Comments about Nady PM-100 Personal Near Field Monitor Pair:

The Nady PM-100 are very similar to a much more expensive rival. Both use twin 5 inch speakers and handle 200 watts at 16 ohms. The speakers themselves are 8 ohms each, so if you don't overdrive them with too much power (100 watts RMS max) you can VERY easily rewire them for 4 ohms, making them REALLY loud with very little power. You can even make an impedance doubler, wire both cabinets for 4 ohms, and drive them both for 200 watts RMS, making them enough to serve as a full PA with just the addition of a subwoofer! You can also use them for extra mids and highs on a murky PA. Suffice to say, a pair can do a LOT as vocal monitors right out of the box and are a great bargain at that.

Comments about Nady PM-100 Personal Near Field Monitor Pair:

So far, we are less than impressed with these monitors. Purchased them for the band (vocalists are all using floor monitors) to put a little more volume at head level but we just can't seem to get enough volume out of them. Musicians all have amps dialed back since we run through a solid board and still wash the sound out of the monitors. I know other reviewers have had better luck and some with the same issue. We also were surprised by the 16 ohm, rather than the 8 ohm circuitry. If you need volume, this isn't what you're after.

        Loud Little Monitors

        By Buzzardhead

        from Rochester, NY

Comments about Nady PM-100 Personal Near Field Monitor Pair:

These monitors need to be relatively close to you. I play in a working rock band doing Trower, Aerosmith, Skynyrd, and other loud classic guitar rock tunes. This fits the bill for most clubs. If you want to play on an outdoor stage or a huge room these won't cut it but for the vast majority of shows these work great! I rated features a little low because they will spin around on the mic stands a little. You will need to use tape at the stand socket.

        Excellent

Comments about Nady PM-100 Personal Near Field Monitor Pair:

Don't let that last review throw you. These monitors will knock your head off. Granted they have to be on a stand pointed right at you but that is what they are designed for.

        Ok so...

Comments about Nady PM-100 Personal Near Field Monitor Pair:

So I just recieved these little monitors recently. Right out of the box you can tell that they are your standard cheaper line models. Dont' get me wrong though, setup is a breeze, and the sound does what you want it to do, monitor you or whatever you're putting through them. Plan on having them close though, as the name says, they are definently for close situations. Meaning on a stand next to you. Otherwise great buy for the price.
