I bought these mics with my hopes not set to high. I am a sound man for a average sized church and we use these to mic our baby grand piano and as an overhead for our drum set. They blew me away once I plugged them in, especially on the piano. It replicated the piano sound unlike I have ever heard in a mic of that class, it even sounded better than our SM57. It gave our drums a pleasant warm sound that even pleased our senior saints. Overall these mics rock and are worth tiwce the price.

I've used a pair of these in the studio for drum overheads and reinforcement for acoustic guitar and vocals, and in the live environment I've used them for stage miking of an elementary school play. The sound, for the most part, is fantastic, and they were sensitive and quiet enough to pick up conversations going on in my neighborhood if I turned up the gain enough. I was not blown away by the tone on up-close vocal miking, but for distance or overhead miking they sound phenomenal. The major disappointment I had with them is that six months after the 1-year warranty expired, I started getting this horrible intermittent popping, rumbling, and whistling from them. Now I need to replace them, but for what I paid for them, I guess I've gotten my money's worth.

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

I purchased a pair of these for one thing only.....drum overheads. I cannot speak for anything else, but for getting your cymbals out in the PA mix these are awesome. They are extremely sensitive (I run my input pad all the way down) and cut through wonderfully. You can't beat the performance for the money!

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

If building a home studio and running low on cash you can't go wrong with the CM 90. I'm very pleased. I own two of them. I've used them for recording acoustic guitar and some stereo recording.Great overhead mics. Watch your gain (hot signal). The CM90 will be a great addition to anyones home studio. After all you can never have too many mics

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

Pretty good sound for the money. Very sensitive. Great for choral groups where several singers are on one microphone.

Honestly can't hear a quality difference between these and the other more expensive condenser microphones in our choir mix.

Can't yet testify to their reliability. If they hold up over the long run, they will be well worth the money.

    Beat our expectations

    By Methodman

    from Ashland, OR

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

I bought this for a rather unusual application. We needed a mic for our church that could pick up voices at a mid distance (4 - 8 feet) and that was directional. Most of all, it had to be cheap! We have an SM81, but it's tied up by the music team (acoustic guitar), so we needed another utility condenser. It works quite well. It's hotter than the SM81, and brighter, though the 81 is noticeably smoother in the upper midrange. No pad or selectable curves, but hey, for $** bucks what do you want! Sounds fine on percussion, too, though we'll keep the 81 for most guitar use.

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

I used this mic for acoustic guitar, and banjo miking. It works surprisingly well, and the sound is clear. It seems to have a pretty hot signal, so I had to watch the gain on it. I originally bought it for use on hi hats, but haven't had a chance to use it yet on them, as my overhead stereo mic captures them pretty well. It is a great little addition for a home studio situation.

    Great Little Mic

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

I manage a 1,000 seat venue and bought a couple of these for choral applications. I've since used them for live stereo recording and various other things. These are great little mics. For the price, they definitely can't be beat. I started with six and I'm now adding ten more. Maybe not the absolute best in the world, but definitely worth the money.

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

I have used this on both vocals and acoustic guitar and it rivals the sound of microphones costing many times more. Vocals have a nice airy sheen to them and acoustic guitars sparkle.

This mic is very sensitive and can be easily overloaded, so for vocals it is good to not sing directly into it, but to mic the vocal out of the air path when close micing.

    Great for soft vocals.

Very delicate. Handle with care as you would an expensive mic.

    Great mic at Great price

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

I bought this mic instead of the package they have on here for two MXL 993 Condenser Mics, simply cuz I didnt have enough money, I do garage recordings with my band, and I used two of these mics to cover the whole kit...... the sounds I got was AMAZING, our recordings became a ton better.........If your looking to mic a drum the shure58A is a good snare (and i think vocal) mic, and the shure beta 52A kick drum mic, those two along with these condensers make prolly the best sound you can get without goin all out with the checkbook (though it is expensive)

I love this mic, I also have 2 AKG 1000s, I wouldn't compare these mics to each other but I have found out by my suprise the pickup of the Nady is not that far off, and for the price, I'm buying another Nady as I write this..Have a Good Day

    Good for live applications

    By Chris-c6QWM

    from Bellingham, WA

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

Not a bad mic for the price. Has a pretty good sound for reinforcing live acoustic guitar, horns, etc. As far as recording it sounds a little thin. Not a lot of response at both extremes (high and low) especially for vocals and acoustic guitar, but would certainly get you by.

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

I purchased two of these, not long ago. I have used them as overhead mics for my drum set. They have virtually no low end response. Normally this wouldn't be a good thing, but that was what I was looking for in my drum mix (for the overheads, anyway) so it worked out. I don't think I will use these for vocals or guitar work though.

Excellent overhead mics for the price.

    By Audiophilie

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

Great overheads for cheap. Bare bones finish and no frills, but virtually same pickup patterns at MXL 600, which costs alot. At this cheap price each, I was very pleasantly surprised with the CM 90s.

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

Bought this mic for the sole purpose of miking the hats live. Went out front for a listen and was very satisfied with the sound. For the price you can't beat it. And for you tech heads that need to compare all the time, if you want a $200 sounding mic, buy one and shut up. You won't be sorry you got this mic. Have had absolutely no problems with it.

    Nady products are poor quality

    By purplevirus2

    from Redwood City, CA

Comments about Nady CM 90 Cardioid Condenser Mic:

They have a large return percentage on their amplifiers, speakers and other products. Their prices are cheap because they have everything made in China. Their Quality control is very poor, that is why so many products are returned. The range of their wireless microphones are not what they claim on the packaging and their rack mopunted high power amplifiers never reach the power output they claim in their ad's.They try to sell refurbished items on eaby, some have even burn up when on stage.DO NOT BUY A NADY PRODUCT you get what you pay for!
