Comments about MXL 860 Side Address Ribbon Microphone:

I don't know how it compares to the Royer 121 but it sure is a pleasure to use on a guitar cabinet. I have tried everything in my finance range. I usually go direct with a Line 6 product. But things have changed now. I finally can get the sound of my amp on a recording. The high end is nice and smooth. The low end is good, I had to adjust my amp a little bit. Overall, it was a good purchase. I plan on getting another one soon. This mic has a lot of detail. I bet it will sound good on vocals. I didn't need to eq anything. It reproduces exactly what you put into it. My amp sounds better now that I have readjusted it for this mic.
