Comments about Nady PCM-100 Classic Condenser Mic:
We use the mic for group Bluegrass playing/singing around the mic and so far seems to do quite well for our needs.
Comments about Nady PCM-100 Classic Condenser Mic:
I purchased this mic for a rockabilly look. It is by no means comparable to an sm58. But with some adjusting you can get it to sound ok. We use alot of slap back delay and the less than perfect sound actually works for a vintage tone. You will have to work with your eq to eliminate some monitor problems. I also opened it up and removed the black foam and put an orange one in. looks pretty cool.
Comments about Nady PCM-100 Classic Condenser Mic:
The retro look is way cool- very desirable on stage for any music from the 40's - 60's. It DOES feed back if using monitors but there is a simple fix AND you need to check the insides anyway.Undo the 5 screws and remove the face of the mic. The red LED has 2 short wires attached to it- don't rip them out. Lay both 1/2s side by side. Check the positioning of the diaphragm. It should be level- not tipped to one side. Mine was at a 45 angle, which means I would need to sing into the side of the mic for best results. Loosen the inner screw (on top) that holds the diaphragm in place, twist it straight, retighten. To reduce feedback- remove the mounting post/diaphragm assembly. Cut a piece of foam about the size of 1/2 a tennis ball and stick it behind the diaphragm. Reinstall the diaphragm (straight) and close it up. This eliminated my feedback problem (although I run quiet monitors).
Comments about Nady PCM-100 Classic Condenser Mic:
I bought this mic about 5 years ago because it was a condenser and it looked cool. To my surprise, it blew away a lot of mics that cost twice as much. I bought a perception 200 6 months ago and it can't touch this mic. My favorite thing about it is that you use one side for really picking up a large area, and then you spin it around to the side with the smaller slits for a more warm and smooth sound. Love this mic. Might buy a couple more for their versatility..
Comments about Nady PCM-100 Classic Condenser Mic:
Here?s the deal. If a ?retro? look is your primary criteria, you really can?t go wrong with this mic. But keep in mind that this is essentially a phantom powered, condenser mic packaged to look a lot like the classic, iconic Shure 55S *dynamic* mic. Its polar pattern is *not* optimized for on-stage sound reinforcement purposes. You?re really setting yourself up for feedback problems, particularly if you use stage monitors. With that being said, this mic sounds good enough to use in a home studio or for podcasting.
Comments about Nady PCM-100 Classic Condenser Mic:
i used this mic as the mic at my keyboard on a tour years ago. i really like it, it is really durable. it has a clean sound, but if you are really battling to cut through the mix in a loud band, you will get a lot of feed back. that was always my only problem with it. it picks up 360 around the mic, so stage monitors are its biggest enemy. but other than that its a good mic, im thinking of getting another for some acoustic shows, which is probably this mics best application. there are better mics out there in this price range, but they dont have the retro look.
Comments about Nady PCM-100 Classic Condenser Mic:
This mic has incredibly clear vocal reproduction. I bought this mic to use for live performance but it turns out is great in the studio too. I used it to mic my acoustic guitar and my electric and, could not be happier with the tonal quality !
Comments about Nady PCM-100 Classic Condenser Mic:
This is a surprisingly warm mic with relatively little self noise. It is SOLIDLY built with a nice finish. Sounds better than other low-cost Nady condensers.
