The Nady MM-141 is so clear, as in no noise. I have other larger mixers but this one is the one I use it mostly for recording directly into my computer but I've used it in live sets with the same outstanding results. I had no idea when I bought it right here that even without balanced in/out connection capabilities it would be such a great tool. People have knocked it off the table at live venues and even bent the control knobs without damaging it's ability at all. I bend them back in place and keep on pushin'. I'm really pleased with this small, handy and very portable unit. I've run it for countless hours without even having to replace the standard nine volt battery. You won't regret buying at least one. I know this might seem like I must indeed work for Nady but I don't. I've had mine for over six years without a single issue or problem. Yes, I love it.

So I was trying to solve a problem and came up with trying a mini mixer in my pedal board. I was looking for something small, with very few features so as to not color my guitar tone. I have several pedals that use split signal outs (not stereo), a dry and effected signal and wanted to be able to blend both, without the need for carrying two amps everywhere. My solution, put all signal outputs from my effects (this was used with a B9 and a new MEL9) and run all four outputs into the mini mixer and run a single out to my amp. I have to say the solution worked really well and I had excellent control of each output level, and the signal feed into the amp was clear with no noise, signal pops or drop out. The fact that it just has levels was perfect for this application as the higher end version with effects wasn't necessary as I have other effects that are better suited for processing the mixer output. Ok, here's the good, the price can't be beat, the size fits in a pedal board without taking too much room and with top mounted controls allows for easy access to volume control for each effect output. I didn't notice and significant tonal changes in the effect outputs and so it seems to have fairly transparent signal pass thru. Here's the bad, I'm not sure how durable this mixer will be as it seemed to have loose solder weld rolling around in the bottom of the mixer when it came out of the box, but the unit worked. Secondly, the battery compartment is a disaster, the battery easily pops in, but to get it out you need a screwdriver to pry the battery out and that can bend the power pins, which means you have to fix it each time you put in a new battery. You also don't know the power drain on the battery so it could fail during a show. I would have been willing to pay a little more if it came with an adaptor as it does have an power pin input. The barrel for the power pin input is standard, but a less common power pin sizes so if you use a power brick, you will need wires.

When you need another few audio inputs, this small, neat, clean battery operated mixer is just the ideal solution to the problem. Can't see a thing wrong with the construction nor the audio quality. Can't go wrong.

Comments about Nady MM-141 4-Channel Mini Mixer:

As a Battery 20 db. booster for you guitar, computer, mic, phone, mp3,to powered speakers or amps for less than 18.00 from M.F. it is great. I just ordered my second one from M.F.. I also us it to boost my passive mic to my Roland Mobile Cube and Roland Street cube. Simple to use , turn the Volume On switch to 10, and turn your Channel volume from 1 up. Clean, Quiet, works very well for your Martin and Taylor guitars with their weak pickups to give a clean boost. Or any weak sounding guitar.

Comments about Nady MM-141 4-Channel Mini Mixer:

I needed to amplify a Stratocaster, Martin acoustic, banjo and ukulele for a pit orchestra at a local high school. With limited space, I was able to plug in a mic with impedence transformer for the banjo and ukulele and plug in the Stratocaster. I used a sound hole pickup and the mic for the Martin. I was able to run this all into a club amp. The needs were sound, space and convenience. The Nady MM 141 worked perfectly.

This mixer is great for active mics, guitars, and other powered devices. You may run into troubles if you have passive devices. So you may be able to power them with a simple preamp, like a guitar pedal, or amplifier.

NADY AUDIO MIXER NM-141 4-CHANNEL MIXER
I don't feel like I was treated like a friend of Musician's Friend with this product that was sent to me. First, there was no weight indicated in the description, just the size. I assumed the mixer was a lot lighter, but when I got the mixer, I was quickly disappointed by it's heavy weight - about 2 - 2.5 lbs. It's definitely too heavy for portable use. It's made with a thick metal encasing. Definitely a durable shell, but not ideal for portable use. I intended on using this to connect several audio mics to monitor simultaneously while out in the field shooting video.
A faulty product or badly designed? When I connected my Zoom H1 directly into the mixer, I first set the Zoom H1's output to 100 and the mixer's master and individual volume controls had to be turned up to 8 to hear anything. At 7 it was almost silent, then at 8 I could hear audio, but with a strong background hiss. So I set the Zoom H1's output to 70 and had to turn up both the individual and master audio controls to 9 to hear the audio normally (getting rid of the hiss). But with this setting, 90% of the mixer is useless. I'm not sure if I need a preamp to make this mixer work properly. There's a fresh 9V battery installed in the mixer with the power light lit bright green. I tested all 4 channels with the same results.
I would definitely NOT recommend this product to anyone.

I should have heeded the negative reviews, although I never even powered one. I received the first mixer scratched with naffed screws, chipped paint and rusty metal. This is quality control? The second two replacements were the same- scratched, no power switch, no gold plated connectors, obviously reconditioned earlier models different from what is pictured on the site. This was after requesting a check at shipping for the specific unit as pictured. Everyone at MF was polite and expediting, but NADY and the MF shipping dept get no stars.

This unit is not a big board. Don't expect it to work like one, but it does what it supposed to do, and does it well. Originally had a slight hiss, but problem resolved with a slight shot of WD40 under the master control, then turning the master control back and forth rapidly a few times. Hiss is gone; it works great!
