I'm giving this a high rating overall, simply because you cant find another card with similar features, It installed with no problems, has good sound quality, and MIDI latency, I could have given it an even higher rating if the drivers for VIsta has the same features available the XP driver had.
I'm using the Delta 1010LT card in a Vista 32 machine and some of the features, such as Bass management and the ability to use it as a 5.1, 6.1 card in analog mode aren't available or I would give this a better feature score. Maybe XP users wont have that problem.
This card sounds excellent, all the inputs work as expected, and Installed with no problems,albeit with features missing. MIDI latency is the lowest I've seen in a sound card. It makes a big difference in the responsiveness of control surfaces and keyboards. This could be good news for other keyboardists. I havent used spdif or work clock yet so my rating doesnt include them.
This card is a good value if you use MIDI for Keyboards or control surfaces because it the MIDI in reduces the load on the USB bus signifigantly.

I love this Sound Card. It is designed for Pro Tools, but I use it on Cakewalk SONAR and it's perfect. It's Windows and Mac compatible. I use it on Windows XP (Studio Settings for Maximum Performance). It allows you to record multiple tracks simultaneously along with 2 dedicated Mic Channels. There are too many options to list, but by studying up on what you are trying to accomplish, and what you need to do it, this card will have no limits for the small studio.
This is the most advanced piece of equipment to connect your mixer to your recording computer. It has 10 in and 10 outs. 24 Bit/96 Htz Audio Interface. 8 X 8 analog I/O. 2 Balanced Mic Pre amps. 6 Line Ins Unbalanced. 8 Line Outs Unbalanced. It also has SPDIF Digital I/O, MIDI I/O and the list goes on and on.
I purchased the 2 meter snake with 1/4" TS cable ends on one end and RCA ends on the other end, separately to connect the mixer (outs) to the sound card (ins). They are not included.
This is my 2nd Delta 101LT and it's never failed me yet. It has great instructions and diagrams. Quite easy to use considering how advanced it is. It's great for a beginner, although the learning curve can be a headache but it's worth it. This card is NOT designed for a Small Form Factor computer case. There is not enough room. I was able to reconfigure my case to fit but it involved some serious cutting. My computer is dedicated strictly for recording so it was not detrimental to it's operation. This card is designed for a Medium to a Large Form Case.
An Excellent value for what you get out of this card. It will teach the average person more than they intended to learn, which is a good thing.

I purchased a Delta 1010LT over 5 years ago and have recorded and mixed with it for thousands of hours. Over the years, my studio has grown up around it, and it is only now that I need to upgrade to the Delta 1010. I will continue to use this in conjunction with the 1010, as they can be used side by side to create 16 inputs.The main drawback for professional level recording is, of course, the inputs. It comes with 2 analog balanced XLR inputs and 6 RCA inputs rather than the 8 analog 1/4" balanced inputs offered by the Delta 1010.The A/D converters are amazing and probably the best value you will find.I've been using this card on Linux through about 4 computer upgrades and have never had a problem.If you need a place to start with a multitrack pci card, this is it. If you want something that is more on a professional level, get the Delta 1010. They have the same A/D converters. The 1010LT is a third the price without the fancy inputs.

I've had this card for several years in a Windows x64 environment, currently running it in Windows 7 x64 with ProTools MP. I also use it in Adobe Audition 3.Once this card and your system is configured properly this card works amazing.For those experiencing pops/clicks or other digital artifacting with this card this is what you need to do.1. In your BIOS disable all settings that allow the clock speed of the processor to be dynamically changed. AKA PowerNOW (AMD) SpeedStep (Intel) This works 99% of the time.2. Try a different PCI slot.3. Use high quality cable and connectors, like Mogami/Neutrik.4. Get covers for the exposed RCA connectors on the breakout cable so they don't touch anything.I originally had the pops and clicks that most people experience with this card, step 1 solved that problem.

Before you buy this, check the forums for problems. This equipment has problems with crackling and static noise. I'm dealing with it every day. And M-Audio customer service is useless. They apparently know they have a problem and have no idea what to do about it.

The M-Audio Delta 1010 LT is an awesome little package for the price. I've got it installed in my new PC recording rig and it works like a charm (I'm using Windows 7). I've only got a couple qualms with it. Firstly, no phantom power. I had to buy an external power supply, which was pretty cheap but kind of a pain. If you want to use a condenser mic you will too, unless the microphone has its own power source. Easy to overlook at this price range though.Secondly, the cables just come straight out of the card. They're short and if you can't get to the back of your computer easily it's a huge pain. And they tangle... And it's hard to read the labels on each cable. The jumble of cables is definitely the biggest weakness, but if you can deal with it, the price rocks. I'm going to upgrade eventually, but this little thing definitely serves its purpose in my rig, and I can afford in on my meager budget.

If you have a lot of analog equipment you need to capture sound from, this is a fantastic deal. I've had mine for six years. I don't use it a lot anymore, only because I was forced to migrate to a Mac Pro two years ago. Mac Pros do not have PCI slots. Too bad M-Audio hasn't seen fit to make this in a PCI Xpress card.I had a lot of analog equipment when I first got this card. I did a lot of searching, and this was the ONLY card that could handle it all. Worked perfectly with Cakewalk and Pro Tools M-Powered.There is one NASTY problem with it I have never been able to solve. Every now and again, I'll record a great track, only to play it back and hear crackle all through it. It's NOT a CPU problem. I run a 2Ghz AMD, with all other processes shut down, and it still does it. What's really annoying about it is the fact that the crackle cannot be heard while recording. It's only during playback, and its random. The only fix is to redo the tracks, and hope it doesn't happen again.These days, I use it mostly for playing, and it works fine for that.Maybe I just got a card that went bum after a few years. Maybe one day I'll figure out it's something else I can solve.I would recommend this product.

I've used this card for years, on several PCs under Windows 2000 and XP, mostly ASIO with Steinberg, and it's unquestionably excellent value. The drivers started out with more bugs but get better as we go. The driver's config panel is good, very flexible. As an interface, i.e. as A/D/A, you might prefer something else if you are very critical. We're talking VERY critical. If you carefully A/B the Delta cards (from the 2 channel to the 10/10 rack) with say an Echo Mia, you will find the Deltas have a touch of what some people call "harshness". Still, the flexibility and cost of the Deltas makes me use them a lot. In a lot of situations a 2 channel device like the Mia actually covers what I need if I plan the config OK, and the sweeter sound is a nice reward for carefully thinking the setup through. It takes a lot of experience to really appreciate subtle differences, but if you add in ordinary cabling, low end solid-state mics and some ordinary pre-amps, an interface like the 1010LT might just tip the scales towards preferring a Mia.

I've had this for six years. I do a ton of home recording with my band. It's funny that the price hasn't dropped in many years, even as firewire interfaces have arrived and technology has advanced.Zero latency is exactly right. The recording quality is also very high, as is performance. I regularly record 8 simultaneous tracks with Cubase SE, Windows XP, athlon 64 3200 and 2 gigs of RAM. I get perfect performance, not a single pop or crackle in years pf use, and that's with Cubase VSTs piled high. With the individual inputs I get excellent post-recording control.The software mixer is functional but not too easy to use. The preamps on the card are also functional, and I've used them, but they are definitely not convenient (jumpers to adjust primary gain control is kinda silly). They were quite convenient when I first started out however. RCA connections are probably the best choice when designing the breakout cable but they aren't convenient for your home studio. Easy to solve, go buy some cables.I use several different kinds of external preamps, but I think the best solution is a powerful mixer with at least 8 quality pre-amps and direct outs for each channel.Overall, this is an excellent interface that has the features that really count. And for me, over six years, it's been solid as a rock.
