For the price, these are hard to beat. It is difficult to rate a piece of equipment without a side-by-side comparison. Most PA speakers weak point is the tweeter and crossover. A simple modification with a L-Pad ( light dimmer control) will allow you the ability to turn down the horn and protect it, balance the sound( high frequencies). A 30 minutes effort, makes this twice the cab. The 400 watt rating, overly optimistic, I wouldn't push it unless you want to replace the speaker.

Well, I bought this one, Nady PTS515, back in 12/02, as a blem. The speaker did not work right out of the box. Loose wiring req'd me to do some soldering. Same for the horn, then both worked. Hmm. Let's also put this way: DON'T PUT 400 WATTS to this thing. I know b/c I also used to own the PS115's, a pair w/ 15"'s. Those are "rated" to handle 500 wts. NO WAY. We ran my Crown CE1000 @ 275 wts. This PTS; 200 wts continuous. That did it fine, nicely. I only have one PTS515 for now; I used the 115's for mains, and the PTS as a front end monitor. I'll get another PTS to have a complete pair. Gave the 115's to my nephew for his P.A. Overall, they are "OK". Nothing really spectacular, but decent enough to do practice/small gigs thing. JBL's, MACKIES, heck, even Peavey or Kustom's would be better, but these aren't all bad, if that's all one can afford. Just watch the wiring jobs...

After a while, you get what you paid for..

Comments about Nady PTS515 12" 400 Watt 2-Way Trapezoid Speaker Cabinet:

I had purchased a set of the PTS515's about 4-5 years ago. I've not used them with much power, nothing more than their 400watt RMS ratings. They seemed to hold up fine, however about 1yr later, the horn in one of them begin to blow, eventually quitting all together on me. Replaces it. The 2nd went on me another yr later. The horns are not good at all, but the woofers in them hold out pretty good. I recently bought the Peavey PV-1.3k amp, it's a larger amp, but if you keep good EQ's, they'll do fine. The speakers are not very good, if your looking for "Ear-bleeding" sound. But if you keep these puppies with a good EQ-set, they'll work fine. I mean, I've had them for 5yrs, I love them. But am upgrading to bigger speakers, for my amp's heavy power. I'd recommend them for smaller venues, but not anything larger.

an excellent deal for the price

Comments about Nady PTS515 12" 400 Watt 2-Way Trapezoid Speaker Cabinet:

I've been using a set of these for about 3yrs, 3-4 gigs a month, and for the appx $100ea I paid, I couldn't be happier. Sure, the cheap plastic feet & corners tend to crack or even break off, but they sound really good (we run vocals only thru them), & have been VERY reliable. Great deal for the money.

Comments about Nady PTS515 12" 400 Watt 2-Way Trapezoid Speaker Cabinet:

pretty nice little package here, in a very durable wooden box. i dropped it down a 40 foot escalator, and it still plays perfectly! this box can handle mostly anyhing that can be thrown at it, keeping in mind this thing was really inexpensive.

I didn't really like how it's so expensive

    By Foolio

Comments about Nady PTS515 12" 400 Watt 2-Way Trapezoid Speaker Cabinet:

I think it's really expensive for how bad quality it is. I suggest lowering the prices a little. I used to use the speakers, and they really weren't that great.

Lots of speaker for the money

    By Bill-QDLrB

Comments about Nady PTS515 12" 400 Watt 2-Way Trapezoid Speaker Cabinet:

Performs well. We haven't put alot of power to it yet - maybe 100 watts RMS max so far. Handles bass and midrange smoothly, but could be a little brighter on the high-end. In live sound reinforcement, it does almost as well as a couple of other portable speakers we use that are bigger names and much more expensive. Time will tell how rugged it is, but so far we are very pleased with what the price got us. It's alot more than I expected for the money.

Awesome highs, great mids, lows could be punchier

Comments about Nady PTS515 12" 400 Watt 2-Way Trapezoid Speaker Cabinet:

Well, I use a pair of these as house PA speakers, and they work great. When I play music through them, the lows aren't all that great, but they work! Awesome product for a stellar value!
