I have been using these speakers for Dj'ing events for over 2 years now and I have had problems with ever one of them. But it was fixable and Nady has a good warranty that covered it. The problems all had to do with the construction on the crossovers, they either weren't attached right on arrival or diconnected. (They need to construct this) I called their hotline and sent the cross over in, for a new one and every thing has been fine since. I have blown a tweeter once, but it was my falt. I was using a Nady 2100 watt Amp(Great Amp) on two of these 300 watt speakers. I should of done the math. Anyway Nady covered it anyway, no loss. I now have two Nady 500 watt subs to go through first then to the 300 watt speakers. You learn from experience. Overall Nady has good potential, they sound good and the price is right. In the future once I book enough jobs I might upgrade.

These are the worst speakers I have ever used in my life. I own a music booking company, we book roughly 60 shows a month and I run sound at some of them. I also host/run sound at a small coffeeshop. I bought these speakers because I had upgraded my power amp and I didn't have much money left in the budget to buy nicer speakers. I already had a Yamaha se12, which would handle my new amp fine, but my other two speakers were 10" Squier speakers from my small p.a. When I got to the open mic and plugged these in they weren't pushing out as much power as the squier ones were. In addition to this they sounded horible, I couldn't use these as mains, even in a 60 person capacity coffeehouse. I set them up as monitors and they were barely usable for even that. These speakers have the worst high end I have ever heard and they are really muddy overall. The 10" Squiers that I had sounded 1000 times better than these Nadys, and obviously the Yamaha sounded billions of times better. I have had these speakers for roughly 3 months now and the plastic where the jacks are secured broke within the first week on one, and two weeks ago on the other. This caused the jacks to fall inside of the speaker. I fixed both of them, using larger nuts so that they wouldnt fall in, but this past weekend they both broke again. Since I bought these I have also bought a couple Yamaha BR 12's and they are soooo much better. I would highly reccomend to save up your money and buying something of a higher quality,

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

I own this product and I was pretty happy with it for a few months, because it was my first PA. You basically get what you pay for though, it's a good entry-level cab, but without the power and durability of the higher-priced products. It actually works great as a guitar speaker also.

These speakers sound really good. I was very suprised at how good actually. My brother has them also and is a dj and has been pounding them for 2 years and they are fine. I would buy again.

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

I bought two of these speakers to DJ a church youth group dance. The one speaker worked fine, but the other started cracking and popping with very little power being put through it. Very disappointing. Unfortunately, you really do only get what you pay for. I'd be interested to here what NADY has to say to defend itself against the bad reviews I've recently read here. I only wish I had read the reviews before I bought.

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

I purchased 2 of these for pa use at my band's jam space. Other than having to purchase additional adapters to hook them up correctly I realyl have no complaints. I've had them for several months now, and week after week I push them to their limits with no problems. All in all; if you need some good speakers at a great price get them. Good sound, good value, not bad on portability, and will take whatever you can throw at them.

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

I bought these about a year ago after 20 minutes of open mic night at a club i my ears couldnt take any more punishment so i had to set up a different pair. These are the WORST speakers i have ever heard. The jacks at the back fell in after a month of use.and now they are sitting in the back of my garage after one of the tweeters blew last june. If you are low on cash save up and buy something better.

i got these to run from a 300w powered mixer split 150 each. everything sounds pretty decent but then they blow out. i had them send me new ones and those blew out too. i'm just going to have to fix them over and over or sell them for ridiculously cheap and buy something that is not poorly constructed. i am very disappointed.

I?m a struggling D.J. with a limited income, so I decided to purchase these speakers due to my budget. What a mistake. The 1st gig I did the speaker blew up. Luckily I had 2 other Kustom speakers that made it trough the party (not that they are any better). The bottom line is this: Don?t buy this crap!!!!

Best Budget PA speakers I've heard

By Audiolovingguy

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

I bought these speakers when I was on a shoestring budget about 3 years ago. They proved to be a great investment, with decent bass and a fair amount of power for 12" speakers. They have great binding posts and dual 1/4" inputs, so choosing cables is easy. The biggest shortcoming is the cheapo piezo driver, however, the horn uses a standard thread so you can replace the tweeter with anything your heart desires. They are far better than some of the other speakers I've heard in the same price range (custom, tech pro, etc). Buy them for a smaller space and replace the tweeters when you've saved up another $40.

I dont know what these people are talking about, I purchased two of these two years ago. Very reliable and good tone especially coinsidering the price. If you want Yamaha quality then buy a yamaha, if you want good value these fit the bill.

Embarrassing

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

purchased a pair of PS112 in january 2004 for use in our church, tied to house sound along with a pair of similar Yamaha speakers we had for years. The Nady's do not sound good no matter what we try to do to dress them up. Inefficient, unclear, limited tonal range, do not respond well to EQ adjustments or anything else to our knowledge.

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

I purchased a pair of these speakers on September 25, 2006, and I was blown away when they came in. I am a DJ in Columbia, South Carolina. I am also a Music Teacher and am a Keyboard player/singer in a local band. After listening to these speakers, I was very pleased. You can't beat them for the cost. What a great deal for anyone looking for some fun speakers to use. If you are not satisfied with these speakers, then you obviously purchased them for the wrong reasons. They will not do large venues or out side gigs, but for practicing or small gigs, they are perfect. I am going to be adding 2 more this week. I am using them on a 600w yamaha amp 300 split to each speaker, and they are loud and clear.

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

I will never buy anything from nady again. they are the worst cut corner brand ever. i bought these speakers about a year ago and they were ok because we just used them for vocals and our practice room wasn't that big. well tonight i blew both of them because we had to use it for a show and i was only using a 200 watt mixer. 3 other bands had to use them and i feel so sorry for them and the people that cam to see the show they were robbed. absolutely terrible! save up and get some yamaha's kids! they make stuff worth buying.

I bought a set of these about 3 years ago. I've used them out maybe 3-4 times. They are the worst sounding speakers I own. I bought these for my band when we got outa grade school because up untill them we had been using home audio speakers, these might sound worse. I think theyre more usefull as legs for a coffee table than speakers.

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

Never Again. These speakers were the worst thing I've ever bought. Right outa the box there were problems. one of the tweekers wasn't connected, but that was an easy fix. later this year i opened up the cab to see if i could fix the tweeter again because it stoped working. what i found was one of the wimpyest speakers i'd ever seen. The speakers in my stereo system have more gerth the these things. trust me, dont get inticeed by the price. they arent work your time.STAY AWAY FROM NADY!!!

For the price, these speakers work very well. Hooked up to a vintage Peavy 300watt head, they sound great. As long as you don't scream or make stupid inaudible noises into them, they are awesome. I don't understand why they got bad ratings.

Ask me a question

Comments about Nady PS112 12" 300W 2-Way Full-Range Speaker:

Not sure what the others are running these through, but I have had very good luck with these. Been a gigging musician for 30+ years. If you want Mackie or similar quality you will have to pay for it. These are not high-end speakers but they do function fine. I use a Nady XA-300 that matches perfectly with these speakers. A Behringer EQ and small unpowered mixer. This is a rehearsal PA, but works fine and I have had them for about 3 years now. The only issue I had was the carpet covering was peeling off. I just used contact cement to reglue everything and it's been fine since. If you use to much power, you will blow these. They do offer banana and 1/4" inputs so you have connection options. Plus, they are lightweight for the size.
