Comments about Nady MM-242 4-Channel Mini Mixer:

While you only get mono with the Nady MM 14FX, it way better built than this MM(stereo). The 14FX has a neat slide out door for the 9vt batt. This MM(stereo) is behind two screws in the bottom. If the batt runs down..it just stops dead and a pain to change the battery. Most all wall warts are not filtered..I finally used the Power All and it is highly filtered. This MM(stereo) has half the gain of the 14X. You will need to boost the gain on the amp you are feeding, or put the feed through another pre amp. Understand and over come the limits, and this is a great little box for experimenters. Come on Nady..that slide door was genius. Make it happen..and boost each channel to the same as the 14FX.

Don't do it!

By Joey-bszUx

Comments about Nady MM-242 4-Channel Mini Mixer:

This thing hums, sputters, and I've had a few times that it simply quit working on me for absolutely no reason, only to start working again just as randomly. If you like such gambles, especially while onstage with bandmates and audience eagerly staring you down, go for it. This was a waste of money, and in the future, I will be avoiding products from this manufacturer.

Terrible

Comments about Nady MM-242 4-Channel Mini Mixer:

I purchased this mixer for it's low price to run various electronics into it, and I was very disappointed. Using a wall wart with it is horrible, it gives off a nasty hum that cannot be removed, even with the volume settings at the highest level. Using a 9volt battery minimizes the hum, but not enough for me.Stay far away from this; Get a Behringer.

Don't pay for it

Comments about Nady MM-242 4-Channel Mini Mixer:

I got this one free in a box with a duo wireless mic set. If I try to use the AC adapter, I get a huge buzz that can't be eliminated.Running off a 9V battery, it functions all right, but there is still a very faint buzz.If you are in the market for an inexpensive mixer, buy a Behringer Eurorack instead. The 8 channel one is the same price as this 4 channel hunk of junk, and the 5 channel Behringer is even cheaper if you're really that cheap.

utility mixer

Comments about Nady MM-242 4-Channel Mini Mixer:

For $35. it's about what I expected. It hums when powered with the wall wart - definitely noticeable, and almost bothersome. I used it in church simply to create a separate submix for our pianist's monitors. Once the music gets going the hum is unnoticeable, but in the quieter times, we have to turn down the monitors to suppress the hum. Definitely NOT recording nor main mix quality. I could see where the 9v battery power might make it useful in the field for speech capture...

Returned it.... Twice!!!!

By reno

Comments about Nady MM-242 4-Channel Mini Mixer:

The item is only $35 so you can't expect much, but I do expect it to work properly with other equipment. I tried using this device as a solution to creating multi 1/4" inputs to my MPC 2000, but I couldn't get rid of the hum/buzz/feedback sound...EVEN WITH ALL LEVELS AT ZERO!!! I tried balanced and unbalanced wires, different media... and still nothing. Beware!!!

Not enough clean gain

By JD-A51zr

from Wisconsin

Comments about Nady MM-242 4-Channel Mini Mixer:

Well I was hoping to avoid buying a quality line mixer to monitor my 8 track Reel to Reel outputs via headphones. This unit just doesn't provide enough clean gain; it fuzzes and distorts when you raise the volume above half-way.
