When I first started doing sound this is the board i used. it is freakin amazing. at our church we were adding a large section to our church and this mixer sat in the heart of the constuction every thing that would make any sound guy crindge happend to it hevey stuff fell on it water got poured on it u name it it happend but every sunday when we would power it up it powered through all that dust and ran perfectally. we just replaced it with a new allen and heath that coast about 5 time the price of this one and it just doesn't compair with physical qualty and sound quality of this mixer i'd call this the SM58 of mixers.
The features and everything on it is good but I had it for about a year now and I am having a problem with some of the channels. In order for me to get it fixed I have to send the WHOLE board back to get repair. I use it for live proformances almost everyday so I cant afford to be with out it!
I found that I needed more busses in this console. I loved the features as far equalization goes.
I've had over 10 years of live sound exp. (foh and mon mix) and this board by far surpasses any i've used. I've used in permanent installs and it's fantastic. Just enough features and not to complicated. Very easy to learn. You can't go wrong with Mackie.
Awesome board, I use it at my church. The sound quality is awesome, the functionality is even better. Haven't had any problems with channels on this board. We had one problem with it, but that was user error involving the Trim. I guess, it's kind of like other things, the product is only as good as the person who operates it and takes care of it. I wouldn't buy any other kind of board.
Better than Yamaha, Allen & Heath, etc... Most people don't know how to read specs, that's what seperates the men from the boys! The absolute best hands down!
You cannot beat the specs on a Mackie, They're better than A&H, Soundcraft, Yamaha, etc... Although a compact console, it gets the job done with flying colors. A PERFECT 10 !!!
I've had this mixer about 5 years, and there have hardly been any problems. The only thing is one line, that is dead (I think it's the mic-preamp) There are also some noise on some of the aux-sends-buttons. But it is absolutely a good mixer for the price. The sounding is above average, and it is small and lightweight if you are going to take it on tour.
I used this in my church and its just perfect for me it is not to big or to small it is just the right one for me.
