still under warranty, but Kustom won't honor it because I didn't send in the warranty card within ten days of purchase. Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware)
I bought this as a package deal about 3+ years ago, complete with speakers, etc, and I have to say it has more than paid for itself since I've had it. A great little Amp. I would recommend this for any small set up.
