I bought this and found that the software was meant specifically for Windows Vista which I dont have. When ordering I was told any version of windows would be fine but my version 7 wont run it.Also it says you get a free upgrade to version 15 however when you go to the website to upgrade they have taken it off their site and no longer support or offer that version so you don't get any upgrade.Money wasted for me......
I love this program!I'm in a similar situation as the previous review.. I'm a former Mac/Logic Pro user who switched to Samplitude. I won't claim that the work flow between Logic and Samplitude are similar, but of all the DAW demos I tried before switching, I found Samplitude most comfortable with my previous experience and knowledge. Great plugins, great editing environment (light years beyond Logic) and great hardware support. While the Elastic Audio features (pitch correction, beat tweaking) are no Melodyne, they're very clean and incredibly useful. The included guitar amp simulators produce very pleasing results. Not too many amp models are included, but all of the major sounds are available and highly tweakable.However.. if you're running Windows 7, the boxed version 14 requires the use of the compatibility wizard to install, otherwise the installer crashes with an incompatibility warning. Ultimately not a huge issue as the software will install and run flawlessly, but if you're not 'in the know' with such tech features, it's a significant initial let down.Additionally, I had trouble claiming the free upgrade to version 15 - went through a lengthy email exchange to get the upgrade. The upgrade URL pictured no longer works but Magix Customer Support was very helpful and prompt in sorting out the issue.Great software with pro features at great value! I only knock a .5 for the free upgrade process.
Magix Studio has got to be the most underrated home studio DAW on the market. I have used the software dating back to 2000 and was never dissapointed; but overwhelmed by the amount of features included with each upgrade. The workflow on this software is rapid and intuitive. It is easy to make a good sounding home recording in no time. Loading times are minimal. The built in plugins are actually quite good (I can get a good drum compressor going in about 4 clicks)I have since switched to Logic for my public recordings to take advantage of its features; however, when I need a quick reference recording I go back to my magix studio 2005 deluxe, because I know I can get a good usable mix in far less time. If you are looking to start in recording, this is a great program to get you going.
