A portable speaker with plenty of power and a big low-end.

The Mackie Thump TH-15A delivers deep low end and real power in a lightweight portable 2-way powered loudspeaker. Designed by the same team that produced the best-selling Mackie SRM450v2, the TH-15A speaker features a user-adjustable 3-band EQ. The Thump loudspeaker's Class-D Fast Recovery amplification pushes 400W of power to the high-frequency compression driver and bass-pounding 15" woofer. Mackie Active processing, including a precision crossover and driver time-alignment, provide total optimization for maximum system efficiency. Versatile by design, the Mackie Thump Loudspeaker is equallly functional polemounted or used as a wedge.

More than Just a Powered Speaker Cabinet
The Mackie TH-15A has 2 built-in power amps—300W for the 15" woofer and 100W for the high-frequency compression driver. Mackie's Class-D Fast Recovery low-frequency amp drives the woofer more efficiently with less heat by-product than other speakers. But so much more goes into a Mackie loudspeaker design than just amplifiers. Mackie Active technology (based on the popular SRMv2 Series) divides the frequencies via a precision 2-way crossover and also time aligns the signals so low-frequency and high-frequency signals arrive in sync to every member of your audience. Active compression provides a first line of defense for the drivers and thermal circuitry protects the amplifiers and power supply should things get too hot. All the onboard electronic systems work together dynamically to produce superior quality sound previously unavailable in this price range.

    Portability Meets Versatility
Not only is the Mackie Thump TH-15A a superb PA enclosure, it also makes a superior monitor wedge—just lay the cabinet on its side and turn it up. The compact, lightweight design means zero strain, whether mounting it on a high pole or loading up the van. The Mackie TH-15A loudspeaker's wide frequency response makes it ideal as a keyboard, vocal, or even bass guitar monitor. The Thump has incredibly smooth response and dispersion over a wide range of frequencies, so you can crank it without the fear of ear-splitting feedback.

    Exceptional Sonic Performance
Mackie Thump TH-15A powered loudspeakers put out a tremendous amount of sound for their size and price tag. The two-way ported design generates ample quantities of chest-pounding bass, and its 1" compression driver ensures smooth, wide dispersion. We even inserted a 3-band equalizer at the input to give you all the tonal control you could ever want, with an available 15dB boost or cut at 80Hz (low shelf), 100Hz to 8kHz (sweepable mids), and 12kHz (high shelf). With the Mackie TH-15A's extremely versatile EQ, you can add some extra thump to that kick drum, bring out the sizzle in your hi-hats, add pop to vocals or correct acoustic anomalies in the room.

    Protecting Your Investment
Because you demand the most from your speakers, Mackie added some extra circuitry to keep your TH-15As performing at their best, even when pushed really hard for long periods of time. Each driver has its own transparent compression circuit, which helps protect them from damaging transient peaks. An over-excursion filter, inserted just before the low frequency amplifier, protects the woofer from bottoming-out when the low end is driven to the maximum. This means you can hit them hard without fear of thermal damage. Things can get pretty hot in the real world, so if the electronics do overheat, separate thermal switches activate and shut down the high- and/or low-frequency amplifiers until they cool down. These extra protections ensure that the Mackie Thump TH-15A loudspeakers offer long life and great sound you can always count on.

Comments about Mackie Thump TH-15A 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker:

As I get older, lighter and smaller is what I'm all about, and these spaekers are light and easy to handle.

I have only used them on two gigs so far, but I'm quite satisfied. Used once as mains and once as monitors and they worked well at both.

I work in a blues band and we don't play at extream volumes but these work well, have plenty of bottom and project well.

The only thing I really don't like, is the EQ pots are made and are positioned such that if you are not careful, they will get hit and I'm sure break off. So watch how you load them.

Comments about Mackie Thump TH-15A 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker:

Tired of all the PA equipment I have to lug around. So I use this one speaker for all my small gigs. We are a blues band and it does the trick.

      Replacement speaker

      By Richard Stewart

      from florida

Comments about Mackie Thump TH-15A 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker:

Hoping the this replacement speaker continues to work well.
The first speaker I received "died" within 3 weeks of only moderate use. However, MF provided a shipping label for UPS to return the defective one, and within 2 weeks I received a replacement at no charge. So far, the second speaker is working well.

Comments about Mackie Thump TH-15A 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker:

Has everything you want in an active PA speaker.
Sound, especially low frequency, nearly equivalent to the more expensive Mackies.
The best value in powered speakers.

      Thumps, indeed!

      By DLEE

      from Alabama

Comments about Mackie Thump TH-15A 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker:

Bought a pair to use as floor monitors for my classic rock cover band. We are using a Mackie powered mixer, but needed to run 4 loud monitors, which is hard to do from any powered mixer. So, now we use two Thumps running from the Monitor Out on the Mackie, and let the Mackie power the other two monitors, and it works and sounds great. We EQ the monitors to get the two being powered by the mixer to sound right, then the two of us that use the Thumps can tweak the built-in EQ on the Thumps. The Thumps have a great low end, way more than really needed for my application, but it's possible we may use them as mains in certain situations. I'm happy with my purchase.

      Great Sounding Speakers

      By Randy

      from Highland,Arkansas

Comments about Mackie Thump TH-15A 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker:

Mackie Thump TH-15A's speakers are great sounding speakers.Fabulous bass response and mid and highs to match. These speakers are priced right and have tons of power. We use these speakers in our Gospeltrio as monitors. These speakers about blew us off the stage. Our only complaint is the controls on the back of the speakers. The knobs are plastic and stick out which could easily get caught on something and break off.I took a piece of heavy cardboard and put velcro on them...cheap easy fix.I would highly recommend these speakers.

      Great for Digital Drums

Comments about Mackie Thump TH-15A 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker:

After searching far and wide for a means to amplify my digital drums, I happened on the Mackie Thump Powered PA Speaker. The name alone got my attention because I did indeed want my drums to "thump". This prduct has a 15" woofer and a horn tweeter. I've tried bass amps, guitar amps and keyboard amps of various manufacturers and have been unimpressed. They just don't do justice for drums. I connected the Thump and set the built-in equalizer to about 70% boost on the low filter and set the crossover frequency to 200 Hz.....and WOW!!! It really does thump!! From trial and error I've managed to find the right product for my application. I'll get another one so I can use the stereo capabilities of my drum trigger module (Yamaha DTXtreme). Very impressed. I'd highly urge all of my fellow drummers to get your own and finally hear the low end of your music.

Just gave my 2 new Mackie Thump TH-15A's a good workout at a mobile gig(100 ppl). These speakers are great for smaller gigs(100-150ppl). Good clean sound with no clipping just as long as you keep a good clean input signal. very affordable.
