I have both the non-powered Nady monitor (passive) and this powered Nady monitor (active), due to fact that I sometimes have different PA system configurations to plug into. This powered monitor is good, although it is not balanced on the stand that I use, leans in one direction and I feel it's putting pressure/strain on the plastic mount piece on the bottom of the monitor. I have used floor monitors in the past (they usually hit me around the kneecap, so I have to crank them way-up to even hear), so I am sold on the idea of using these monitors (I barely have to adjust the volume about 2, since they are placed at my ear level about 4 feet away from my head).Great idea, good unit and I've had little problems (be sure to purchase a few extra fuses, since the fuse mount is located in the back and with moving around, these fuses can get loose and fall out - I had to go on the internet to find the correct replacements, so I bought 5 and keep them in the PA bag).

Decent. The sound it alright for the price. Giving you the option to output to 2 other non-powered speakers is nice and the EQ on it can be helpful. I'll just be looking for something a little more rugged.
Being power themselves, these are nice little monitors that you can use to send a signal to a second and third monitor as well. We've used it that way in our church setup for a while now.
We have had 2 PM-200A and a PM-100 on stage at our church. Both PM-200A units have fallen off of the mic stands (even using the adapter) and broke. The first one had a cracked circuit board inside and was told it would cost as much for a new board as it would to buy a new unit. The second one fell and the input jack component broke in half, causing a wonderful buzzing noise when you plug anything into it or any other jack. These things don't seem to be made to take any kind of beating. Too fragile in my opinion.
I would say it would be a good value if it's something you aren't going to be moving around a lot. We set up and tear down each week, so I guess it was just a matter of time before one of them hit the floor, I just wish it would have been made a little stronger.

Comments about Nady PM-200A Powered Personal Stage Monitor:

I've had this many years as a drummer's monitor ... I had to build a more durable base/pipe connection but once I did I gradually became impressed (bordering on awe) at how tough and durable this unit is. The control dials tend to run a little loose (spin just a bit over the course of a night) but not bad ... but it has huge headroom and some nice features.

The monitor needs a mic stand adapter, which does not come with the equipment.
It would have been a better purchasing experience to note on the monitor description, that an extra part would be needed. No one likes those kind of surprises.

These little powered monitors are powerful! We use one for the drummer (electric drums), one for the electric piano player, and one for the synth player. This way, each person can turn up their monitor volume without turning up their instrument volume.

Comments about Nady PM-200A Powered Personal Stage Monitor:

I had used the un-powered version of this monitor for quite a while, but I needed something that would take a line level signal and give me a strong monitor of that source. When I learned that it came in a powered version, I ordered one and it did a great job. I have used it as a monitor when playing drums and when playing keyboards. Now others in the group want the same advantage, so I ordered 2 more.

I've been using this for a while now and it sounds great and really cuts through, even with my loud rock band. I listened to several other active personal monitors and the PM-208A sounded the best and had the best price. I've been really pleased with this choice.

One of the two 5 inch speakers blew during my first song. The system is made of particle board and is weak. The system has plenty of power and the speakers do not sound bad when they are in good condition. This unit though is not working as it should and the output to hook up extension speakers is not working. I think this is just a bad system, a fluke not representative of Nady products. If I could do it over though I would have purchased a different system!

Comments about Nady PM-200A Powered Personal Stage Monitor:

This is a perfect solution for me to have control of my ambient sound on stage. I set it the way I want it. It suppliments the tonal qualities I need and want that are lost on stage. Now I hear clearly what the audience hears and I don't have to guess what I hear the others playing therefore, I can be right on. The only part I am not impressed with is the plastic socket that the microphone stand that supports it fits into. I believe the unit is too heavy and a little off balance for this piece of plastic to last very long. I will make one out of metal on the lathe as a backup! Otherwise I don't want to gig without it.
