Comments about Mackie VLZ4 Series 802VLZ4 8-Channel Ultra Compact Mixer:
I own several Mackie mixers. They all sound great and are priced right. This one has a great deal of capability in a small footprint, which was important to me. It's a lot of mixer for the price. You do have to download the PDF manual, not much documentation comes with it. You need the manual to get the most out of the mixer.

Comments about Mackie VLZ4 Series 802VLZ4 8-Channel Ultra Compact Mixer:
This Mackie 802VLZ4 is excellent. From studios to stage, Mackie mixers are very prevalent in the music industry, and for good reason. They are affordable, and offer durability, quality sound, and multiple application use. I have encountered or used at least one mixer from each iteration of the VLZ series at one time or another through the years, and I would say that this version is clearly the best offering, especially for its compact size and all that can be accomplished with it. Very versatile, including Guitar / Bass inputs, eliminating a need for DI Box, and clean professional ONYX mic preamps on the first three channels. Versatile routing capability, and even up to 4 channel output with use of ALT 3-4 outs. Still yet, more outs for headphones, monitors, aux, and plenty of input for signals including a dedicated aux fx routing, with complex master section. Lastly, the color graphics on this version is in my opinion the easiest to see clearly from eq, aux, pan, mute, etc in all lighting settings from high to low. I do not work for Mackie and i am very particular about my purchases and quality, pricing, and other aspects, but being in the Pacific Northwest, I am proud to use their product and support the company, and believe that it is every bit worth its price.
