Usage info:I use these regularly on a portable DJ / karaoke rig, powerd by a Behringer Europower PMP-3000. These get moved a lot and take a lot of little bumps and such. I've pushed these suckers pretty hard at least 15 hours a week for the last seven months solid and have had no problems. Both of the pair that I use have had hard drops, each resulting in a bass "buzz" coming out of the back of the speaker. In both cases, removed a handle and re-glued the internal brace with some Elmer's and bango! Been working flawlessly ever since. I live in Florida, where the average humidity locally is between 60% and 80%, and the NDF (or particle-board as some folks call it) in these seems to be holding up fine even though I keep 'em stored in the gigmobile when not in use.The good:These are nice affordable speakers that when properly powered and mixed make for excellent budget sound for small-to-medium venues. You can definitely put some good bass in a place with these, but for serious dance floor boom I always recommend using a dedicated subwoofer. The bad:The only bad comment I have about these is if you want to use them on pole stands... The pole stand mounts on these speakers fit poles fairly tightly, which can make taking these speakers back off the stands tricky. Also, although the screw system used to hold the pole mounts is good, the mount itself is plastic, and can crack or break free around the existing screw heads. INSTANT FIX FOR THIS: If you plan on putting these on poles, take one of the mounting screws out of one of the pole mount fittings, go down to your local hardware store, and buy a few 3/4" flat steel washers (I paid 25 cents each) and beef up the pole mount. Takes only a couple minutes, will save you headaches later.Good product. Does what it says. Would buy another set of these again in a heartbeat.

I bought a pair of these and a pair of the 10" Monitors, all four cabinets rattle when the volume is turned up. I sent them back under warranty once, then re-glued all of the wood joint bracing inside my-self, they still rattle.! They are poorly built, you can't tighten the speaker to the case, the metal grill rattles, and they sound like that "punk car at the stop light", that one where the guy doesn't know what sound quality is...I'm selling my set on line, and getting a new system from C/V, or S/A.... or maybe just a tin can on a string.! It would sound better..! By the way, I power them with two (2) 2 channel, Crown 3000 Amps, behind a 24 track mixer, and a 12 band Eq.! I have 40 years exp. as a pro musician and sound man, I have seen the good , the bad, and even some ugly, home made junk, and these are just BAD..! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY...!

These things are great!

By Silvertones

Comments about Kustom PA KPC15 15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn Pair:

I've been playing for 45 years.I bought these on sale for $189 including shipping for the pair! The intention was to replace them when I could afford it. No need. These things sound just the way I want. I do a solo band thing with backing tracks. Country & R&R. I also play bass live through them as I'm a bass player and didn't want to lug an amp. They do need to be EQed though to get rid of what I call wolf tones. The woofer also needs to be broken in a little to get the good bass response. At first the drivers are a little stiff.

Comments about Kustom PA KPC15 15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn Pair:

I bought a pair of these to use as side-fills/monitors when Musician's Friend had a pair as their "Stupid Deal of the Day". For that purpose, and light duty FOH mains, they work fine. I would be hesitant to run them alone without a subwoofer as "full tilt boogie" FOH speakers, based on their power handling rating. The cabinets are made of MDF or particle board and have some weight to them, but seem to be well-made. Overall, they are a pretty good value.

I bought this at first just because it was such a great deal. ended up using it as a bass cabinet paired with my old 15 inch emimence speaker cabinet powered by another stupid deal of the day , my acoustic b200h bass amp. use it primarily at home to practice with and record. run my bass pedal effects/looper board thru this set up and it rocks ! low end is solid so far....

I own this pair and the matching 15 inch monitors. I've been using them for about six months, and they sound fine and seem very hard to break. I'm not saying that they sound like JBLs, but for the money they are hard to beat. I don't care where they are made. Your budget rules.

As an active musician, i bought these speakers hoping that they would be good for medium to small gigs, and they did not dissapoint, they fill very well, however the high notes are not as pronounced as i would like, but for the price nothing to really complain about

Comments about Kustom PA KPC15 15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn Pair:

These speakers are some of the best passive speakers out there. Don't let the wattage fool you... they have a sensitivity rating of 97 decibels at one meter! 250 watts program is more than enough with this sensitivity. Calculate the max SPL by adding the gain of the amplifier to the sensitivity. Wattage is really not as important to loudness... it is mainly used to measure the amount of power required to efficiently push the speaker (2X RMS of speaker = program). You want to have a power amplifier which has an RMS rating this is equal to the 'program' handling of the speaker. These speakers also have one of the widest frequency ranges available! I run a Mackie FR1400 power amplifier at 8 ohms with these. I would recommend using multiple amplifiers running at 8 ohms to cover pretty much any venue situation?even without subwoofers!Great speakers!

Comments about Kustom PA KPC15 15" PA Speaker Cabinet with Horn Pair:

I just got the speakers today and hooked them up to a Kustom 60 watt PA head. Sounds great. Very loud and clear. Perfect for a mid size gig. The cabinet seems well built and looks really nice. The pole mount looks cheap though. I'm basically going to use the P.A as a stereo keyboard and drum machine setup. I could see using these as a D.J. Good bass and crisp highs. What more do you need? If your on a tight budget these are the speakers to buy.

These are good speakers when paired with the Mackie FR1400 amplifier. My band used four of these as mains. Just remember to use an amplifier that will provide double the RMS power of the speaker - too much gain and too little power will not only make speakers sound bad - they will blow. The same goes with too much EQ boost. Just push 250~ watts RMS at 8 ohms, watch the EQ and you will have a great sounding speaker!

Point blank, great sound, great look, good craftsmanship. I was a bit skeptical about the price at first and ordered them any way. They sound just as good as my new Peavey 15's, just don't go past the factory wattage and you will have the best pair of speakers for the lowest amount of cash. If you need monitors and have low cash grab these before someone realizes they put the wrong price on these speakers. I know sound, these are a great buy if you know what you are doing and how much wattage you plan to push through them.
