Nady PSW-152 Dual 15" Subwoofer

Comments about Nady PSW-152 Dual 15" Subwoofer:

I said what I needed to say earlier but overall I am pleased with these cabinets. They have an innovative design not seen at this price and offer a quality output. Please realize these are rated at 400 watts with a peak rating of 800. You can overdrive these speakers with the high power amps available today. If you need a sub with higher watt capabilities, the Nady's may not be adequate for you but again, plan to spend much more money. You can't expect one or two of these to give the concert bass heard through a line array system using many many cabinets. If you use these cabinets correctly, they perform well.
There seems to be some confusion about these dual subwoofer cabinet's ohm rating. I have two of these and both were wired in series producing an 8 ohm load. The cabinet itself says 8 ohm so mine were correct. Many dual cabinets are wire in parallel using 8 ohm speakers, producing a 4 ohm load.
Anyway, the Nady's I have are 8 ohm cabinets. The "clamshell" design seems inovative and none available anywhere at this price. EAW has a similar design but far more expensive. I don't quite know why there are two pole sockets per cabinet but they exist. They are liftable but not easily done by one person. You will need to use a crossover with these cabinets. The Behringer 1502, for less than $100 has a nice subwoofer output with a parametric crossover point and gives you stereo eq as well but any extrenal crossover should work fine. There is no crossover in the Nady cabinet.
Adequate for my needs. The cabinet may not hold up well if abused or dropped. I plan to install in a fixed location. If I were planning to move these around, I would consider casters or simply use a hand truck. There are well placed handels on these cabinets.
For the money, these would be hard to beat. There are better subs available but not at this price.

Grate Value & Sound

Comments about Nady PSW-152 Dual 15" Subwoofer:

I needed a new sub for my DJ system, and was limited on funds. I saw that this subwoofer had good reviews, so I made the purchased. The sound quality is nice, does not need alot of power to push it, and even sounds great without a crossover. The cabinet is built pretty good, but not as heafty as I would like for road use. Still a very product. I will most likely add a second one in the near future.
