I've owned one of these bad boys for a couple of years now. I've used it over a dozen times with absolutely no problems. When I use my sound system it's on for 6 to 8 hours straight, with no breaks at all, crankin' out up to 120 decibels of house music.... constantly. I've been using the Nady SPA1400 to power two cabinets that each have one 15" folded horn box with a 24"x7" horn midrange and small horn tweeter mounted on top. These speakers are made by Klipshe and are straight out of the 70's but were top of the line at that time. I've changed out the original woofers with some cheap rolled edge woofers. Anyways, using this amp with those speakers I get more bass and louder overall volume with beautiful clarity than I can squeeze out of the rest of my entire sound system wich consists of 6 Gemsound club style cabinets with 15" woofers and 3 tweets. I've also used this amp to power 4 of those Gemsound cabinets with great results. There is no noticeable noise or distortion caused by the amp itself, and it has a nice frequency range with lots of punch. Don't let these other reviews discourage you from buying this amp. Those guys must not know much about their own equipment. Of course you can't turn the thing up all the way, no amp is made to do that with. It all depends on the level of your incoming signal, if there's too much preamp on your signal before it even gets the the amp than you're going to clip your amp out at half gain. Turn off the dummy switch (clip limiter) on the back of this thing and only turn this amp up until you barely start to see that clip warning light turn red at peaks, then back it down one notch. That's all the volume you will get out of it, if you don't like it than eq out certain frequencies (ex. For full range cabinets cut out some bass, since it eats the most power, and let your subs do the dirty work.), then turn it up again. If you get it right, depending on you speaker set up, you can get it to reach 120 decibels of full frequency sound all night long!

If you are about to leave bad review, read this first. As everybody here who bought one of these amps, mine cuts of every 5 mins. I tried placing fans outside but nothing hanged at all. Well I went to the manual an it says: "Sincethe airflow is from the rear to the front, it is important tokeep both the inlet in the rear and the output in the frontclear of obstructions to enable efficient cooling airflow."Well if someone noticed the fan is blowing the opposite side... OMG what a mistake so I just changed the position of it and now the amp works better, I also recommend install a exhaust fan on the front if you know how to do it. Another but do it under your own risk, is removing the top of the PA (as I did b4) and put it into a 3 rack space case, if you need, put a an external fan to help the air flow. This is a good solution but you gotta be careful, I don't really think someone is going to tickle the PA inside while is on.Well I hope it helps and b4 throwing it away or sell it to someone who doesn't know anything about this... do it yourself and good luck!

My fans were in backwards

I bought one of these, and found that the fans were blowing front-to-back. I physically turned them around in the chassis, and have had no overheating issues. I mixed a half-dozen shows outside in the August heat, with no problems. I did run the amp into 8 ohms per side, being leery of the dreaded thermal shutdowns I'd read about here. I have not tried high power into low impedances for extended duty yet. The amp sounds good, and has nice features, but at this price point, there should be better quality control.

Keeps cutting out.

By wonko_el_sano

After about an hour of moderate use, it cuts out. I've had this happen twice with the same model. The first was sent back because of this, and I returned it. Now the second one is doing the same thing.

Amp Overheats

By Stephen-qIAc7

from Denver CO

I got a SPA1400 to drive my B1800X subs. It didn?t work. It overheats and cuts out in about 15 min at 4ohm bridged mono. This happened mid show, so I thought no problem, 8ohm stereo should be no problem. After letting it cool off, I hooked it up to a pair of S15e?s. It was fine for about 30 min, then it started cutting out.If it worked, the clip limiter and the LF cut would be nice.

Great Amp

By Greg Mac

I've owned this amp for almost a year as our vocal monitor system. It works Great. No overload, no cutout. Might be we don't use the amp at full power 100% of the time. It's vocal monitors running the amp about 3/4 power with a 4ohm load on each side. Plenty of power for our monitors and it sound Great.

I find that this amp over heats way before breaking sweat or even getting loud. This amp needs fans!

Know What You're Buying!

By NakedBanjoMan

The rated power output is "peak". Nady told me that RMS output, which is what the rest of the work uses, is half the peak power! Also, the amp is made in China!!
