So listen . . . i just recieved these clamps in the mail and was super excited . . . until i went to put them on. I tried to put the mounts on three completly different drums(a tama superstar kit, a dw collectors series kit, and a pearl joey jordison signature snare). The clamps would not go on any of the hoops! Im not stupid! Really, they wouldnt adjust high enough to attach on to the rims. Eventually i had to take the rubber off of the top part of the mount(the part that tightens the whole thing to the rim). Now i have them working- i guess theyre alright. Mic placement is alittle limited put its an overall good price.

Not wonderful
The kick mic stand is not too bad. The base is a bit smaller and lighter than the Proline model, but if the kick mic is not too heavy, it works well.

The kick mic stand is not too bad. The base is a bit smaller and lighter than the Proline model, but if the kick mic is not too heavy, it works well.
The rim-mount mic holders, on the other hand, are terrible. The clamp does not open up quite enough to get it on the rim without considerable force. When finally on, and tightened, the way the clamp hooks under the hoop puts pressure on the rim of the head, or wedges between the head and the shell.
Once mounted, the mic is positioned well over onto the head, hindering performance. I had to bend the mic mount part (easy to bend, cheap metal.) I am going to be doing some more modification to the clamp so it locks onto just the rim without touching or putting pressure on the shell or head.
Very poorly designed. Not worth the money.

Comments about Musician's Gear Drum Microphone Mount Kit:
These are pretty decent clips. I have been looking for some metal drum mic clips for my samson drum mics that bands at my music venue and my sound tech keep breaking due to over tightening. These have held up well for 2 months. One was a little bent when it arrived, but with some muscle it can be bent back in place, so I didn't worry about it. They are still working good and have already lasted longer than the plastic junk Samson makes.
Comments about Musician's Gear Drum Microphone Mount Kit:
I rate this product as a 10 so far. I have no reason to rate it any less as of now.
The mounts adjust very well for high and low positioning. The boom stand adjust well also. The microphone response I get from my drums is great due to the fact that I can postion the mics just like I need to. Thats the main thing. The rubber on the clamps minimize vibration and metal to metal contact which is a definite plus. There is no movement and everything is very sturdy. Im loving this product so far!
The quality of this product is very good. All of the mounts are very sturdy with no movement and the boom stand is the same. I read many negative reviews, but my experiences are different. I have nothing to say about this product. I am very pleased!
For the price that I paid, I actually feel as though I got more than I paid for.
Comments about Musician's Gear Drum Microphone Mount Kit:
The bass drum stand is welcome item but I went back to my CAD mounts for my floor toms and that`s ok I like the chrome but the clamps I got today don`t open far enough to fit my Tama Artwood snare rim. Judging from the way it would fit it appears the mic would be in the way. I like to tuck my snare mic just under my hats and poking out just a little.
Cannot recommend them until the clamps are made to open wider and close more alligned instead of offset.
Being small and black is good in this case but now I need new right angle mic cables.
I had to put one of the clamps back together right out of the box. This will be the extra I`ll explain about below.
Considering there is but one place I can mount them and that`s on the suspension rim itself crowding the rubber grommet and I only need three of these tom mounts I have an extra I won`t use because the clamp doesn`t open wide enough to fit the tuning rim`s of a 80`s Tama Royalstar kit.
Comments about Musician's Gear Drum Microphone Mount Kit:
I've had these mounts for over 5 months now and I recorded over 10 songs with them. When I read previous reviews I was worried if they were going to be too intrusive or of poor quality, but I had no trouble and these mounts attached extremely easily to my Pearl Export EX set. I really don't see how these could be intrusive to a player, only if you are trying to put a giant mic on it, or if your are a VERY inexperienced drummer. They gave me just what I wanted, and allow you to position the mic just where you want it.Definitely recommended.
Comments about Musician's Gear Drum Microphone Mount Kit:
Well, today I received the item and quickly went to my drum set to mount the equipment. The bass drum mic stand is by far the best thing about this pack. It is well built and very sturdy. Not to mention its boom arm allows for many different maneuverability for the kick mic. Now let's get to the downside of this pack. The tom mounts are not cutting it on my kit. The one on my snare drum I had no problem with but I can't say the same for the toms. I have a Tama starclassic B/B performer and the tom mounts have one particular problem that really makes me angry. The bottom part of the tom mount (where it hooks the hoop of the drum) is too big. It is crammed in between the hoop and the shell, and puts way to much pressure on the shell. So much pressure, in fact, that it lowered the pitch of my toms considerably when I attached them. This is obviously not good for the drum.I would recommend the bass drum mic stand to anyone, but I would NOT recommend the tom mounts.
Comments about Musician's Gear Drum Microphone Mount Kit:
I bought this mainly to use some extra Shure mics that I have with a Shure Drim Mic Kit that came with mounts. These mounts are poor quality and is of no comparison to the Shure mounting system. The kick boom stand is fine but the other mounts are not. One of the mounts broke the first time I used it. Unless you have no other choice, I would suggest getting something else.

Comments about Musician's Gear Drum Microphone Mount Kit:
The boom mic for the kick drum is the right height and size, but if you want to use it with a Shure Beta 52a or similar large kick microphone, the stand may tip over if the boom is fully extended into the kick drum. The Snare/tom mounts would work great on a floor tom, but they are too intrusive in the way that they position the mic too far over the drum head. I am using one of the mounts for underneath the snare drum, but I cannot use one for above the snare; I still need to use a separate boom stand. At first, I thought the intrusive nature was due to the fact I was using an SM57 for the top-of-snare mic, but I tried using an Audix d2 with it and it was still in the way too much.
