Line 6

Legendary Line 6 POD device for your Apple iPhone or iPad.

The Mobile In guitar interface brings rich, legendary Line 6 guitar tones and best-in-class audio quality to your iPhone and iPad. Just plug-in and play, the Mobile In gives you guitar or bass studio-quality tone from right inside your iOS device. Use the free Mobile POD app that's included with the Mobile In to access 32 high-quality amps, 16 stompbox and rack effects, and 16 individual speaker cabinets for a ton of unique characteristic sound-shaping possibilities.

Studio Quality for Serious Sound
The Mobile In digital interface features pro specifications for full, clear guitar tones: up to 24-bit/48kHz audio quality throughout, and 110dB dynamic range on the guitar input. Unlike other devices that connect to the analog headphone jack of an iPhone or iPad, Mobile In attaches via the 30-pin connector for a high-quality, all-digital signal path. Clean tones sparkle and sing, effect-laden tones are rich and colorful, and high-gain tones are powerful and feedback-free.

Mobile In is also the high-quality way to record stereo audio sources to your iPhone or iPad. Simply connect a keyboard, mixer, CD player or even another iPhone to the stereo line input.

Mobile POD App
Leading guitarists depend on POD for amazing tone in studios and on stages around the world. The Mobile POD app brings these legendary guitar tones—the same ones found the award-winning Line 6 POD 2.0 and Pocket POD products—to your iPhone and iPad.

32 amps, 16 stompbox and rack effects, and 16 speaker cabinets give you immediate access to an impressive array of sounds. The intuitive graphical display makes it easy to tweak and save your custom tones. You can also take advantage of over 10,000 Mobile POD presets designed by artists, Line 6 and other players, right on your iPhone or iPad. To top it all off, Mobile POD also lets you play along with your entire iTunes library.

The Ultimate Jam-along Experience
Designed to work together, Mobile In and Jammit let you immerse yourself in your favorite artists’ original recordings—and play along with incredibly authentic guitar tones. The award-winning Jammit app is the first to let you jam with real, multi-track master recordings from a wide variety of popular artists. Just plug your guitar into the Mobile In interface to access legendary POD tones—perfectly matched to a variety of Jammit songs.

Jammit is available as a free download from the App Store. You can purchase individual songs through the app or the Jammit website.

Comments about Line 6 Mobile In Portable Audio Interface:

This Line 6 iPhone / iPad hardware uses the devices digital interface instead of the headphone line in/out and as a result, sound quality is vastly superior to at least the iRig hardware.

I first purchased the iRig for a low cost audio input to use with a recommended JamUp app as well as Garage Band. However, the iRig hardware produced significant noise and static due to the use of the iPad head phone circuitry. Recommended upgrades were the iRig HD because it instead makes use of the digital interface on the bottom of the iPad/iPhone.

I returned the original less expenstive iRig hardware and instead of purchasing the HD upgrade, I tried the Line 6 version at half the price.

My first impression was that the hardware felt cheap and not durable. Also when I plugged it in, I questioned the security of the connection. However, I found it connected to fine and never came unplugged in a few multi hour sessions. (I can't yet speak to durability and I'm not sure how the connection will fair in a live performance???)

I can speak to the sound quality however. This little inexpensive device produces fantastic results. The sound quality is miles better than the iRig hardware I started with! I definitely recommend this device for casual playing with headphones or even with a buddy plugged into a stereo!

The Pod software is good but only for playing. I recommend the Jamit app which also has good sound and amp models but also allows jamming to music and recording.

Comments about Line 6 Mobile In Portable Audio Interface:

This is a completely worthless product. It does not fit securly or stay connected. It does not get a clear signal. It sounds terrible. I was looking so forward to using the app, and this was a complete letdown. Do not buy this until they redesign it.

I'm lovin' it! I run it through the cd/mp3 in jack on my Line 6 spider 3 amp and it sounds awesome! You can also run it through your home surround sound, (with proper cords). well worth the money!

Comments about Line 6 Mobile In Portable Audio Interface:

I was using this as an interface but it simply comes unplugged from your iPad far too easily! While recording i have frequently blown some great takes as it becomes unseated in the iPad dock and the audio stream stops. If you move every so slightly, the cable will pull the thing loose. Great idea, terribly poor implementation. Don't waste your $$$ on this.

Right-Facing Line 6 Mobile In Portable Audio Interface

Comments about Line 6 Mobile In Portable Audio Interface:

        f
Works well for line in audio recording but has a lag in it when using the amp pod in Ipad which renders it pretty useless. In the iphone the delay is not as bad but certianly not useable for anything serious. I would be nice if it came with some kind of protective case or at least something to cover the plug.

        Great Idea, But...

        By Mark Patton

        from Atlanta

Comments about Line 6 Mobile In Portable Audio Interface:

This is truly a great idea for the Pod. But this thing is way to flimsy. Just get the old Pocket Pod if you are looking for a mobile headphone processor. The features are great. The amp models sound great, the effects sound great. It is very hard to change the settings on the interface though because it is just too small. The custom tone "download" function is very slow and clunky. Very frustrating to use. And there is no way to import tones you have made on your pc from previous versions of Line 6 Pod software.

Also, the "Jam along" function doesnt exist. There is no way to jam along with songs on your iPod or iPad.

Great idea, great tones, but its just not there yet.
I gave it a 4 because you do get allot of amp and cabinet models.
