2 independent compressor/limiter/gates in one rackspace!
The Nady CL5000 Compressor/Limiter/Gate utilizes unique Interactive Knee Adaptation circuitry which combines hard- and soft-knee compression. The Nady CL5000 also features fully variable attack/release, compression ratio, threshold control, dual 8-stage gain reduction metering, and adjustable gate for easy operation and maximum performance. An Interactive Ratio Control expander/gate automatically adjusts expansion to eliminate the noise floor during quiet sections of music. A built-in adjustable Dynamic Enhancer nullifies the "squashed" sound common to most compressors. And its servo-balanced input provides automatic hum and noise reduction, even at high operating levels.

If you are looking to buy a cheap product, this is it. Easy to operate for the less-than-talented electronics experts. Not a bad buy, but make sure all the ins and outs work.
I was unsure of this product when I purchased it, especially for the price. Impressive piece of equipment. Easy to use manual, wonderful sound. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a compressor with limiter, and gate. This has the auto-limiter function which reacts automatically to sound changes. That alone is worth the price.
I've owned this compressor for about 6 months now and it has performed fairly well for me. The gate is a bit clicky which limits it's usefulness for me as I use it in a studio to quiet mic channels on occassion. The compression is decent enough and the controls are smooth. I like to use the compression on bass guitar adn for this application, I am happy. Seems to sound pretty smooth even at higher compression ratios. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably spend the few more dollars to get a DBX or one of the Behringer compressors, which I was surpized to hear sound great (I own a 2600).
Good sound and features for the money, but be aware that the outputs on this unit are XLR only, so it makes it a little difficult (cable wise) to use an insert cable to put it in the insert loop of a mixer. I run my inserts through my patchbay, so for me this only required buying an XLR-1/4 cable. Also this unit only has balanced XLR outputs only.
The compression sound quality I think is very good in general. Low noise. Easy to use. You can do your peak based compression/limiting with the ATTACK & RELEASE controls, or go into RMS mode by pressing the AUTO switch, which disables the AR controls. The gate is good to have. No wallwart which I think is good. Haven't used the Dynamic Enhancer section. I would prefer a default to TRS jacks for the balanced outputs (instead of the XLR's), as this is more convenient for me, and appropriate for the lower end category units. I've used this unit as outboard gear in a studio for about 3 years now. I like it enough to keep it. Only reason I'd get rid of it is for a quad compressor in the same rack size.
this compressor seems to work very nice for the price, but be careful, the knobs break of very easy and Nady won't sell you replacements, so you would have to send it in and that costs more than you payed for it. otherwise, it seems to have good sound with no buzz.
