Would like an XLR OUTput on the powered model.

If you need more power look to the larger models, but also look at the Behringer Eurolive with the 12 inch speaker, it kicks out 500 clean watts, I have one of the them too and it is a very good product, you can even use as a main for an acoustic gig..those go for $250 and worth every penny and more.
I recently bought two of the unpowered and two of the powered ones. As I get older my gigs are becoming more "low volume" rooms or acoustic gigs. I have some great stage monitors that kick out 300 watts and some powered ones that kick out 200 and 500, but I'm not getting younger and looking to lighten my load and the stress on my back. For the size rooms we are playing these monitors are amazingly good considering the price. Yes they are cheap Chinese made monitors, but what's not made in China these days. I am happy with the powered ones as well. Everyone can hear them, and the powered ones of course are individually adjustable. So for small rooms and low volume or acoustic gigs these are perfect, very light to carry, and take up no room in the trunk or SUV. It's amazing with todays miniaturization how much sound you can get out very small equipment. Would I use them for big outdoor gigs...no way, but for the average size room for a country band, or an acoustic gig, they get the job done, cheaply and efficiently. At 61 I'm not into carrying 50 lb speakers and up if I don't have to.
Quality is consistent with the price. I was suprised at how good it was given the price.
Value is in the low cost, small size and light weight

Bought it on sale just for the cabinet, figuring that I'd have to replace the internal components with better ones that I have laying around. But I was actually surprised it sounds as good as it does. I love the compact footprint and I would try it as is, but the 60 watt RMS rating is just too low for my application. Depending on your needs/preferences, this may or may not be the monitor for you. If all you're looking for is a reference for your vocals in a low volume situation, you may find this satisfactory. Or you could run two of them for more volume. However, if you're looking for LOUD front-of-house quality with crystaline highs, look elsewhere.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC10M 10" Monitor Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

Bought 4 Kustom KPC10M Monitors from Musicians Friend 8 years ago. Used them with a Carvin monitor amp, 250 RMS. per side for 6 years, now with Crown XLS 2000 @ 650 RMS. per channel one or two weekends a month; sometimes more, and these little monitors Kick-ss. Best part about them is they "DON'T" take up much space, I set them at the base of my mike stand pointing strait up and they work flawless. 7 years ago I called Kustom and they sent me attenuator jack plates so we can back off the volume at the speaker and as the band gets louder we can turn them up at the monitor!!! "VERY COOL"!

Comments about Kustom PA KPC10M 10" Monitor Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I've been looking for this exact size cab for a long while. It's the perfect size and dynamic for chamber music and jazz trio gigs- I use it as my bass cab with a GK MB200 head, and my 6-string sounds great through it. At some point I'll swap out the speaker for a 200-watt bass speaker, but it works fine for now. Great clean sturdy construction, very lightweight, clear articulate tone. Very inexpensive with free shippping. A huge bargain.

No real complaints about anything. You get what you pay for. If you want something high-end, you will have to pay it.
This is a simple monitor without any bells or whistles, but it is all that I was looking for. Great price.
This monitor gets the job done. It's not very large - so easily portable. It produces enough sound for a small venue.
Great price for a low-end monitor.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC10M 10" Monitor Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

Couldn't ask for a better fit for my application. I am a solo guitar player in a restaurant setting. I place these facing the wall behind me (I use refective sound setup because of the tables directly in front of me) and my PA sits perfectly on top of them. They work great in that setting and also outdoors where I can crank them. For my application the bass response is fine. I consider the overall tonal response very good. The construction is very solid. I expect to be using these for years to come!

Comments about Kustom PA KPC10M 10" Monitor Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I use this as my main monitor while singing with my rock band. Works well for me, but not so well for the guys to my left or right, if you want to use it for more than one person, I recommend getting more than one. But all in all, a great value and works well for me.
I use this as my monitor while singing with my rock band. Has to be pointed pretty much at me to be funtional, you may want to look into a bigger monitor if you expect to use it for more than one person. But all in all, it does just what I need it to.

    Great as a bass monitor

Comments about Kustom PA KPC10M 10" Monitor Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I recently started playing with a big band, and due to the sometimes less-than-optimal stage arrangement, had been having problems hearing myself over the horns and drums (I have a big 4x10 rig, but sometimes have to place the cab beside me or quite a ways away.) I tried using a smaller monitor, but it just wasn't putting out the low frequencies for me. I bought this unit on sale, and could not be happier. It's got clean sound even down low. Since it's 50 watts and I'm using it for bass, I do have it fairly close to me (I set it on top of my rig and point it at my head so I can hear), but for what I'm using it for, it's perfect.
Kustom KPC10M 10" monitor speaker cab with horn - Solid, basic unpowered monitor. 8 ohms, so daisy chained off my 4x10 cabinet with no problems. There's no onboard volume control, but for my use that's not an issue. If you run it from a board with a dedicated monitor slider, you won't have any issues either
So far so good. It's solid, but not horrendously heavy. The metal grill on the front protects the speaker cone and horn. I haven't had it for too long, but it seems like it should hold up well to frequent setup/teardown type conditions. Good clear sound, even down on my low strings (I play a five string). Volume balance between low and high is quite even.
I paid a great price for it, and given the clarity of sound and solidness of build, I give this a 10+

Bought a pair of KPC10M 10" MONITOR SPEAKER CABINET WITH HORN! We have them set up on Tripod Stands facing the band next to my outside speakers also on stands. The problem I was having with my other bulkier, heavier monitors on the ground was getting feedback all the time. Now that I have the KCP10M's on tripod stands, there's no more feedback and can be heard clearly by all band members! They work great and the price was right!

I have a trio that plays small venues, Country Clubs and Private Clubs. I purchased Four of these for "close" set up situations. We use two as "speakers on a stick" for the audience, and two as floor monitors. They are FANTASTIC! We don't hear "Can you turn it down", or "We can't hear the singing". Now I understand the old saying "The best things come in small packages". KPC10M, where have you been all my life. Thanks.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC10M 10" Monitor Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

I have purchased six of these monitors - four for my band and two for church. They are very good for the price. Sturdy, decent sound, small and light-weight. You can link them in series if you have a good monitor amp. The only problem I have had (with several of them) is that the plastic nuts on the 1/4" input jacks loosen up and fall off. You can't find replacements in the store - apparently proprietary - but I emailed Kustom and they sent me replacements free, no questions asked. Pretty impressive. I would buy these again.

This monitor has 4 and 1/2 stars for a reason..it's just that good! I was so pleased with my first one, I ended up buying a second! It's a really nice monitor. Good looking, compact, and light. Perfect if you don't have a lot of room, or if you want something light! As for sound, it's pretty good. Not pro sound, but still good enough. It sounds a little "mid-y" at first, but with the right adjustments you can get it sounding reallll nice. Get it while it's on sale! Only complaint is that the 2nd one was a little dinged up out of the box...

        New use for these monitors!!

        By Jeffrey Hudson PERIL

        from Michigan

Comments about Kustom PA KPC10M 10" Monitor Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

First off I always want to say thank you to Musicians Friend for being on time with almost everything I order! I bought these monitors for something a little different than most people use them for. I use them as guitar monitors.. WAIT!! Let me explain.. My usual stage rig goes something like this, Anything from Gibson Explorers to BC Rich Custom V's and Warlocks and EVERYTHING in between. For tone I use a Boss GT-8 connected in stereo with an ADA caninet emulator to get the sound to the mixing board. Power amp, power conditioner, wireless, EQ and tuner are all rackmounted also. Then I would push 1 or 2 Laney 4x12 celestion loaded cabinets from around the early 90's. Sounds great but BIG and bulky... So, to help out on stage sound levels I decided to try this little set up.. All the same components minus the Laney's.. Disconnect the horn, then wire a Speakon connector, EQ them a bit and they reproduce guitar sounds great!! NO BULK and NO VOLUME ISSUES becuase the sound is coming at you and not toward the crowd! The speakers seem to hanldle all the clean tones and the LOW b chunk of a seven string just fine! Space them a little ways apart and enjoy that great Stereo guitar sound! At this price I had to try it.. Glad I did!

Comments about Kustom PA KPC10M 10" Monitor Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

Often times you can buy this box for less than the usual price. The box is well made and just what you want for the stage. For the regular price of this box you know it can't have good speakers in it. Sure there's a real ten inch speaker in it, but it's not worth ten cents. The plastic tweeter is probably worth five cents. So you just take those speakers out and put good ones in. For keyboard or guitar you can just leave the tweeter in there and disconnect it. I put high quality Celestion ten inch speakers in these boxes I bought. Of course you can buy Kustom boxes with good speakers in them already, but it's very easy to buy the lowest priced ones, same good boxes, and just put your own speakers in them. Buy something like those legendary 10 inch Eminence Red Coat guitar speakers, these boxes are perfect for that. You can't get a better box.

Bought 2 of these monitors to use with a Fender Passport PA system at several small venues. They work very well and the sound is excellent. They are small and portable which is what I was looking for. Would highly recommend them if you don't need a large monitor. I like the fact that they can be mounted on a speaker stand or just sat on the floor in several different positions. Just what I was needing.

Great price to value ratio. Currently using a daisy-chained pair as floor monitors on a 15' x 15' stage at a local youth center. Vocals show up loud and clear. The kids are 6 to 15 years old. Didn't want anything expensive, because it is just a matter of time before they get kicked or have something dumped on them. Pleasantly surprised with quality the of sound and how solidly they are built. Will likley order more Kustom products in the future.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC10M 10" Monitor Speaker Cabinet with Horn:

Great value and sound, but.... I received this monitor on the day of a performance. Taking it out of the box, I heard loose objects rattling around inside the cabinet. In a panic, I unscrewed the plate that the speaker in/outputs are mounted on and looked inside. Two wooden corner braces had come off at some point in time. They looked as though they had never been attached, although they had small amounts of dried glue on them. Obviously, no screws were ever used to mount them. With my past experience in manufacturing and quality control, it was obvious that haste and a lack of proper inspection were the culprits. The manufacturer needs to slow down and inspect the products better before packaging them. I removed the braces and will continue using the monitor, because I don't know what else to do. There's hardly enough room to reattach them properly.

My recommendation for purchase is to buy on-site from a music store so that you can inspect for defects before buying. Or, buying online is ok if you have ample time to return the product before use. I didn't, so I'm stuck with it.

Overall, it sounded great and served the purpose I had intended it for.

                Caveat emptor.
