OVERVIEW

19" all-metal rackmount 4-channel UHF receiver with 4 bodypack transmitters and lavalier mics.

This Nady U-41 QUAD wireless system is a professional 4-channel UHF wireless system which offers clear, natural sounding wireless with 4 bodypack transmitters and lavalier mics. The Nady U-41 QUAD receiver delivers four discrete channels in the 902-928MHz and 944-952MHz bands for interference-free performance in any application or locale. It also features Nady's proprietary companding and low noise circuit for a 120dB dynamic range. The back panel has balanced XLR mic level outputs, an unbalanced 1/4" jack line level sum output with separate volumes, and external adjustable mute control for each channel. On the front panel, the LED display indicates TX On (single LED) and 5-segment AF levels for each channel. The Nady U-41 also features dual removable antennas.

UB-4 Bodypack Transmitter
The compact UB-4 Bodypack Transmitter is a convenient way to add a lavalier mic (included) to your wireless arsenal, though it can also be used with your instrument if you'd like to play wire- and worry-free. The locking 3.5mm mini-jack ensures a secure connection every time out. It has an Off/Standby/On switch for allows uncomplicated audio muting while the transmitter is on. Other features on this wireless mic system include a status LED indicator that flashes once for unit on or stays steady when the battery is low, easily accessible input level adjust control for optimum sound when using the lavalier mic, and the wireless system runs on a single 9V alkaline or NiMH battery.

Consumer Alert:

Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change. For more information, call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC) or visit the FCCs wireless microphone website at: www.fcc.gov/cgb/wirelessmicrophones.

Comments about Nady U-41 Quad Omni Lav Wireless System (14/16/10/12):

I do sound for various types of events and need an affordable, reclaimable multi-channel wireless. Since I've bought Nady gear in the past and always found them to be a good value I bought the U-41 4-channel wireless.I have had the system for almost a year and used it in numerous locations and haven't had any interference problems, I think probably because of the high 900 MHz band this system operates in, which is above all UHF TV channels. I've been using the body pack transmitters with lavalier and headset mics, and both of them sound great.

Comments about Nady U-41 Quad Omni Lav Wireless System (14/16/10/12):

There is a reason you get four lavalier systems in the Nady Quad unit for less than the price of singular good unit, they don't work well. One body pack dies after 15 minutes of use and two had problems with the signal dropping constantly. We were approximately 15 feet from the receiver and this should not have been a problem. We wound up turning the mics off and had to talk in a controlled yell for the last hour of the speaking engagement. If you buy this unit expect to get what you paid for. At least Musicians Friend was very good at handling the return.

Comments about Nady U-41 Quad Omni Lav Wireless System (14/16/10/12):

I own this system, and it is certainly convenient to have multiple channels in one system, but I'm not very happy with it. There is a lot of crosstalk among the channels. You have to do a lot of fooling around with the Mute pots in order to keep this under control, but then you may have reception/range issues. One transmitter died after less than a dozen gigs, and another has become somewhat intermittent. Another important point with this particular system is that you really can't use the lav mics for singing because they sound terrible. We went with the lav system because headset mics can sometimes feel uncomfortable and it's hard to stop fussing with them, but these lavs sound like a very cheap PA system and in fact the 4 mics do not even sound exactly the same. I have a few other minor Nady products which I chose because they were inexpensive and they're fine, but if I had to do it again I'd save money from a few more shows and get a higher-end system.
