I love this product. I have tried about 30 other wireless recievers and they all died and the sound became terrible after a few months. But this one I have had for a long time I dont know how long i've had it because I havent had to do anything to fix it.
I spent quite a bit of time researching to try and determine the best wireless instrument system in the price range, comparing specs reading reviews etc. I received the Nady UHF-16 hooked it up and adjusted it per the manual and. . . What a letdown, severe loss of signal, fuzzy sound and completely changed the tonality of my bass. According to Nady, I needed and "active GT cable" because I was using a bass with active pickups. This is a little piece of information that you won't find anywhere. I turned around that evening after talking to Nady and connected my old Fender Jazz fretless, no active pickups and was still dissapointed with the same results although not quite as bad. My old Sanson VLZTD sounds far superior. I finally gave up and returned it for a refund.
I have owned this wireless for over a year and have enjoyed it very much. I have it mounted in a pedal board so I do not have to set-up and tear down every time I want to use. I use it a couple times a week and and it sounds extemely clear. I am not seasoned in other wireless systems, but one thing I do know, this one has not let me down. Take care of it and it will take car of you. I would say that Nady customer service is not the greatest. I wanted to buy a hand held to hook up to the unit, and they were not to helpful. (Arrogant!) None-the-less this price is awesome.
I was a little if'y on the price but its the best wireless i've ever used the antenna on the transmitter is solid and won't break like those cheep bendable plastic ones & the clarity is as good or better than using a cord, i've had it for a year now and as long as you don't mistreat it, its great!
I had tried (and returned) 2 other types of wireless systems (both VHF) and was sceptical of the quality of a unit that was in the same price range but when I set it up and heard it, WOW! Very little to no signal loss, VERY little back ground interference. Kinda stunned when the sound I've spent 24 years creating was still there- wirelessly.
I'd have to admit, I was a little skittish about this one. Had a wireless system from another company that I paid about the same price for years ago. It was totally awful, awful tone, kept cutting out, ate batteries like candy,... so you could imagine my delight when I hooked this thing up and kept my original tone and no cutouts! I even went outside when I used this thing on my last gig, and I could still get a good signal (out of "line of sight" at 300 feet). Absolutely awesome wireless, and as another reviewer wrote, you take care of it, and it will take care of you.
I've been a weekend warrior musicican for over 20 years playing in several country bands. I've used several nady wireless systems and this one is as good as it gets for Nady. It's greatest weakness is battery life. 2 AA batterys will not last for a 4 hour gig even if you shut if off on the breaks. I sent mine in to see if it was defective since they claim the batteries are supposed to last 8 hours. And after 30 days of waiting for the exchange unit to come back it didn't change a thing. For the money this unit performs well, just buy lots of batteries and hope you never need service...
Nady authorized return of transmitter for repairs, stated 3-4 week turn around, that was two months ago. They take forever to respond to e-mails, poor customer support. Since I only used it for a couple of weeks before it broke, I would suggest looking at other wireless systems.
