Overall, very good package and well worth the money. I do have other, more expensive mics but I use these right alongside them, and I have stopped paying big bucks for stands when these are available for such a great price.
I have a few of the SP-1s that I use for my home studio and amateur radio applications. I normally use a 12AX7 tube preamp and it takes up some of the slack pretty nicely as the mic is a little on the quiet side. It does, however, have a very warm sound and reproduces pretty accurately. I am careful with all of my mics (even my SM58s) so I don't really know how tough it it, but it does what it's supposed to. I also have a few of these stahds and they work pretty well for stage and studio, and I trust them to hold my SM58s and AKG C535EBs. The SM58 does tend to slip out of these clips, but I don't think that is the fault of the clip, rather the shape of the SM58.
I give a quality rating of 9 not because of the microphone or stand, but the cable that comes with it. I am pretty gentle with my equipment unless I am touring, and while I have never had a real issue with the cables, they do feel a little cheap. They are kind of stiff and you can definitely tell the difference between a monster and these. I suggest that you re-solder all of the contacts as soon as you get these cables. I did that to mine and they work well.
Excellent value. You are basically paying for the stand and getting a good mic and a decent cable for free.

Well, I bought this a while ago and to tell the truth, I was more than happy with it... for a while. The mic and cables are great, but the stand died in about one week. Now, I don't abuse equipment, but this thing looked like it was made out of cheap metal. I'm not that worried about replacing it b/c I have no real use for it right now, but I do feel my money was partially wasted on this. I gave it a 5 in features because even with the stand dying, the mic and cable is still decent for entry level I suppose.

Excellent bang for buck mic kit

Comments about Nady SP1 Microphone and Stand Package:

I liked this so much that I recommeded it to the club where I was playing for a house mic. I would definately suggest this mic kit to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive outfit. I don't think that the stand would hold up to the beating that a heavily traveled band would put it through, but for a hobby musician like myself looking for a second mic for guest singers it is a great product.
I just used this for the first time at a show last night and I am very pleased with the mic and the stand. I also liked the 20 foot cable. When I purchased this kit I thought that for the price if the stand was decent that alone was worth it. I found that the mic is fairly decent also.
For the price I did not expect to much. The only thing I would change is the tightener for the boom. I would use a metal bar instead of plastic, but for the price I am happy with what it is.
This is an great value. I did not expect the warm, rich tone from the mic and am very happy with the rest of the package.

Good For Casual Use

Comments about Nady SP1 Microphone and Stand Package:

I bought this for home use since my acoustic guitar is louder than my voice. I was shopping for a mic stand to use with a karaoke-type mic I had purchased from another retailer. I saw this package and thought "Why not?". I am so glad I did! The stand feels pretty sturdy for home use, and is adjustable enough to accommodate standing or sitting, plus the boom can go vertical, allowing it to be lowered for singing without an instrument. The feet take up a good bit of floor space, but they tuck away nicely so the stand can go into a closet when not in use.

I do wish MF would package a 1/4" male connector with this set, instead of the XLR. I would guess that the outstanding price of this package would more likely draw casual musicians (read: more likely to run all sound through an amp) than gigging musicians with full sound setups.
Mic stand is hefty, has a variety of adjustment options, and can collapse to be stowed away when not in use.
The stand is the real star! Mic sounds pretty good through guitar amp and usb interface, but feels kind of light weight and fragile.
It's like I got a free mic and cable with the purchase of a stand. I had to purchase my own specialty cables to use with my amp and USB interface, but even so, the mic and stand are still an excellent value.

This was how much?

Comments about Nady SP1 Microphone and Stand Package:

Package comes with a great mic stand, very sturdy. the Nady SP-1 definitely isn't the best, but it really gets the job done! good sound quality. only problem I've noticed is that it picks up vibrations in the mic stand. when all is said and done, its a great package.
not a lot of features, but what do u need with a mic and stand? mic has ON/OFF switch, which is definitely nice. and stand is very adjustable.
seems to be good quality. I have owned for a few months now, and I've dropped the mic a few times by accident (oops) and its still working just fine.
GREAT value!!! stand and a nice little mic for a great price! definitely hard to beat!

Great Value

Comments about Nady SP1 Microphone and Stand Package:

Well worth the price! I have been using this setup for over four years now without a problem. I upgraded the cable as 20' just wasn't working for our setup. About to purchase another one to dedicate a channel to the board for the talkbox I recently purchased. I don't think you can go wrong with this mic and stand.

Incredible Value

Comments about Nady SP1 Microphone and Stand Package:

I use these to mic guitar amps (I just twist of the windscreen) and the record vocals for my up-and-coming studio. You don't need Shure SM's to do the work when a much more affordable mic does the work fine. Perfect for those on a budget.
A no-frills dynamic mic, removable windscreen. The boom stand is fully adjustable and the cable is... A cable.
It's storied that SM58's can be used as hammers, and so can these, but at like 1/5 of the price. Carries sound without distortion; I use it on vocals and miking guitar cabs and they work great.

The stand is rock solid. The cable works, and that's all that matters really.
Only mic set-up of this kind at this price range. I got 3 of them and am not regretting it.

With this price; you just cant complain ;p might not be the best mic, might not be the best cord or stand: but its all great & worth the money!None of it is crap. I tried it all out for months now.No dissapointments; Still all holds up. I dont see how any one hasa problem with the mic stand or mic unless they thow it at crowds or the ground, lol.Witch if you do, thats just stupid. ;p Can tell its not the best; But better than alot who claim it!!! Any band on a budget should seriously look in to these; you wont be dissapointed.

A Bargain for What It Is

Comments about Nady SP1 Microphone and Stand Package:

So, I've purchased two of these so far and couldn't have been more satisfied with the product for the price I payed. You're actually getting a mic stand (which is normally 20 bucks alone) plus a mic and a cable. The stand is good, but occasionally something comes loose. No major issues though. Quality product. The microphone isn't bad, but I found it a wee bit quiet. This, however, was in comparison to much more expensive models. Seeing as this mic was basically free, I'm not complaining. The cable is the worst thing about this, but it's not terrible. It lasted for longer than a more expensive cable though. About 3 months longer, in fact. And you have to remember, it's pretty much free.Anyway, shutting up, this is a great deal for the money. It's perfect for practices and smaller shows. If I were doing a larger show or running a decent sized venue, however, I would just have these as back ups. For just starting out or wanting a spare though, this deal can't be beat.

I've been using these for a couple of weeks now and they sound great, no noise, the on-off switch is a plus and the stands seem well made. In all, a lot more than I expected at the price.
