Just had the sound company we use send these to a Mardi Gras Ball gig matched with the 15" Subs. I was scared to death. Were 500 people gonna get their money's worth from a rig that was so simple and relatively small? They had paid big bucks for the show. The system blew us away. Short load in time, short sound check, and combined with great rack gear and a new Midas console. Used two powered Mackies for front fill. After the first set we were swamped by people raving about the clarity of vocals without loosing any of the music bed.We will settle for nothing else unless it's a festival or huge hall.Sound companies...buy this rig. You'll keep customers and lower labor costs.

It seems Mackie has let me down here. I own 2 of the SA1232's and I don't like them. They seem very unbalanced. The low ends overpower the highs and mids. Since the high and mid drivers are only 200 watts they can't keep up with the 1100 watts coming from the lows. The limit light comes on too soon before the speaker can really get loud. I prefer the Mackie SR1530.

Pro-Sound, Value Price

By Hilliboy

from Arkansas

I am a professional musician who uses the 1232 as our Front House Mains. Our band play primarily Alt-Country / Rock and these babies perform above our expectation at all times. You may want to be careful however while transporting these monster from trailer to stage. The top wooden baffle has a tendency to come loose. However, a few screws removed from the screen and a little high-temp epoxy, will fix it everytime. Over all, if want to sound like a professional, get professinal equipment, and these are it!

Operator, techniciation, Installer

By Jerry Jones

These would be an excellent addition to our Youth Choir Tour Program. This unit produces one of the cleanest 3-way sounds I have ever heard. By having the complete 3-way system and matched amplifers on board, this eleminates a lot of excess baggage while on tour. I'll admit this is a little over-kill for some of the smaller Churches, but it is Heaven sent for the medium and larger Churches. I've got to be sure that some of the older Churches have the power to handle them. When this unit speaks, The LORD has your attention!

Stunning Sound

By Itinfoman1

from New Bruanfels, TX

We have used the SA1232 in multiple arrangements including indoor concrete dance halls, wooden floor dance halls and large outdoor venues. In all cases the speakers have performed above our expectations. Very impressed with the dispersion path. Outdoors, you can truly feel the power and balance of the 1232's.

Incredible pure sound, absolutely no distortion

By Rimshotz

from Shingletown, CA

I am an e-drummer and have tried many different amps over the years, always frustrated with distortion of the midrange. The toms were always very mushy and distorted. I finally bought a set of Mackie SA1232's. All I can say is WOW. Absolutely no distortion even at painful decibel levels! Very clean chest thumping bass... puts my JBL EON's to shame. Wish I would have bought these speakers in the first place. Even if you can't afford them (a little spendy) at least give yourself the pleasure of test driving a set. You'll be impressed to say the very least. The LAST set of PA speakers I'll ever have to buy. A fine product from Mackie!!!

Great speakers

By Countach

from Salem, OR

My youth group has these speakers so I use them every week. We've never had a chance to take full advantage of them, but on my own time, I have definitely tested to see what they can do, and they make our concrete room sound pretty dang good. We'll finally be mic'ing the drums soon so once that's done, I'll finally be able to push these things a little bit. It sucks just pushing guitars, bass, and vox through the mains; not enough frequencies with just those instruments :)

Worth every dollar. Mackie does it again.

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

If you have the cash and are looking for a powered speaker these are the ones. You can hook them up and and just go. I think the value is excellent considering each speaker has three amps and its own crossover not to mention the great overall design. These speakers are plenty powerfull to play almost any venue. I am ery impressed with the sound quality. If they hold up to the road rigors of travelling musicians they will be perfect. One thing though- they are BIG. Not a big deal but good to know. You need two good sized people to move them. I suggest a two wheel dolly.

Bullet proof & extremely user friendly, have been using the SA1232's in live application for over a year - great sound every time! Recently used them to support a Pat Travers Band show - they held up and really thumped the house - Great job Mackie!!
