Comments about Mackie C300z Passive Speaker (Black):
I have used Mackie speakers as mains for many years. When I saw the price of these units I thought why not try them as floor monitors, best thing I ever did!
These speakers are clear, loud, and have a great sound. Why not have the same great sound on the stage as you have out front?
What a difference and at this price you can't miss!

Won't be disappointed..
Bought 2 of these because I couldn't afford the powered SRM450's at the time. First time I used them live was to play techno/dance music at a Football Stadium. I had one speaker facing one side of the stadium, and the other facing the other side with only a QSC GX5 driving these babies... Although the low bass output was sort of lacking, (from the other side of the stadium). I had so many compliments from people in the crowd saying how good the sound was from those small speakers. I even had a guy ask me "Where are the other speakers that he swore he heard?"...
since than have been using as our mains for my Rock Trio. At first we just put vocals and kick drum through them. But now that I have Mackie SWA 18" subs running the lows, with the C300Z's passing everything above 100Hz, ...vocals, mic'd guitar amp, bass guitar di, and full drumset mic'd....
A++!!
Worth more than I paid for them..

This little boad boy puts out a lot crisp sound! Some guys would swear that the active spkrs sound better becuz of the built-in electronics. But the active ones 1) weigh more, 2) require a power cable, 3) that power cable will require an extension calbe, and 4) you still have to run a mic cable into it. at least with a this passive Mackie, the power amp you buy will have a built-in fan to keep it cool. More reliable that way. I needed a floor monitor and was using 2 of the old JBL EON 15's as mains. The new EON's don't have the tilt back design anymore so I picked up this Mackie instead.It's a great speaker for your dollar.
